We stayed for two nights on the weekend back from skiing in Whistler. Four Points offered a good rate since they were remodeling the second floor. We did not hear any construction noise. As a Marriott (owns SPG) Platinum Member, we were provided free breakfast for two at the adjacent restaurant - Citrus Bar and Grill. We were able to order any item on the breakfast menu, which ends at 10 am. Provided in the room is a mini fridge, microwave and safe. Two free bottles of water. Free parking. We had an enjoyable stay.
We stayed in room 301 on the weekend. This is a suite with a pullout couch in the living area. The couch, when pulled out into the bed formation was buckling in the center making it u-shaped. In the morning, we reported the issue to reception at 8am and requested the issue be resolved or to move us. The receptionist said she would have housekeeping look at it. I said it was not a housekeeping issue but a functional issue with the bed. The receptionist said they would address it. When we returned at 8pm, we found the sofa bed had been made up by housekeeping but the bed was still u-shaped; absolutely nothing had been fixed. We placed it back into the sofa formation thinking it would be more comfortable to just sleep on the couch but there was a large white stain - gross.I returned to the front desk to report the issue. They sent a technician to the room who confirmed the sofa bed was indeed broken. After much discussion with the front desk, they finally offered to provide a rolling cot, which we accepted. The bed in the bedroom was equally uncomfortable as the sofa bed. After checking out, management contacted us to provide a 20% discount on the overall room charges. This was pretty minimal compensation considering losing sleep all weekend and we will be needing massage therapy to repair the damage to our backs.
Stayed here at the last minute. Room was clean, the girls at the front desk were great! Would prefer not to stay on the ground floor next time. There was some construction going on but didn’t affect us at all. Average hotel, nothing too exciting. If I was staying more than one night, I’d prefer somewhere else.
It's just OK property, expected better though from Sheraton. It is old building which was under different brand before Starwood bought them out, so you can guess that quality wasn't built according to Starwood's brand at the first place.
We booked a single night in January 2018 to break-up a longer trip. The price was competitive, and positives included friendly front-desk staff and good service at the adjoining Citrus Bar & Grill. The issues we had were lack of working heat in our initial ground-floor room (though staff eventually moved us to a third floor room where heat/ventilation worked fine). I would have to describe as one of the least comfortable beds I've endured in a long while (and I'm not tremendously picky). The clincher was seeing a mouse dash down the hall immediately outside Citrus Bar & Grill as I re-entered the hotel hallway. It's winter and things happen, but management should consider some form of rodent control around the restaurant. I've enjoyed staying at other Four Points Sheraton facilities, but wouldn't choose to utilize this one again.
Stayed here this past weekend and was told the hotel was nonsmoking. The room I was given had a terrible smell and was clearly smoked in. We were given a different room after I complained. I found the room to be very clean but can not say the same about the hallways. There was a chicken bone sitting in the hallway for the entire time we were there (gag). I would recommend putting some proper window coverings in the rooms as well. It was far too bright in the morning! I wouldn't say the hotel staff was overly friendly at all, either.
Stayed for a week while on business trip. Most important of all, the internet/wifi does work. Room is good, a bit small, bed is comfortable. close to restaurants. Building is a bit old, but still clean. Very good consider the price.
Hotel was easy to find and our initial room was pretty new and nice. Unfortunately as we were checking in relatively early (around 4pm) and wanted to have a nap, we had to change rooms as the hotel is undergoing renovations and the noise in our room was quite intrusive. Reception were very friendly and allowed us to move to a room further up the corridor on a different size. The downside to this quieter room was that it was an older style and as others have alluded to - there is a strange smell. It was a musty/smoky odour. It wasnt so bad we had to move but we notified reception just in case they thought the smoke smell was us! overall the stay was comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice. We only stayed 2 nights but had been traveling for 10 days and this was the only hotel that didn't offer a free continental breakfast. The showers were nice and the shampoo smelled amazing!
The positive is that the Four Points by Sheraton Surrey seem to be attempting to upgrade the facility because the room I had on the second floor room 206, had new bathroom and kitchen fixtures. It is a suite and had two flat screen televisions. Housekeeping came everyday so the facility was clean. Room included breakfast, but not all rooms come with breakfast. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from a major shopping mall, The Gilford Mall, or you can take a taxi for about $7 CDN. You can get lunch or dinner at the food court. The mall also has all the major stores. The downside is, as I walked into the hotel it smelled musty. I am not sure why exactly, I am figuring that the carpets probably need changing. Once you get in the room and the air conditioning starts going the musty smell goes away, however it is still noticeable in the hallways, elevator and lobby. Overall it is an average facility. It would not be my first choice to stay there again because of the musty smell, however I would not totally rule it out if the price is competitive in comparison to other locations.
