Ok there in June and Hot so Hot but rooms cool and indeed downstairs so cool people getting jumpers to put on. The Rooms first class and indeed you cannot beat the shower so good all items GREAT (except) waited 1 hour and 38 minutes for my inedible steak to arrive. Girl on duty was beside her self to make it right but to late so hungry chis and lettuce had to eat that but the STEAK was unable to be cut never mind eaten. Guy on Reception and young lady great but a coach load of people arrived and there was just not enough staff to deal with the people, food and drink. Car Park good and good value for money
I had stayed at this hotel many years ago which is why I booked it, as I knew it was very convenient for the NEC ( a 5 min drive). I have to say on reading more recent reviews, I was worried what I would find this time - but have to say, I found little to fault on my visit. I had no issues with parking - although understand that maybe I was lucky on the day! Again referencing earlier reviews, the barrier was in operation - however I was not asked to pay to exit, so I am not sure if they have revised their policy or not (£9 would be steep to be fair)! The food in the bar was very nice and the staff were super friendly. The room had clearly been updated - new carpets, curtains etc. The bath had also clearly been renovated around - but it was clean and the shower pressure was fine - so for a £70 stay, I will let them off!! My room was at the rear of the hotel and was very quiet - although it did get disturbed in the early hours when planes occasionally started to take off - but even then the noise was minimal, and easily solved with ear plugs (which they also provide free of charge if you forget yours). The bed was also super comfy. I didn't stay for breakfast, but based on my experience, this visit would not put me off staying again!
Stayed here with a friend whilst attending a Take That concert . We had a lovely executive room, although we did ask for the sofa bed to be ,made up in advance, it wasn't but not a problem as they quickly came and did it. Caught the shuttle bus to the NEC but due to the long queue after the concert we caught a taxi back which was only £8. Breakfast in the morning was typical buffet style, the only potential issue is the parking - we managed to get a place but as there was a function on, there were very few spaces. Would stay here again if attending a concert
Stayed at the holiday for a work trip. Hotel was clean with great friendly staff . Room was decorated with modern decoration (not old and dated). The bed was very comfy! The room came with breakfast and it was a great buffet spread fresh and good choice. The only thing was that the queues for checking in and out were big and waiting about 10 minutes. I would have also preferred the breakfast from 6am not 6.30. Overall very good.
Myself, the wife and kids attended an evening surprise birthday function for my mother in law. An altogether wonderful evening was had by all in excellent facilities which we enjoyed before, during and the morning after the party. Big shout out to Cheryl who looked after us wonderfully.
Booked a room before a flight the following morning - wanted somewhere close and reasonable with shuttle bus service which this Hotel advertised. On arriving at Birmingham International Railway Station I rang the hotel for the shuttle bus only to be told that the next one would not be running for over an hour and a half. Apparently they have a break around lunchtime, so we had to pay £8 for a taxi. Requested at Reception a room in the newer part of the Hotel to be informed that this would incur a surcharge of £20, so declined. However our room was clean and recently redecorated. A rather dismal view of roofs and bedroom windows but clean enough and had everything we needed. The bathroom was small and slightly dated but shower was good with toiletries and decent towels. Requested more milk for tea/ coffee, to be handed just one tiny milk! The bed was very comfortable and we did not hear much noise from the airport. The swimming pool, Jacuzzi and steam room were all good. Bar area ok, not much ambiance and lacking in bar staff at times. Drinks expensive as you would expect. Ate in Marco Pierre White restaurant - a nice venue, again quite expensive, £66 for a lasagna, burger, bottle of wine and shared desert - food was ok, not really worth the price, but without transport or paying for a taxi, there does not appear to be anything else nearby so not a lot of choice, either that or the bar area. Breakfast was fairly good, buffet style English with nice fruit juices, croissants, fresh fruit, muffins etc. Wifi was good, even in rooms. Check out was very busy so be prepared to have to wait and bear this in mind if you are getting the shuffle bus. Bus service prompt with pleasant driver, drops you at the Monorail which takes only a couple of minutes. All in all, we were happy for the price we paid and would stay there again, a pity they fell down on a couple of areas, eg no Shuttle Bus on arrival, no bar staff at times, I may have given a higher rating.
Went to Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport for a 50th birthday celebration - great night, great venue, great staff and a lovely room to boot. The room where we had the party was a fantastic size, a great event room. Well done everyone.
We stayed here when visiting family and friends we found the staff were really friendly, rooms are very clean, we did not hear any noise and enjoyed a great nights sleep. We will be returning when in Birmingham.
My stay was most definitely the best nights sleep I had in months the crisp sheets various pillows and the softest towels I've ever had , a most beautiful experience and I am so happy to have stayed here.
I stayed here for a trade show at the NEC and the service and accommodation for the price I paid was excellent. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice on the Buffett. I did have porridge on the first morning I was there but after that unfortunately that option wasn't available. However this did not detract from my overall great opinion as the staff and facilities were excellent. The Marco Pierre White restaurant is very efficient and the food very good. It's not in my opinion gourmet standard but was just right after a tiring day at the NEC. I booked early and got a great rate.
