Nice clean hotel. Polite staff. Car parking a little awkward to find. Breakfast ok not much choice. Free coffee/tea machine in lobby which is nice. Very near conference centre short walk along a canal path.

Great location for the Birmingham Areana and the Bull Ring. Safe secure parking. Friendly helpful staff. Includes buffet breakfast for which there was plenty of choice Complimentary coffe tea in the foyer . Comfy bed.

This hotel was ideally placed for us as we were attending a show at the arena. Rooms were well sized and very clean. Staff were all excellent and the breakfast was satisfactory for a continental. Would definitely use this hotel again

Booked well in advance and got a room with double bed and sofa bed plus all you can eat continental breakfast for under £50 !!!!!!!! Room was clean and all staff friendly and very helpful. A 15 min comfortable walk to New Street Station and Symphony Hall.

First time staying at this particular Ibis hotel. Great location for what we needed it for. Parking on site if a little expensive. Room was a decent size and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was nice to be included in the price but could do with a few more options to choose from. But overall it was a good stayear and will book here again.

Just got back from a 1 night stay at the hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location to the Birmingham Arena (5 minute walk) with the rooms at the usual clean & tidy standard, it could do with more lights especially where the tea & coffee facilities are. The down sides are: 1. The bar had virtually no drinks in stock except for 3 or 4 shorts 2. The continental Breakfast consisted of 1 small plate of cheese, 1 tray of processed ham, cereal, small amount of pastries & bread for toast, easily the worst I’ve ever seen before & for a hotel this size is disgraceful, I would stay again but would get breakfast from around the corner.

Paid £65 for B and B midweek. Overall good value. Excellent location close to Brindley Place and Broad st. Room was clean and freshly decorated. Breakfast choice was good continental - croissants, toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurts and juice. Staff friendly and helpful. Fresh air in the room would be beneficial.

Booked the hotel a while ago and was thinking of cancelling after reading the mixed reviews but am very glad that I didn't. We needed somewhere clean and comfortable to spend one night whilst visiting Birmingham for a concert at the nearby Arena, and this was exactly what we got from Ibis Styles. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from New Street Station. It was a 10 minute walk to Brindley Place and a 10 minute walk to the Arena. Most of the guests seemed to be concert goers. We received a warm welcome from the staff and our room was ready. The room was basic but clean and we slept well. There was a hairdryer, tv, tea/coffee facilities and some basic toiletries in the room. The chocolate on the pillow is a nice touch. Wifi worked well. We had to check out the multi purpose bathroom/toilet door as mentioned in a previous review! The room was a little cold at first but soon warmed up - there are clear instructions on the wall for working the air cooling/heating system. On return from the concert the hotel was quite busy. The bar is open until 2am but they won't take cash after 10pm so you have to pay by card. There is a drinks machine in the lobby where you can help yourself to a free hot drink at any time. Breakfast was fine - nowhere near as bad as people have made out in other rooms. Yes it was basic and continental but it was adequate. You get what you pay for and we found this to be a perfectly reasonable budget hotel.

We stayed at this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night . We were going to a party in the Jewelry Quarter of the city on the Friday and a Fine Dining meal at Brindley Place on the Saturday so this hotel was in an excellent location for us. The room we had was spacious and the bathroom was basic . The power shower isn't a power shower as stated. The room was clean but the bathroom seemed to smell . I think the cleaning staff need to make sure the mop they use is clean before using it. Breakfast is continental and ok . The carpark is £13.00 for 24 hrs . The Friday night room rate seemed very reasonable at £69 but the Saturday night rate jumped up to £169 but it still was cheaper than most of the city centre hotels . On the whole excellent location for getting out and about .

First impressions here are great, most important to note was a lovely member of staff who couldn't have been more freindly welcoming and helpful. (And I mean that in the singular, as she seemed to be completely unaided on the Friday evening we arrived on..) The room itself is what you would expect from the Ibis brands, comfortable bed, plenty of space and a warm decor, and well equipped. The only problem I have is the lack of ability to open a window. In my experience this is not normally a problem with the Accor groups' brands, but here, they are sealed up. It might seem a small issue to some, but to me, it just seems utterly insane to have to turn on an air recycling system to cool and pump air into your room, and yet even then you still wake up with a stuffy head. This when simply opening the window an inch or two would work. (Under a UK / USA litigation-compliant limiting opening catch or whatever of course...) Breakfast, as others have said, is pretty basic but perfectly OK - just the simplest of hot food would make alot of difference though, just some scrambled egg, sausage and beans or something similar would have been good - and worth a few quid more on the room price to be honest on my view if that was what it needed. And I am in agreement with another commet on the continental breakfast; some variety in the meats would trump the £1 per pack co-op ham. A local Lidl / Aldi would get you better continental breakfast items. No real complaints though, genuine cheap suggestions - and the bar breakfast area is spacious and relaxing to start / end your day in. But overall I can't be a moaning git too much, and overall this hotel is excellent value for money for a good room in a central location - I would (and actually already have) recommend(ed) it to others planning on staying in Birmingham.
