Free parking in large car park, lovely reception area, with bar, friendly staff. Stayed in a double room, clean, warm, comfortable bed. Would recommend stay here well worth it. Breakfast buffet is available although I didn’t have it. And has a small gym for residents.
Well my overall issue is that of the size of the rooms, I'd booked two double rooms via Booking.com and under the impression they would be as advertised in their photo gallery, they weren't. We ended up in what they call 'City rooms' I'd call them a shoe box, certainly not built for two people, luckily I'd only booked for 2 nights, had we travelled with luggage there would have been issues as there are no wardrobe,s only a hanger bar sticking out from the wall big enough for 4 shirts. They also advertise that if you don't use the room cleaning service you get a free drink at the bar, they neatly swerved that when we asked for our vouchers. If your on business by yourself on a quick overnight stop its fine, but certainly not a place to stay otherwise. I'll not be going back
I had a lovely stay at this hotel, the staff were welcoming and very professional. The room was clean a little compact but for the price very reasonable with plenty of useful info to explore Birmingham
We planned a last minute trip to Birmingham to celebrate New Year's Eve and chose Hallmark for the location. We had a very nice stay! The room was very comfortable, good size. Balazs on reception was very welcoming and helpful, gave us good tips how to get around in Birmingham. We will be definitely back.
This hotel is ideally placed for the city center. The hotel has good facilities, and friendly staff. Parking is free for guest but can get limited during the day especially if the hotel is hosting a conderence. Rooms are on the small side but have everything you need - and wall plugs incorporate USB charging ports which a nice touch
My sincere thanks to the staff at Strathallan, particularly Bridget, Claire, Christina, Paulina and Lilly who have provided consistently exceptional service, being flexible, accommodating and superbly empathetic to our adjusting plans and needs throughout the week, delivered always with a smile and ‘can-do’ attitude. I stay at many hotels nationally but the staff here are EXCEPTIONAL and make every stay special...thank you and well done.
We had an excellent stay at this hotel for a New year celebration weekend with family. A warm, friendly, efficient welcome on booking in. And, this proved to be the standard received throughout our 2 night stay. Our room, although slightly dated, was clean and comfortable and had eveeything we needed. The food was delicious for both the Saturday night and the New Year gala dinner, as was the breakfasts. The staff. Well, what can I say? So very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was to much trouble and always greeted with a smile. Location. If you were feeling fit and healthy, the centre is walkable, or there is a bus stop right outside. Would I return to the hotel. Yes. A great way to start the new year with family.
Well what a disappointment. Arriving for Afternoon Tea at what turned out to be a very rundown hotel we were taken to our table in what I would describe a run down bar. Asking if we would be taken through to the restaurant "no this is where we serve Afternoon Tea. Did we stay no and its my advice to others if you want a relaxing Afternoon Tea in a good environment then avoid this place. From my observations the hotel is run down, dirty and need of refurbishment.
Great hotel in a good location. The hotel is currently going through a much needed face lift. The rooms are small, tired with dated furniture, but are spotless, warm and well stocked. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful, especially Roxana on reception. The hotel is cheap by comparison to others and is excellent value for money. The buffet breakfast is especially good value, with a good selection of limitless, quality products. Without doubt if I was back in the area I would stay here again.
Booked a city double, didn't realise that meant gettin a room 1 and half meters bigger then a prison cell. Got over that as was for one night for New Year's Eve. Then went to get ready and found the bathroom was dirty. Went to get an upgrade which was willing to pay for, obviously fully booked given the day it was. But it's the only room I have ever know to have eveything u cud need, I.e iron and iron board. Just wish it was bigger and clean
