There was a problem with my reservation (possibly to do with using Orbitz) in that, upon trying to charge an additional $50 deposit on my Visa, the hotel's system crossed up, requiring me to insist on service and leaving us waiting in the lobby for a long time before a manager was called and it was ...
Everyone working there was wonderful to me. I would refer the Grand to everyone absolutely the best service ever. I've been to San Francisco, San Diego, Denver and Texas always stay with the Hyatt. They're the most beautiful hotel, classy and very upscale. Josh, Connor especially the young lady who ...
This property was really nice. The hotel view was perfect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bar by the pool was a plus and all the sitting areas were very nice. You had a beautiful view no matter where you were. The only thing I would recommend would be a little updating. The rooms ...
The hotel's website and Facebook page does not mention this place is geared towards a very young college party crowd. There were crowds of teens 18 + partying at all hours throughout the hotel not just the pool area (WTR). Which is fine, but NOT family friendly or for couples seeking a retreat.
Overall decent economy priced hotel. Easily accessible from freeway and food and fuel right out front. One grip was I arranged for a 1 PM checkout knowing I would be staying late at the casino the night before and housekeeping was beating on my door at 11 AM even with Do Not Disturb on the door. ...
Charming hotel a few blocks from Tampa's Riverwalk. Not too much nearby but free parking and easy enough to get around by car, although parking is tough in downtown Tampa. Enjoyed the stay.
The hotel is older and you can see that in some of the features in the room (carpet, door, furniture). But it was pretty clean (the baseboards in the bathroom could have been cleaner) and it was quiet. One of the elevators was broken when we were checking out which made our departure a little longer than it should have been. The staff was very polite, parking was good and the location was excellent. It was close to a mall and close to our destination for our trip.
Great staff! Clean hotel. Walls a little thin though and we could hear the shower running or flushing of toilet.
Great service great location and great management
Known affectionately as ‘The Big Guava’, in reference to an ill-informed mission to find wild guava trees, Tampa is a beautiful city situated on Florida’s Gulf Coast. While it might be famous for its beautiful beaches and the hedonistic nightlife of Ybor City, Tampa has plenty to offer families and couples. Whether you want to enjoy beautiful gardens, spend the day at the zoo or catch a hockey game, hotels in Tampa will put you in the perfect place to enjoy the attractions you want.
With more than 360 days of sunshine a year, Tampa is the ideal place for a beach break. There are plenty to choose from and, if you’re wondering where to stay in Tampa to make the most of the sun, sea and sand, you’ll find there’s something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Clearwater Beach is one of the best beaches in the region and very popular with families. There are water sports by the dozen and plenty of restaurants and diners, allowing you to grab a snack in between topping up your tan and zipping across the waves. Shoppers will find some excellent retail opportunities just behind the beach, and little ones are sure to enjoy a trip on an old-fashioned pirate ship before you return to your hotels in Tampa.
If you want to avoid the crowds at Clearwater, then head for Sand Key Park. Small and secluded, it tends to attract only a handful of surfers and is a superb spot for a family picnic by the sea.
Honeymoon Island State Park Beach is popular with newlyweds, who come to soak up the spectacular sunsets. With four miles of white, powder-soft sands, it’s perfect for a romantic stroll.
If you’re looking for a fun day out for all the family, you’ll find that there are some excellent things to see and do just a short distance from most hotels in Tampa.

The fun isn’t just for older visitors, either; there’s plenty for youngsters to enjoy, such as the Sesame-Street-themed Air Grover mini-rollercoaster, the Stanley Falls Flume and the Serengeti Express safari train. For those who like to party, Busch Gardens has extended its opening hours as part of the Summer Nights program, giving grown-ups the chance to dance the night away and whiten their knuckles on some of their favorite rides.
