I've been an Honors member for years with a few years of Diamond status, so I know what to expect from a Hilton. It's more than I got here. 1) Air conditioning: Did not work in our room. At first they told us it just takes a while to kick in and we should open our windows. But we had a placard in the room requesting we not open windows due to mosquitoes! When we called a second time the maintenance man admitted that the A/C doesn't work well in the wing we were in, and that our room was really too big for the vent. He brought two fans, which were helpful... but shouldn't be necessary in a Hilton. Temps rested in the 75-80 F range, which is substantially hotter than we would have liked. 2) Cleanliness: I woke up with horrible allergies both days due to the dust in the room. It was visible on top of nightstands and on the sides of furniture-- it's clear that dusting is not part of the regular cleaning regimen of the hotel. 3) Housekeeping: We had to call twice to request cooler blankets since the duvets were obviously too hot for the room temperature. After the second call, they brought a duvet cover and said they were out of blankets. 4) Concierge: Part I: We needed to book a round-trip car service. We emailed the concierge a week before our stay. We received a response a week AFTER our stay. Meanwhile, we had called prior to our arrival and we were told the car was booked. When we arrived, we went to the concierge to confirm and, while he remembered speaking to me, our reservation wasn't in the reservation book. He made it and the car arrived, but when we got in the driver said it had been booked one-way, so we had to negotiate with him for the return. Part II: We asked for a taxi to take us to the airport at 11am. Concierge assured us there would be a line of them waiting. 11am-- no taxis. Concierge called and told us it will be a 10-15 minute wait, which put us behind schedule for our flight. Just unnecessary stupidity. 5) Bathroom: We had a large room but the bathroom was substandard. The shower stall was incredibly small with a low ceiling that wouldn't accommodate a taller person. 6) Dining: The hotel boasts of numerous dining options, but at least one was unexpectedly closed at all times. On the bright side the pool was great, we had a reasonable dinner at the restaurant (though there was no fridge in our room to store the leftovers), the buffet in the executive lounge was good, proximity to airport and train station was convenient... and that's about it. If this was a lesser brand you'd just chalk it up as adequate but flawed. But I expect more of a Hilton.
Stayed for 1 night whilst en-route to the south coast. Easy to find, plenty of car parking but found it astonishing that I had to pay considering I was parked a considerable distance from the entrance. Lobby area and bar/restaurant areas are nice as is the health club/pool area. The rooms though are somewhat dated and could do with renovations. Although as this is a busy property I appreciate this is near impossible to carry out. Exec room was nice, we managed to use this for our evening meal quite easily. Slept OK, breakfast was also good but why do staff always put everyone in the one area when there is a vast room to utilise. Would return for a night but unlikely for longer.
We had to queue with noisy, foul-mouthed conference delegates for 45 minutes before we could check-in; we were nothing to do with the conference, and there were only two receptionists, none of which wanted to make eye contact (I don't think they wanted to be there either!). We had to get up at 3am for early flights and had no sleep as the conference had a noisy "disco". The rooms were dirty (hair on bathroom floor and someone's used plaster on the carpet). We couldn't wait to get out of the place and will look for another hotel as this is 'transit accommodation' at it's worst.
Stayed here after our flight was cancelled. Good rooms, typical for a Hilton. Food in the bar or in the restaurant was fine and reasonable priced. 10 minutes from the terminal with a shuttle which needs to be booked.
The Methodist Conference was being held at this hotel and wife and myself attended the Sunday morning service. I had enquired about car parking and had been given details and found out it would cost £12 irrespective of the length of time there. I had no choice. However, I arrived and parked and found no notices to say the cost of parking. After the morning service I went to retrieve my car in less than 3 hours but then could find nowhere to pay and there is no payment at the exit. I had to find reception and eventually a pay machine. I was then staggered to have to pay £15 for the privilege to park for 3 hours. I have complained but the only response was it is an exhibition area and one should expect to pay high prices. Two issues I had to pay 25% more than the published price on their website and the lack of parking machines in the car park. The hotel seems to think that because they are the HILTON everybody will do as they are told without any thought for the customer. It is a pity that they cannot realise that if people are having to go for a conference they charge per hour not for 24 hours.
The entrance of the hotel is ok. The suit room is outdated and smelling old. Paint needs a attention. Repairs were done but looks worst . Sofa filling was gone, like seating in the floor. Tv size was nice but quality and channels available was very limited.
Great experience. Exceptional cusyomer service from well trained staff. Enjoyed the healthy breakfast. Room upgrade was a treat with fantastic view. Had a memorable time with celebrations tied to a graduation ceremony at Warwick University.
It was hot, and the receptionist gave me 2 bottles of water. Love the rooms and the Breakfast. I've eaten in the bar as well, which is also good. I've used the courtesy bus to the train station, and the bars have a good selection of drinks.
This is an old hotel in need of a refurb. The rooms are comfortable, but dark and tired. The hotel was busy when we arrived and had to wait 30mins to check in as half the desk were unmanned. The food in the conference centre was poor, meat over cooked, veg over cooked. The staff were very helpful. A good atmosphere in the bar late at night. Breakfast was to a good Hilton standard.
Stayed here for work the beds are really comfy and the room spacious albeit dated. Order room service which was lovely recommend the steak and ice cream sundae is naughty but nice. The pool is a nice size. Gym is small but big enough to keep you on track
