Great central Birmingham location. Close to train station and local attractions. Breakfast ok, rooms super clean and new. Spent three nights here on business, all service as expected. Thanks Nikki for all your help.

Functional. Clean, little around to keep you busy without a shortish walk but for a night to get your head down, ideal. Not a lot more to say, clean, comfortable with a bar but if you want a reasonable meal you have a bit of a trek. Breakfast, lets just say its functional, grab a coffee and maybe a croissant but I would treat it as a bonus, not something to get excited about. Staff are lovely

We stayed here for one night on a business trip. The hotel has everything you might need (good bathroom, hairdryer etc) plus an excellent wifi connection (free) and a simple but sufficient breakfast (also free). And a really excellent pub next door with great pies! Only downside is the parking which is is £13

Room was clean and there the positives end. Only a small bar poorly staffed, no menus no one to ask. No shops nearby. B/fast was poor yogurt and tinned fruit! Room only then fine but take supplies!!!!

Ibis a little difficult to approach due to the Birmingham road alterations, parking available in their own car park , a little expensive at £13.00 for 24 hours but convenient as the lift takes you to reception. Pleasant staff. Near the centre.

I would like to praise on the cleanliness of the rooms, the bed was comfortable, although the shower water pressure was hardly anything, it was a bit better than what I call a trickle. When it is advertised that there is WIFI at the hotel, when I arrived to check in, there was a notice saying there is no WIFI. I was told to connect to O2 wifi which was incredibly slow and to sit in the lobby to use it . The wifi in the lobby was very very slow too. May I suggest that if the WIFI is affect for a period of time, which the receptionist said it was affect for a good while, that the hotel update their website, displaying that. I had booked the hotel mainly because of the location and the wifi so I was utterly disappointed. Also the breakfast included was a big disappointment and I wished I had taken a photo. There was hardly much there, we had to search to see where the pastries there which was in a small wicker bowl lined with napkin. There was no fresh fruit just ones out of tins, just two trays of white and brown bread and the orange squash was pretty flavourless. Cheese were the small airplane packaged ones, one type of ham and they were the mass processed ones and were just laid on a tray. Tea and coffee machines were available and small boxes of cereals from those variety packs. Yogurts were just on a tray and not cold or on ice. Needless to say, I had a stomach upset after breakfast, I only ate 1 piece of brown buttered toast and a Activa yogurt. No wonder it says breakfast was included, if I had to pay £6.99 for breakfast per person, I would have been livid. I am very unhappy about this hotel and when I raised it with the hotel receptionist, I was told they used the Ibis name and its not the same chain or standard. I would have thought booking hotels through Accorhotels would mean all your hotels are off a similar standard. That was my experience and I would not recommend this hotel.

The odd thing about this hotel is that it is an Ibis -- which means some things are standard. Rooms are OK, beds are comfortable (crucial!), hotel is quiet, bathrooms (as in all Ibis) are tiny with those little showers. The strange thing is that this hotel is in other respects just significantly worse than the Ibis New Street which is on the edge of Chinatown. That one has a nice lobby, attentive staff and a good breakfast; this one has a tired lobby, a single overworked staff person to check us in, and a significantly worse breakfast with no hot food, what appeared to be canned (rather than fresh) fruit salad, cheese in little packages rather than a cheese board. Worst of all, the wifi was broken when I was there -- something the staff seemed to think was just sort of par for the course instead of a real problem for anyone traveling on work/business. (I've clicked "no wifi" below, because while the hotel in theory has wifi, if it isn't working when you're there, that hardly matters. Windows don't open, unfortunately. I just wouldn't recommend this hotel if you can stay at the other Ibis.

After some frustration with the male at reception (think manager) trying to do checkin we were looked after by a young lady, who was both very helpful and proficient in her job. Our rooms were on floor somewhere in between where the lift stopped up stairs and through various doors; through a bit of a rabbit warn.(bit of effort to get to the room) The room was clean comfortable and spacious, bed was comfortable with adequate coverings and pillows. Had a big issue that there is no phones in the rooms to communicate with other guests or reception!! also if there was an emergency surprised in a modern hotel that this was the case, everyone doesn't have a mobile phone. We had an evening meal which was pleasant and good value for money. We were late arriving however the chef stayed back to ensure we had a meal and also checked that everything was to our liking before leaving. Breakfast in the morning was also adequate (only had continental) plenty of food & variety. There is a bar area/ lounge which was comfortable to relax in have a few drinks and a chat.

Quick check-in, but not with a smile or personal touch. Room was big and bed was very comfy and large, linen very soft and room was quiet. Disappointed there was no toiletries in the room apart from soap, although you can request these it's a bit of a pain when you go for a shower and realise there aren't any! Also couldn't figure out the air con, could do with some instructions because the on/off button didn't seem to actually turn it on or off, you had to fiddle with other settings too. Breakfast was okay, coffee had a weird tang to it. Would've preferred some fresher pastries, they were all rather small and tough. Check-out was smooth.

Haven't stopped here for 2 years and the change of name hasn't done anything for the place rooms new refurb however staff are very helpful, exceptional are front desk Continental Breakfast is just adequate and I guess is in price so just OK
