Very disappointed, went to my room and tried to connect to internet for about 30 minutes. Phoned the helpline who told me it would cost an extra £14+ or I could get it free if I joined the Hilton Honors club. I told the lady I would be willing to join so she put me through another lady, but when I explained what I wanted she hung up on me. There was also a problem with the toilet bowl had a leak onto the floor in my bathroom room 2073, they handled this well and offered me another room which I refused as I was tired and ready for bed. I won't be back.
I stayed at this property during a recent conference I was attending. I had stayed there a few years ago for a similar conference so I was familiar with the property. The Pros: nice single room which was a bit far from the lobby but near by events on site. Front desk staff, while very busy at checkin did a nice job of accommodating a big group. Also, this property is close to the airport and train lines so a locational plus for sure. The Cons: A long list, I am sorry to say. For over 24 hours, all the room service trays in my hallway remained there with half uneaten food, uncovered and starting to smell. The trays were then moved by someone to the hall just by the elevator, but again, they were not picked up and the food continued to sit there uncovered. I even went down and asked the front desk woman if the food and trays could be removed, she at first couldn't be bothered, but said she would get them removed. They were still there the next morning, over 30 hours later. Disgusting. The food in the lobby bar off the menu and the service there was also quite disappointing. My order took over 50 minutes to get to me and when it did, it was not even hot, it was at most lukewarm, not a nice way to eat a steak sandwich, then I couldnt get anyone to even check on it for me, and it took even 20 minutes to get my check. Not a good way to run a restaurant. It was embarrassing how slow the service was. They did have a grab and go set up during the day which was a nice alternative. Some of this is correctable, it just seems that this place doesn't care really about these key things. Which is too bad.
The hotel itself is very nice and convenient if attending an event at the Genting but on check in the member of staff did not advise me that they would be taking an incidentals £50 deposit. I contacted them and this was returned to me fairly quickly but then I noticed that instead of using the pending payment for the cost of the overnight stay they had taken a whole new payment so in effect for a period of time I had paid twice!! I spent two days chasing this and unfortunately no-one seems to take ownership. I wouldn't stay there again. Poor customer service!
Pluses:Great location, very comfortable beds and helpful staff especially Paul on reception. Breakfast was fabulous especially the individuallly made omelettes. Minuses- £12 to park is outrageous and never had to pay for WiFi in a hotel before.
The staff were lovely, but the rooms were not so nice - they were ok but just felt a little tired. Noise from outside and other guests was annoying at 4 am but hey it is an airport hotel. The food was pretty ok in the bar, and breakfast was a good start to the day.
We stayed here for a concert in Genting arena, which is only about a 5 min walk away. Upon arrival, check in desk was busy so had a short wait but there were 4 staff members on check in desk. Nice and friendly check in. The room was lovely, nice and spacious with tea making facilities. The toilet flush broke, late at night so didn’t tell reception until we checked out. But, was told thank you for for letting them know, will get maintenance on to it. The room wall was very thin, or we had very noisey neighbours!! At 1am could hear next door, chatting loudly and laughing. I rang reception asking if they could ring the room, but was told it’s ok security will go to the room. Within 5 mins could hear security at their door, and all sorted. Couldn’t ask for more than that. We didn’t eat here, but we wound definitely stay here again. Really enjoyed our stay
Stayed with my daughter , booked the room 2 months before as we were attending a concert at the genting, room clean , staff fantastic, food very good , had a swim before breakfast in the pool, great view of the lake , all in all a very good stay would definitely stay again.
we have a love hate relationship with this place!!!, this trip all was good, staff brilliant, rooms good, parking good, meals good, no issues this time, so I guess we will be back in November for the Classic Car show at the NEC
Very functional Hilton. Useful if visiting the NEC or breaking a long car drive as it's not far from the motorways. Large carparks but they charge £12 for overnight parking (even for Diamond Honors members) so add that to the room rate. First impression of the lobby and reception is a smell of chlorine from the swimming pool which isn't great. Check-in was frustrating. I was offered an upgrade but the upgraded room was next to the lift which was noisy apparently. I declined and took the room type I had paid for only to find it was also next to the lift. Ugh. Breakfast was OK, normal Hilton range, nothing special.
rooms quite small for the price, we paid 300 for 4 nights which wasnt too bad but our friends paid 800 for a worse room for the same amount of time, one aspect which kinda ruined our stay was the fact that the two single beds in the room could not be pushed together, as a couple we usually end up with two singles and dont fight it as we can just push the beds together and put them back before we leave but there was a wooden fixture attached to the wall between the beds leaving no room to maneuver them, also there were no plug sockets next to the beds which was very annoying with only 5 channels on the freeview tv due to bad signal we were going to watch netflix etc on our phones but we couldnt as there was nowhere to stick them on charge , overall the stay was ok we skipped any food as it was way too expensive breakfast being 20 pounds per person was too much for us to afford, upside its two minutes away from the front of the nec and there is pleanty in the area to see and eat out at and just eat is always on the table, basically was ok but we will be paying a bit extra next time if needed to stay at another hotel.
