The history of the property was unique

extra charge for parking

The location was quiet and gardens lovely. Room clean but dark . On arrival I was charged $12 for parking - no mention of that as far as I could see when booking through you! Hotel says it was because I booked thru you!! Not that impressed . Rest ok

Hot breakfast in morning

Close to all sight seeing places. Far from butchart garden only.

Location was amazing, pleasant staff and wonderful ambiance. We rented bikes on property- everyone is so helpful with recommendations. Breakfast staff had wonderful service. Will visit again!

Old property much in need of an update. AC unit in windows, windows locked shut. So no fresh air available on a cool day. Locked windows don’t feel safe to me. Code? Some staff were great. Old salty waitress at breakfast is overwhelmed by her job and is not terribly pleasant. She wreaked of smoke too. Overall we were unimpressed but had a fairly pleasant stay otherwise.

Great facilities and close to ferry, restaurants and other activities. Exceptional gardens and a great nights sleep

Excellent location with beautiful landscaping. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious. All the staff members were helpful, especially Tracy who exchanged money and called a cab for us. Our only complaint was the first night we were there the people above us were moving stuff around while we were trying to go to sleep. It sounded like they didn’t have carpeted floors because it was very loud. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If you want to have tea at the tea house, make sure you make a reservation.

Unique buildings with a lot of charm. Our room was huge with a kitchen. Simple, perfect for our long weekend out of town.

Outstanding location and reasonable rates. This is an older hotel and nosier than others. It's located across the street from the James Bay, Victoria BC, ferry and within walking distance to the bay area shopping and attractions.

Very pleasant staff, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was wonderful. Only downside is it was noisy- you could hear the water pipes and other guests.

This is a nice middle of the road hotel. Has A/C window units so that was appreciated. Plenty of hot water. Bed was comfy. Only negatives were our key didn't work and there was water dripping inside the window around 1 am. It woke me up but I put a towel on the sill. Fixed!

The staff are exceptional!! Can’t say enough about how accommodating they were to our schedule and activities. Especially given how busy their weekend was. I will definitely stay there again.

Hi Susan, as parking demands are high in Victoria unfortunately we have no choice to charge for parking to avoid overflow. We hope you enjoyed your stay with us anyway and we hope to see you again in the future!

Hello William, Thank you for your feedback and I am very sorry that our staff did not properly explain our parking fees. On your confirmation letter the parking fees are explained however they are often located in the fine print near the very bottom where many of us never think to look. In addition our staff should have explained that parking is only included with certain packages. Parking is an extra fee for most of our discounted rate plans regardless of the source of booking. I am very sorry for this miscommunication and I will follow up with the Front Desk Staff to ensure they are explaining this correctly to our future guests.
