Courtyard Marriott Johnson City

Marriott has degraded over time since it opened in 2009. We have stayed there numerous times, but will look for another location next year. The current rate for rooms is $134, however the rate during local events increases to $200, a 50% increase. It has increased the rate for events from $154 to $200 in just 3 years. This is with inflation at less than 3%. This is demand based pricing as the airlines have done for years. Also, Marriott owns 30 different brands of hotels which lessens competition. The room shows the wear of 8 years as does the lobby. We stayed an extra day after the event and found our room had not been cleaned by 5 pm. The front desk assured us it would be cleaned soon and could not explain why it was not cleaned as there were very few guests staying that night. Of course they had many rooms to clean, but why not start with the ones that were going to be occupied that night. We returned around 8 pm after dinner and found that a cursory cleaning had been done. Dirty glasses and coffee trash was still there. Cleaning had gone home. The price and service surely don't go together. We will stay elsewhere next year.

I reserved a room with a king bed and pull out sofa. The room was very large and spacious. The only issue was it appeared the blanket for the pull out sofa was dirty. Housekeeping apologized and replaced it immediately. The location of the room was great near the entrance and bar, but there appeared to be a service entrance behind the room and that caused a bit of noise which was annoying early in the morning. Overall a very nice hotel. The staff was great and I would definitely stay again.

Me and my family stayed here on our way to Disney World very clean rooms and very nice people at the desk, plenty of good place to eat all around, would highly recommend to anyone to stay here for family or business trip

Beautiful rooms, super nice! The lounge was clean, and I loved that served Starbucks coffee. Front desk people we courteous, very pleasant and helped me out to my car when checking out... it was pouring rain. I will be back!

This is a nice place to stay while in Johnson City. The hotel is very typical for a Marriott which isn’t a bad thing at all. The lounge is nice and although breakfast isn’t complimentary they have very good options. It’s close to a wide variety of restaurants and since Johnson City is a fairly small town even those across town are only a ten minute drive. I definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel was clean, and apparently redone in the not too distant past. Good size bath but a standard height commode. Most people in today's world prefer a "comfort" height with the large bowl. However, I've never stayed at a Marriott property that didn't have courtesy newspaper available for their guests. Or for that mayor, papers for sale. I forgot my iPad so i had too go without my WSJ until a friend stopped by with one from a much less expensive hotel.

The hotel common areas, as well as the room, were extremely clean and comfortable. The front desk person that checked me in was extremely hospitable, friendly, and outgoing. The hotel is only a quick 8 to 10 minute drive to the heart of the city and is also right off the interstate, making it convenient for me as well.

I just had the pleasure of spending 5 nights at the Marriott Courtyard in Johnson City TN. I’ve been traveling to Johnson City for years and the Courtyard is still the area’s best bet! Using the Mobile app by Marriott I pre checked in and used the chat option requesting a certain room. If you haven’t take a moment and download the app it’s really a great tool. Check in was a breeze and the representative at check-in couldn’t have been any nicer or more professional. My room as requested was ready even with my early arrival. Well done Marriott much appreciated. I spend 75-100 nights a year in a hotel and always try to make Marriott my home away from home if possible. I arrived to find I had been upgraded to a larger room (see pictures) which was spotless. 2 TV’s, couch, work desk, comfortable bed, walk in shower which I truly enjoy. Nice size mini fridge and microwave along with a coffee maker and coffee. The quality and value of this property is outstanding. The Bistro serves Starbucks coffee and the service was delightful each morning. They also serve breakfast and dinner along with your favorite adult beverages. When I headed out on Monday the front desk person greeted me by name. This same gentleman did this last year. Very nice touch more typical of what I expect at Ritz Carlton or JW Marriott. My room was cleaned spotlessly maintained each day. The pool, indoor and outdoor seating areas and indoor pool were spotless as well. The evaluator was rather loud and sounded like it needed service. Tons of free parking. Numerous dining options within a 5 minute walk. There’s also a grocery store and serval fast food options just a mile up the road. The Courtyard is approx. 25 minutes from Tri Cities airport. I didn’t see a shuttle van so I am assuming there is no airport shuttle bus. My only issue is the ashtray that always located at the front door at Courtyards. We were blasted with smoke as we waited for our ride most mornings. Simply stated it’s the Best hotel in Johnson City.

This place was super cute and plenty of space,it had a little living room w/a couch.Bathroom was nice and decently sized as well.Free parking always a plus, staff was always a pleasure! It did have a really nice pool and patio area, unfortunately I didn't have the time to use them.

Our room 220 was facing the parking lot and shopping center. No big deal. We were only here to sleep, didn't need a view. Daughter was in room 219 across the hall and she had a nice view out in back of hotel. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and washcloths. Was very disappointed there was no "free" breakfast. Even if it was only cereal, fruit and coffee, would've been really nice, instead of the pricey bistro. Not our style of eating.
