Accent Inn Victoria3.0 out of 5.0

We had a very nice room the first night. I was traveling with my 10 pound dog and 85 1/2 year old mother. I spoke 3 times with the Inn before and after I booked. A staff person called me back because I was concerned about having a pet. My dog was with me when we checked in. They put us in a lovely room on the third floor. We were there to visit my new grand daughter. When we came back to the inn after 7p.m. the second night we were told we needed to move into a "dog friendly" room. My mother has congestive heart failure and was very tired and even though that room would not be cleaned and used til the next day we were made to move. It was not as nice a room, we could not use our air conditioner because of the stench of burger grease coming from the bin-4 burger place. When I commented on this the next morning to Laurie, one of the clerks who was there when we first checked in, she basically called me a lair by saying that the smell wasn't possible. It was another day before I was able to speak to the manager, who asked what is it that I wanted and that the pet policy was on the web page, I have checked....it says nothing about dogs not being allowed on the third floor. He did give us a discount. I have had a lot of time to think about what I "wanted". It would have been nice if someone said I am sorry we messed up. We should all know the policy about no dogs on the third floor. They could have let us move the morning, we had already spent one night in the room. I loved our 1st night there, we are going to be coming up at least 4 times a year.....we won't be staying there again.
Booked into the Accent inn expecting a standard minimal motel. We were surprised by the small touches that made this a very pleasant stay. The reception were staff very helpful. They have apples available for guests and serve a very decent breakfast includes cereals, eggs, pancakes, yogurt, juices, assorted breads and pastries, fruit etc. (although it can get pretty busy). The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Upon asking about public transit into town we were surprised to find out that they will take you in and pick you up downtown. This is a real bonus! Will stay here again when visiting Victoria
Nice enough place. Nothing fancy but close enough to everything. Few restaurants close by. quiet and convenient parking. People were freindly. nice and close to a nature trail to walk around. close to the major roadway, but not noisy.
The hotel was decent, clean, comfortable and offered breakfast each morning. This is a bit far from downtown, so you will need to have transportation to get anywhere, but it was fine for us! The breakfast area isnt huge so get there early - but the food was good -- pancakes, cereal, hard boiled eggs, ect - basic continental stuff!
That hotel looks like a motel. Location is about 15 mins to downtown depending on traffic so if your looking to be close to downtown this is not the best option. You have to drive or walk to take the bus. The hotel is located on a big road. Also the breakfast is very simple and continental. I stayed 6 nights in 2016 and I appreciate the kindness of the staff and the room was big enough with the whole comfort.
We stayed there for two nights. Got a room hidden behind the stairs, but the room was fine and spacy. The hotel was busy. The breakfast was just OK, but the room was too small, and it was very busy, so people sat all over. Location is outside downtown and the promised shuttle bus was not available. "The driver also need to have weekend" as the frontdesk told us !!
I stayed here with our son while vacationing in the area. This is a basic hotel though a good hotel. This building was renovated within the last 3 to 4 years. It has modern decor and furnishings. The room was clean and very comfortable. As noted it is basic though functional. The room cost included breakfast which was satisfying and efficiently run. The front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. I thought the price was a little high but it is Victoria and peak tourist season. All in all we had a good stay.
I had family here for a week and we decided to do a weekend trip to Victoria. Looked on line and everything was booked up right down town. I did a little looking about 10 mins out side of downtown and found Accent Inn. Booked in 2 mins and had confirmation sent directly to my email. Arrived at 1pm on check in day and our room was ready and they let us go right up, even though check in wasn't until 3pm. Check in was fast, which I like. There is an elevator for those who need it but the walk to the second floor was faster. Room was very clean and spacious. Lots of towels, nice bathroom area, small closet to hang your items up, a fridge, coffee maker, work desk, TV and AC. Wifi was excellent. Our room was front facing. The traffic on the main road didn't bother any of us but I can see where it might if you have issues sleeping. The hotel is very clean, someone was always doing something out side cleaning or watering the beautiful flowers. They have hanging baskets on the deck for each room, a nice touch! The uptown mall is a 10 min walk away and the mayfair mall is across the street. All your shopping needs in one spot. Attached to the hotel is burger bin. Excellent burgers but that will be another review! We decided to take a water taxi into downtown Victoria. The walk too the waterfront by Glo restaurant was a good 20 min walk. It was a nice day so the walk was lovely. You can definitely walk to down town Victoria but It would be a good 40 min walk. Water taxi was $10 a person from Selkirk landing to Empress Landing. Took about 15 mins. Great experience and we got to see a few seals playing. Taxi from downtown Victoria back to Accent Inn was $13 for 4 people. Beds were super comfy. They are soft, so keep that in mind for anyone who likes a firmer bed! Breakfast was very good. They had lots of muffins, cereal, yogurt, bagels, bread, fruit, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, drinks. The breakfast room was full but we ate in our room and on the deck on the second floor. Check out is at 11am. We never had one issue with this hotel and I would gladly stay here again.
I stayed here with my two kids in August 2017 and was very happy with this inn. Being able to park near your room was great, especially when unloading/loading the vehicle with all the kids stuff. We had a junior suite which had a separate living area, with pull out couch, chair, desk, TV, microwave and coffee maker. Then you go past the washroom to the bedroom at the back. There were no windows in the bedroom but I was ok with that. There was tons of storage and lots of lamps. I liked that the sink was outside the washroom, as when you travel as a family, you can have someone in the shower and someone getting ready at the sink. The bed was very comfortable with good quality pillows and linens. There was laminate flooring throughout. There were lots of little touches which I appreciated: rubber ducks you could 'adopt' to take home, good quality toilet paper as opposed to the typical hotel/motel thin and scratchy toilet paper, shampoo and body wash available on the wall of the shower, etc. You can also tell they have pride in the inn as it was very well maintained, with tons of beautiful flower hanging baskets everywhere. I think it was an older hotel with recent renovations as the furniture and flooring looked quite new. Breakfast was fantastic. I was really impressed. The breakfast room is small, however we never had a problem getting a table (we'd normally go at 9:30). Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10 am. Coffee was always fresh and delicious. The breakfast room staff was so incredibly nice, friendly and helpful. Always asking if we were ok, and replenishing food. Breakfast consisted of cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, coffee/tea, yogurt, fresh fruit (apples and bananas), fresh pancakes, a selection of pastries, bagels, bread and juices. I was very impressed. The pancake bar had a few fun additions you could add (sprinkles, chocolate chips, nutella, whipping cream, syrup). My kids loved the breakfast and it makes for a great value when you can fill up on breakfast at the inn! AC was nice and consistent - not as loud as other wall units I've heard. My only real 'issue' was that I could hear the plumbing from our upstairs neighbors. It got quite loud, especially when they would make noise late at night or first thing in the morning. My extended family stayed at the front of the hotel, right near the restaurant, and they said it was quite loud there. The restaurant was always busy late at night, so I would avoid rooms on that side. Our room was at the back of the hotel, with plenty of parking right in front. It was definitely quieter. This inn is located driving distance to the downtown inner harbour, but I found the location to be great since we had a vehicle. It was very close to a Save on Foods, lots of stores, Mayfair mall, and really easy to get onto the highway. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for one night after a whale watching trip. The rooms are ok, nothing special. The beds are good quality. The towels were not very clean and the A/C is rather loud. We had a good sleep. Breakfast was messy. The restocking of the breakfast food was slow. There is not a lot of room in the breakfast area so we had to eat in the lobby. A lot of people are eating breakfast in their rooms. The wifi is decent. The hotel is located quite far from downtown.
