I chose this hotel simply due to its location to my where i was lecturing. I have to say it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The rooms were very nicely set out and quite large for a city centre hotel at this price range. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, The food menu at the bar could do with a little more choice but the quality was excellent. I will try the restaurant next time just for comparison. Breakfast which is self service has a great choice and again good quality I will definitely stay here again next month when back at the University
Clean and convenient if attending a conference at Aston University. Breakfast and meals are reasonably good. Rooms vary by age some parts are older than others so decor varies a little, as does size but the beds are comfortable.
I stayed at the Conference Aston during a three day conference/course, rooms were very clean and tidy with all modern facilities. The only down side was the internet connection, I was away on business but unable to log into internet due to their cloud facility. Despite all efforts by staff everything failed, please be advised if travelling for work you may encounter problems. The above aside everthing else was very good. Ideal location for those travelling wishing to see the sights of Birmingham. Restaurant was very good with a good choice of menu. This hotel is in the centre of Birmingham, however it is very quiet during evenings a pleasant surprise for its location.
Hotel not easily identified from building, buts it's the one at Aston Law School. The street signs made us walk in a circle. Website says can only pre-book parking, but was told by colleague that you could just drive to car park and there are spaces for non-bookers. The other nearest car park was Millenium Point. The bar area & restaurant looked very appealing, however on this occasion did not spend any time in either, except for the restaurant at breakfast time. There is an outdoor courtyard which looks inviting and no doubt in summer will be thoroughly used. On site gym, swimming pool. Rooms - whilst small, double bed, built in cupboard, ensuite with bath, shower very nice. Well kept and clean. Hair drier, iron, ironing board and even a fan in my room. I found the room very quiet, no noise from other guests or outside. Usual breakfast items. Pub close by and high street, with tesco express (atm available) and Costa available. About 15 min walk from Bullring. Do recommend staying here and I would revisit again.
We held a training event here for teachers yesterday. We enjoyed a warm welcome, a light, spacious, well-equipped room, excellent service and good food. I would certainly recommend this as a venue for meetings, training etc.
We booked hotel just for a weekend. Rooms absolutely clean and tidy. Bathroom also mega clean with perfect white towels ! Mini bar filled every day. Breakfast with big choice of different foods. Very nice and helpfull stuff. Hotel have great localisation near Bullring centre and china town.
I am currently sitting in my hotel room and feel compelled to write this review. Everything about the stay has been excellent - the lunch food (a buffet) was varied and well-cooked, the service professional and friendly, all the staff efficient, polite and helpful; the coffee and snacks provided for conference delegates plentiful and tasty. The room is compact but comfortable, well-designed and well-equipped and beautifully clean. However, I would not stay here again, because I am suffering endless, throbbing, unrelenting, pumping music from a pub or bar next door. Loud simply does not describe it. This is the second night of this noise - our 2.5-day conference is on a Friday - Sunday so we are here on a university campus on a Friday and Saturday night, which is presumably why the noise. I called reception to ask to move to a room on the other side of the hotel, and she was so lovely and so desperately apologetic that they were fully booked, and so quick to offer me ear plugs, that it made me realise that she must have heard this complaint very often. Unfortunately, if, like me, you are here on a conference, working over a weekend, and back to work on Monday, then, however good the hotel is, I have to recommend that you do not stay here. I know it is not the hotel's fault, and I hope that the local council or police are able to do something, as this noise level is without doubt way above what anyone would consider an acceptable level.
Stayed for one night. Professional and pleasant check in with quick service. Pleasant and well appointed room with high standard as always. Dined in restaurant bug selected good from Bar Menu- service was excellent but food mediocre TBH. ( chicken fillet, not home cooked chips, mushroom and full tomato )very tasteless and bland. Breakfast was better than previous - scrambled eggs were warm, bacon warmidh but tasteless. Individual toasters rather than a rotating toaster seemed to create delays. Coffee good and service pleasant. Check out pleasant and helpful.
Clean hotel, I had a nice large room and good bathroom, I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. Strange the amount of bad reviews. Every time I have stayed here, 3 times in the last 4 years I have always had a clean tidy room and no problems. Staff are pleasant and helpful, there are good ales available at the bar and the restaurant area is clean and well presented with a good standard of breakfast. Happy to recommend and visit again.
A lady front of house was welcoming, honest and helpful. Upon checking in she asked me where I was parked.. suggested I move car asap due to wardens and to complete registration following parking . I did this and returned to find she was busy but had actioned my registration. I watched her handle a 15 minute telephone request and be helpful and polite. Another staff member came to deal with my registration. This lady helped process this whilst dealing with phone call. She was flexible, responsive, polite and helpful. Rooms are clean, modern and functional. Restaurant and bar staff equally professional. This venue meets expectations for a modern hotel and I will definitely explore running a conference here.
