We stayed in November. We were surprised how close to the train station it was and yet we were oblivious of the stations proximity. It was good to walk into a warmth that was at no time overpowering. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was well organised and tasty.
Stayed recently with work and the food, was really lovely. And I certainly had an amazing overnight stay. I had halloumi to start and then duck was main with a lemon meringue to finish. Breakfast was disappointing as self service, having spent a lot the previous night on amazing food; I expected more.
we came here on a deal not expecting a lot but how good is it !! the hotel is town centre, easy access to shops restaurants and pubs staff are so helpful and friendly at reception and in the restaurant. they were excellent friday night and for breakfast saturday morning. Our room - 211 is double aspect so big with a huge comfy bed and relatively quiet we will definitely use again
This hotel is just out of the town centre and has pay parking. You can leave the car and see on foot all the sights of Stratford, Shakespeare's key properties, restaurants, shops etc. The hotel has a garden and trees space at the front to sit in and enjoy in the warmer months. The hotel is fairly modern in style and attracts conference customers. These do not interfere with their other residents as it is a spacious property with bedrooms over 3 levels. The reception staff on check-in were very helpful and friendly. We were allocated a spacious bedroom on the second floor, which met our peace & quiet request. Even though the view was over the car park at the rear of the building. This bedroom is spacious and with a small ensuite with bath and shower over it. Well equipped with a decent king size bed, tea & coffee making, large TV, desk, table and chairs. Individual air-con heating allow you to select a comfortable temperature and is quiet in operation. The restaurant serves good quality main meal food befitting a 4 star hotel. Service was reasonable and prompt. Drinks prices are quite high though. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice of hot and cold choices from the self service buffet. Waiter served hot drinks were not and so a slight black mark. We were on an inclusive Travel Zoo deal that included free car parking and 20% off food & drinks taken in the restaurant. On check-out these were charged / no deduction made, so this error was pointed out. It took the receptionist and then the manager an overly long time to rectify, begrudgingly we felt as if it was our fault! Hence the 4 instead of 5 star review rating.
Visited the hotel as venue for a conference with overnight stay. Hotel was very welcoming. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Great bathroom. Food was very good and staff very friendly and helpful.
We booked into the hotel as we were going to see Twelfth Night.Booking in very easy and quick.Lovely room, very clean and tidy.Staff very helpful. The only downside is you then still have to pay for parking .
Would have given a 5 star rating as all amenities, room, staff etc. were very good. However the breakfast left a lot to be desired. My wife wanted a continental type meal, but there was a very poor choice and she ended up with some stale Danish pastries. The only bread on offer was pre sliced white or brown for toasting. The toaster was absolutely useless. The breakfast menu card indicated that items available included blueberry muffins, brioche rolls, malted sourdough, granary bread and wholemeal bloomer, none of which was evident. on complaining we received an apology but no explanation. On the second morning it was the same although the breakfast menu cards had been removed from all tables!!
We spent a wonderful few nights here - although the hotel was very busy with a large convention of service veterans, they provided great housekeeping, breakfast service and concierge throughout our stay. The hotel is just on the edge of Stratford, really handy for the train station, and it's lovely and peaceful - spacious and well appointed. Highly recommended for a quiet, comfortable and peaceful stay. The small gym is perfect for quick solo workouts - although Stratford is an amazing location for running, cycling and outdoor cardio.
I was booked in to The Stratford by a company that I was working for and it really is a lovely hotel. Very clean and modern all of the way through and the bedroom that I had was spacious, a fantastic bathroom, seating area complete with large sofa along with a coffee table and a modern large size TV. Breakfast was great as were the evening meals and in the ‘down time’ between work, there is a small gym that was well equipped for a good workout. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. There is plenty of parking around the hotel and I’m sure that on warm sunny days, the grounds and tables/chairs outside will be put to good use. Thoroughly recommended!!
This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and still very happy. We were given a lovely large room with a king size bed, and the decor and facilities are of an excellent standard. Our 2 night stay included a meal in the restaurant as part of the deal and we were very happy with the choice of food up to a generous allowance. All staff pleasent but not intrusive. The receptionist Sandra was particularly pleasent. Now trying to find time to go back!
