I recently stayed at this Marriott during Masters Week. We had a room in the Marriott Suites, The room was dirty and clearly not up to Marriott’s standard. The conceriege level was closed during the tournament. The food at Augustino’s was not good. My lasagna was essentially a pizza in a dish. Room service was terribly slow. I am a Marriott gold member and would not recommend this hotel.
Since December 2017, we have been staying at this hotel at least once a month since we are coming into town to help my mother in law. This is by far 100% times better then any other hotel we have stayed at. The location is perfect as it's right next to North Augusta where my mother in law is. If you need anything, they are right on top of it ensuring it is corrected to your satisfaction. Matt who I believe is the hotel owner is a great person and is always wanting to ensure his guests have a good time. We usually stay in the tower and have found that the rooms that don't connect are much better then the ones that do connect. The reason for this is because it seems the doors aren't fully sound proof. We had a person's alarm going off non-stop until I banged on the door. Now I just request a non connecting room. Augustino's is has by far the best wings within Augusta. The bar tenders are fantastic and make some of the best drinks I have had. When the hotel gets busy, things can be a little hectic but trust me the staff will assist you in anyway possible.
I can not stress enough that housekeeping and cleanliness is a MAJOR problem here. We checked in to a dirty sponge on our floor, stains on the sheets, stains on robes, hand prints on the TV, mold in the shower, dust on every surface, and just an overall lack of attention to detail. We even brought this to the attention of management and they did go back in our room while we were out, but... no. They did not address all of our issues. The next morning despite the 'Privacy Please' sign on the door, housekeeping knocked on our door before checkout time to see if we were out and get the room clean. Noise is also an issue. We were at the end of a hallway and should have been tucked away however our door rattled every time someone else closed theirs in the general area of our room. Amenities are just okay. No breakfast included, extra cost for parking, no reception in the afternoon... Just overall not good at all.
Had a mini family reunion 3/29 - 4/1/18 written my sisters and husbands. We had adjoining rooms in the tower. With the reviews I had read about the towers I was concerned. I'm happy to report that I found everything was just great. Spacious rooms, conveniently location next to beautiful River walk. Good options for food on site as well.
I stayed here for a convention and decided to book a jr suite as I was traveling with my dogs and wanted the extra space. I guess the regular rooms have been updated but the suites have not. It was not awful but it was dated. The living area was very tight with a chair and love seat that touched each other and a small table and 2 chairs right in front of the door. The bedroom was typical. The suites are in a separate location but you could still walk to everything for the convention without having to go outside. When driving to the hotel the neighborhood felt sketchy and there were quite a few homeless people on the river walk. Overall it was fine for a stay and the Jr suite was cheaper for a reason but if returning I hopefully won't need to bring the dogs and can stay in an updated room.
The hotel atmosphere is AWESOME! the location is serene as it is located in the historic district. The hotel even has a restaurant with really good food!! The staff is very courteous and the rooms are very nice!
I spent one night at this hotel and it was pretty good. The layout of the hotel was a little funky as I to get over to the suite side I had to use one elevator walk a long hallway and then finish going up in another elevator. There was no concierge lounge at this Marriott which was a little disappointing. Self park was on $7 which I good for a downtown location. I would stay here again.
Location is right on the Savannah River. It has a river walk for exercise and scenery. The rooms were recently remodeled and not quite what I expected but nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I would stay again.
The newer rooms are awesome they have made major upgrades to the that are really nice. The one issue I had was finding the switch to turn off the led lights above the bed. They were really bright and the switch is terribly hard to find.
This is one of those hotels that would normally get a three. The reason they are a four is that the staff will handle your requests with speed, cheerfulness, and style. We traveled with a 12 year old as well as a small sheltie (that thought she owned the place). Kudos to Christine for being more cheerful and helpful then the amazing staff already there! Rooms are adequate and the facility is showing a bit of age. Service with style managed to overcome those issues and we will be back.
