Granville Island Hotel

Recent guest reviews

Location is everything - close to all of Vancouver Grandville market and brewery short walk from lobby.

Granville Island is a little touristy but centrally located and the hotel is nice. The harbor ferry system makes it easy to get around. Right now Sea Wall trail construction on the east side of the island makes walking possible but less convenient.Workout room has an erg although since it is in the same room as the jacuzzi it is not in very good working condition.

Although the rooms (and balconies are small, the location is wonderful and the staff is friendly.

Granville Island is a heavy tourist area. Probably better than staying there with the family then in the city. The free water park was a nice perk. Lots of shopping and restaurants. But if you want to do anything in the city you will need to take the bus or a cab, there is no Uber. The bus was decent and cheap - but confusing. All and all the hotel was fine, staff was very friendly - but the beds were so small, and hard.

Granville Island is a great place to visit while in Vancouver if you want to enjoy the food and shops of this beautiful city. Granville Island hotel is in the midst of this atmosphere of enjoyment and relaxation. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay

You cannot beat this location in Vancouver! Small quiet hotel. Can get anywhere from there easily.

Grandville Island Hotel is a great place to stay. It has the greatest location if you enjoy the water, boats, shopping, views of the city and an overall pleasant experience. You are centrally located to down town and the surrounding wonderful neighborhoods. I enjoyed the local restraunts that are in easy walking distance and the little ferry boat rides across the inlet to other place of interests. The beds are always welcoming after a long day. Just like home.

I love the location of this hotel. Parking was not ideal but it worked out, decent deal at. $12. Room was small but very clean, nice bath products, mini bar etc. I loved the dockside restuarant downstairs.

My first time with the Granville Island Hotel and is was fabulous. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable with amazing pillows. I had a double queen room that was very quiet and I loved the location of being close to the market for a day of people watching and shopping. I had dinner downstairs at the bar in the Boatside Restaurant and the staff were extremely helpful in picking out a light tasty meal of chili squid and glass of wine. The view of the harbour while enjoying my meal was an added bonus! I will return to this hotel on my next visit to Vancouver.

I have stayed in the Granville Island Hotel several times now because it is comfortable and the location -- near shops, dining, theater and arts, public market, yet on the fringe of downtown -- suits my tastes. The rooms are well appointed, the staff are friendly, and there are nice amenities. Within the lasts couple of years they have upgraded their fitness area and it is now a good place to work off the stress of the day. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

My family had never been to Canada before, so I was looking for a central location to stay. I was beyond impressed by the Granville Island Hotel. The location couldn't be beat. We loved that the market was right there to walk to and the hotel was cute, quaint, and comfortable. LOVED IT! Can't wait to come back. The front staff was very nice and helpful in exchanging money and giving directions. Thanks again GI Hotel Staff!

Great location, nice view from attached bar/restaurant.

Very nice hotel with a great Sunday brunch. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The rooms look newly remodeled and nicely appointed. It is an additional $15 per day for parking. I don't understand why they would put their fitness club in with the hot tub. It was extremely hot and humid and hard to work out.

great location, very quiet and very clean.... plenty of space in the room and the beds were perfect for my aching back!!!!
