I arrived at 8255 166 St, Surrey exhausted and completely stressed out after getting lost and confused from riding so many trains and buses from the airport to get to my destination! And after all that, there were a couple of issues with getting the correct payment method for my room! Rikky was the Front Desk clerk, he was calm, helpful and courteous, he helped me get everything straightened out, from credit card and currency issues to helping me find the bus stop and the best bus to take. I was totally unprepared, but because of Rikky, my stay ended up being great and much less stressful than how it started out to be. Thanks again Rikky!
Pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms. If the room had one more chair (there was a couch and desk chair in my king room) it would be a great place to entertain. Stayed for four nights and every day housekeeping freshened up the room. Breakfast that came with stay was a bit disappointing. Bread tasted stale and eggs and sausages were reheated. Coffee was poor. Lots of bus tour groups. Bar next door had good food/service but the staff's tight outfits and 'lingerie Friday's' is something I'd prefer to pass on.
Overall we really enjoyed this 3 night stay. It was nothing that should blow your mind, but just a good location, a good clean room, helpful staff, a friendly hello with a smile when you pass the front desk. You know, the little things that make your trip. I agree with another reviewer, this hotel is popular with overseas tour groups which tend to do whatever they feel like when they are using the facilities... ie push into elevators when people are getting off (like it's the last time the elevator will ever be there) or move out of the way when people are trying to walk through with luggage. That comes down to the ignorance of just certain people and backgrounds, and should not reflect the hotel itself. I believe across the street is a Rona yard, but we didn't hear any sounds from them at all. We also did not try the Aquatic Centre behind it, which i believe you might get free passes for, nor the pub or Tims next door. Overall we would stay again. The location is perfect if you don't need to be in downtown Vancouver. It is not as "scary" as downtown Surrey, if people got that perception from Vancouverites about Surrey. Overall it has that small town feel. Close drive to White Rock where you can enjoy the sunset and more of the touristy stuff, and then get back to a good night's sleep.
Actually a very nice hotel...good location, pub and Tim Hortons right next door, Aquatic Centre across the parking lot...for us it seemed perfect. But, this hotel is extremely popular with bus tours from outside the country. Finding a seat for breakfast before 8 a.m. is often impossible. We had wrong phone calls to our room at 6 a.m., people, sometimes 10 or 15 at a time, wandering up and down the hall talking loudly from 6 - to 6:30 a.m. waiting for the breakfast to start. Management might consider posting a gentle reminder in the elevator saying that several tour groups are here and that the breakfast room may be crowded before 8 a.m. (when most tour groups leave). In any case, we will not be staying here in the future.
This hotel is top notch in both comfort and staff. We were checked in for 3 nights quickly and were assigned a room that met our requests. We had a suite with a kitchenette - sink, cabinets, microwave, mini frig, sitting area , two flat screen TVs, desk, large bathroom, and king size bed. In all ways the room was perfect. The hotel is located off a very busy street but street noise is not an issue. It’s located in a business area with a bar/pub next door and a busy recreation center across the parking. There is an outdoor produce market a few blocks up from hotel which offers incredible local produce and some canned goodies. Breakfast was excellent. There were waffles, eggs and bacon one day or sausage on another, fresh baked muffins, bagels, cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and toast. The food was fresh and replenished quickly and the area was kept clean. There is an outdoor seating area when the other seating is gone. There were many international guests in the hotel and they met everyone’s’ needs. The servers did an excellent job. I ran up the Fraser Hwy directly in front of the hotel. There is a lot of traffic and there are many traffic lights to slow you up, but I prefer going up then down. A few blocks to the left of the motel is a running/pedestrian path separate from the road. But, you end up going uphill all the way on the way back. This is a new hotel and I would definitely stay again. We drove down to Big Ridge Brewing CO twice @ 5580 152 ST. It’s about 15 minutes from the motel. It’s located in a little shopping area. There is a happy hour Sunday – Thursday from 3-5 and they offer daily food specials. We enjoyed their West Coast IPA and the Kung Pao Chicken which we shared. It was plenty for the two of us. We had good service, the restaurant/ bar was clean, and it was a fun place to go to. Walked over to Baselines Pub just around the corner from the Comfort Inn and Suites for happy hour M - F 2-5. They offer a few bottled beers for 3/50 and ½ priced appetizers. We had the poutine which was fine and a good value fro $6. Service was friendly and efficient. The pub could use a deep cleaning but otherwise it’s fine. We also drove to Horseshoe Bay on the west coast about an hour west of Vancouver – traffic was very bad. It is a beautiful but slow drive on Hwy 99. Lots of gorgeous sights. Once at the bay we watch a ferry unload, reload, and leave. It was quite the spectacle watching all the people and cars in line. The town is a cute, touristy town with lots of stores. Sitting along the river and watching was the best. Worth the trip. Take the Trans Canada Hwy back so you can go over the Port Mann Toll Bridge. For the time saved, less traffic and the views it’s worth the toll. We traveled over the Port Mann Bridge coming back from Horseshoe Bay on the west coast. It is an engineering marvel with its construction. We saved a lot of frustration and time using the bridge instead of Hwy 99. We had panoramic views of the area. Well worth the toll.
Warm, helpful, concrete help at front desk after challenging way finding (first time driving in Vancouver area. Printed map for next morning was easy and straightforward. Beds super comfortable with pillow top. Two firmness levels on pillows. Large shower with fast, abundant hot water-instructions for shower use on wall. Nightlight (with hair dryer) in bathroom. Bountiful breakfast, readily restocked and kept cleaned up. I would stay here any time it was on my routing. Delicious, friendly, calm, sports bar restaurant (this was Friday night) just a few feet away. Quiet room with easy access to highway.
This is a first rate hotel that is busy and offers a lot of services to satisfy the needs of the customers. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. There were restaurants near. The service was excellent.
We stayed at comfort inn for our 3 day convention. Room were clean. Staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Amenities was great. We might stay again next year and we will recommend it to our friends.
Nice clean room. Linens and towels are clean. Breakfast were nice. Ismael Gatchalian was exceptional in service in the lunch room in breakfast time and so with his co-workers. Lobby receptionist were friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for just one night prior to flying out of YVR. It was recommended to us by a relative and was good value compared to many other Vancouver hotels. The hotel seemed new as it was clean and well looked after in all areas. Our room was spacious compared to many of the others we stayed in on our trip, and the bathroom was a good size. We all thought the breakfast was good too. There's ample parking outside and the staff we met were all friendly and helpful. If there's one minor criticism, it's the hotel needs more than one elevator - being on the top floor we had to wait quite a while on a couple of occasions. I'd very happily stay here again.
