We stayed at this hotel for my daughter's graduation from Augusta University. It is located right down by the river with easy access to the river walk. The river walk itself is a great place to walk of a heavy meal or take a leisurely stroll. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the main street downtown which has numerous restaurants and shops.
I stayed here on a business trip and was very happy with everything. The room was very well appointed, the common areas were very nice and they had good food/drink choices. The hotel is located right on the river and there is a nice walk along the levee. The hotel is very close to downtown Augusta where there are great eating and drinking establishments.
The place was spotless and the staff were all dressed in professional uniforms and there to assist in any way they could. I rented a Jr Suite for some friends of mine. It too was spotless. We drank up the coffee. My friend called for some more and they were at the door in no time! Very friendly staff. What's confusing is...there is a whole other building for the suites and a person like myself and my friends got all turned around and didnt know how to get back to the main lobby. But it was all so very beautiful!!
I visit Augusta many times and this by far is one of the top hotels I like to visit when I'm down there. The staff is great, the rooms look awesome, and it is downtown within walking distance of everything. I highly suggest this hotel when visiting Augusta, GA.
From the moment we arrived until our departure, we basked in the kindness of folks at this Marriott property. We were on our way home from my daughter's wedding when we hit stop and go traffic on I-20. We decided to stop in Augusta for a good night's sleep. Our room, made possible by the desk clerk, Stephanie, overlooked the lovely Riverwalk. Tony, the bellman, had our luggage delivered and set up in no time. The room was quiet and serene. The Starbuck's folks were bright-eyed and welcoming the next morning and the Riverwalk was the perfect wake-me up before leaving for home. We will return.
Stayed there for two nights for a wedding. From the front desk to the room cleaning staff all were pleasant and helpful. If you stay in the suites, you will be a long way from the front desk and main eating area. Keep that in mind if you have older family members who have a bit of difficulty walking. Close to the Riverwalk and weekend farmers market.
Pleasantly surprised about this nice property. I stayed in the Marriott Suites tower and my room was excellent. Large one bedroom king room. Nearby restaurants and a great place to go outside and walk.(Riverwatch Complex).
Having read some of the recent reviews on Tripadvisor of this hotel it was with some trepidation that I travelled for a five day stay during The Masters week. Despite criticism and poor ratings given by some reviewers I can report I found the experience of staying here most enjoyable. The staff, from the trainee bell boy through the desk, restaurant and cleaning staff to the managers were helpful and courteous and hard to fault. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant we found a tad expensive but in defence would say that despite being an extremely busy time for the hotel, the kitchen staff were able to feed us whenever we asked, sometimes after we arrived back from the course late evening with no reservation. Nothing was ever impossible for them and the food was always enjoyable. The staff that manned the shuttle service during the week were brilliant, always keen to please and great company. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay here if they are planning a trip to the event or for any other reason and will be back one day myself. Manxie
Stayed here for a few nights during Masters week. The hotel rooms are comfortable but a bit dated. The staff is outstanding, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. It's a good location also. Overall a very good stay. Will stay here again on a return trip to Augusta.
Were in for the Masters and really appreciate the complimentary shuttle service! Rooms and hotel had been updated and were very nice, had a view of the river which was a bonus. Staff is very welcoming and concierge lounge well appointed
