Hotel is convenient for business. It has got some small issues but nothing major. Gym never open at 6am, no usual supply to rooms for few nights, no lunch option before 12. Let down by its Marco Pierre restaurant.
Dont go there, very poor bed (dished in middle) and very uncomfortable. Heating would not work, no wonder room cold. They also charge residents £10 per day for parking!!!!! Will not recommend or stay here again
We held our works Christmas dinner and sales meeting. The selection at the bar is not of the best only. there was only one beer available. We had our meal in Marcos, the food was ok, how ever the service was awful our manager waited over half an hour for two drink, there was no cutlery when the deserts come out, four salt cellars were empty on the table. There was no organisation by the staff, no team leader. The breakfast service was poor, the eggs were hard and the beans were dry, the buffet was not looked after by the staff.
We stayed here for a staff party which was fantastic and the food was great entertainment was great too. My room 274 was fantastic too very clean .We had breakfast and it was great multiple choice buffet. I would recommend this hotel.
This was my first and last stay at this Holiday Inn! Apart from it's convenient location close to the airport, I can't recommend it. The standard double room was shabby, the shower was broken and unusable although the water was hot and it was possible to have a bath. The heating didn't work and apart from a very noisy air conditioner, it managed to blow slightly off cold air into the room (in January). The room was therefore cold! Management did offer another room as they couldn't locate a spare space heater. But I was able to get an extra blanket/duvet which was also shabby and had torn covers. There was only one socket almost near to the bed, which was inconvenient as I needed sockets for phones/gadgets. The TV only had a relatively small screen. There was a function on the night I was staying, which may of course be a frequent occurrence, but the noise level was so high that I could feel the vibration from the bass through my mattress and it was like sleeping above a nightclub! To be fair...there was a Holiday Inn standard notice in the room offering free earplugs at the reception. My advice, if you need to catch an early flight and need the rest, make sure you check with the Holiday Inn if they have a function on the evening of your arrival before booking with them! I think next time I go back to the Premiere Inn. I've never been disappointed there yet!
Checked in for one night via travelzoo. Indifferent reception staff upon arrival. Bed was extremely uncomfortable with a severe 'dip' in the middle which resulted in virtually no sleep. The air con / heating didn't work in the room so we were cold during the night too.Parking charge £10 per night, so we used the shuttle bus to / from the train station. Only reason we booked was for close proximity to the airport for work purposes. This is not what is to be expected of an international chain hotel!
Only 4 miles from the airparks parking . Rooms had all the basic requirements , there was also a plentiful which was quite acceptable . The only let down was that we did not get our wake up call , fortunately I was awake . They did ask me for payment for the parking but when I informed them it was included there was no argument . Parked at airparks 100 Mackadown Lane .
Visited the hotel last week . A perfect stay. As a elite member I was treated very well and had a great room. Staff at the reception , bar and restaurant couldn’t be more helpful. Having a separate branded restaurant as well and a bar menu have a better choice on food choices. The free shuttle from the railway station is also a great bonus over other hotels in the area. I would recommend this hotel if you arrive by train . The transfer to the hotel is very smooth . The bus runs half hourly , but hourly at certain times so beware. A local bus service from the station does go via the hotel though.
Comfy, clean hotel rooms. Staff were all very helpful especially Mahad and Artiola on the bar, well looked after all night, very pleasant and friendly staff. Good selection of bar food very well prepared.
Stayed here the night before an early morning flight during December 2017. We checked in just as snow hit Birmingham airport, due to the extra number of people checking in this made the check in process very slow and confusing. Over an hours wait to check in, staff didn’t know if they were coming or going with all of the extra guests. I’m a little unsure of the hotels offering is it in fact an airport hotel as advertised or the ultimate Christmas party venue. During my Sunday night stay there was a very busy and loud Christmas party in one of the function rooms, not ideal with music blasting into the early hours when you have an early flight. Overall an average stay but it did the job, the room was clean and tidy.
