Cleaning

The house and the layout was beautiful but unfortunately it lacked in cleanliness. Spider webs throughout the house and dead spiders in the tubs upstairs. The recliner in the family room upstairs had was full of crumbs. The downstairs had a stale scent and the sofa was full of spider webs and large bugs. We were unable to use the downstairs. The floor had dead bugs and appeared to have not been swept in a long time.

Needs at least 1 Smart Tv for those with streaming accounts. TV channels very limited. Refrigerator did not make ice or vend water.

Great location

Overall it was a nice house, with easy access to all things around Douglas Lake. The only downsides were that we had to wash the sheets, as one set was not clean, with some dirt and trash in the bed. Also, there was no hairdryer, contrary to what was listed in the amenities.

Great potential but...

We booked this property to be close by the water for a post-Thanksgiving get together and overall it was a good experience. Nice view and property has tons of potential. The property itself was good although the vrbo listing was inaccurate as far as sleeping arrangements and left us short of a bed. The internet did not work the entire time we stayed even though we went thru every troubleshooting option. I kept messaging the vacasa staff and they gave me the same answer - 'we contacted the local staff.' No one from the local staff ever contacted us and we ended up streaming the games via our laptop and phones. Based on our experience with this vacasa property, I am not sure I would ever book another vacasa managed property again just based on the lack of support they provided.

Family of 5 adults and one child. We enjoyed our stay. The furniture in living room and bedrooms was comfortable for 5. The kitchen table only sat 4. Lake was nice and easy to get to. House itself could have been cleaned better. Kitchen stocked better with more glasses, silverware, serving items. Ice maker upstairs did not work. We were given the wrong Wi-Fi code and that took a day to work out. House would be so much nicer if they painted a few walls and cleaned or replaced living room carpet and downstairs floor. And CLEANED it nester.

VRBO contacts were very slow at any responses

Overall a great home. However we had several issues from the moment we got onsite. First the code was wrong for the entry door. We were on hold with VRBO for over 45 minutes until someone answered. It took hours for anyone to arrive. There was a lockbox with a key up front and the back of the house. One had no key. The other had a key but not to this house. The one neighbors home is a dump and has trash everywhere. He even was walking around his yard with a shot gun one evening. WiFi directions did not work. This was mentioned several times by others and still not fixed. Views were awesome and a great space overall outside of these issues.

Overall the property was good and we had a great family vacation. The house could use a little tlc with a good cleaning to get rid of some cob webs. There could also be a better description of which dock goes with the property. We would definitely stay again.

Great home!

We loved our stay at this property!! Awesome views in a nice e quiet neighborhood. We rented a boat from Swann’s marina and had a fabulous time on the lake. House was clean and comfortable could use some upgraded pots and pans but we made due. We will stay here again thank you!

Better than expected

We stayed with two families(our family and another family of 4) for Labor Day weekend. Based on other reviews we weren't sure what to expect. It was ideal for our two families. I wasn't clear if you had to go outside to get to the basement but that wasn't the case. Our teens enjoyed the downstairs and the parents enjoyed the upstairs. The dock was on the ground but apparently can be moved. We just trailored our boat daily. The lake was great. The place was very clean. There is wear and tear because it was built in the 80s I imagine. Decor was to a minimum which was perfect because there is less to break. One couple does get a better room with a king size bed and ensuite.

Overall, the place was great for our needs. The concern I have is the rental is beginning to show wear and tear, doors with holes, closet doors off the hinges, dock loose and floating. The photos are not as accurate as the rental would like you to think. The dock is NOT pictured and close to not usable if your boating. The one neighbors home is nice and cared for, but they don't seem real happy with rentals next door. The other side is a trailer covered in a mess of garbage and junk outside (man was very nice). Location was very good for us, quiet area with easy access to and from the public boat ramp.

Nice and Clean

Everything was nice and clean, but we never found the hairdryer or the remote control for the living room TV. The icemaker in the upstairs kitchen did not work, but there was plenty of ice in the downstairs kitchenette.

The house was amazing. It truly felt like a home away from home. The lake was drained but not to much. We had a wonderful and relaxing experience. And will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful location!

We loved the home and location. It is a beautiful lake! The home is very nice. However, if you like to cook, like we do, I highly recommend that you bring pots, pans and good knives. The kitchen is not well stocked. Aslo, the picture of the dock shown is NOT the dock on this property. It is the neighbor's dock. This was a disappointment. The dock on this property is a 10-12 ft. square dock that rests mostly on land since the water in the lake was low.

Best Swimming Spot Ever

Beautiful and clean house.. Debris in yard. Great dock and swimming area. The sandy swimming area was the best... no mud! Reasonable price. Would recommend this vacation home to anyone.
