Sleep Inn's are usually neat and well kept. A less expensive alternative to higher end properties. This property was not the norm. It is poorly maintained and run down. The staff at front desk was polite and efficient. The pool was closed for "maintenance" but the sign on door was old and worn. If you just want a less expensive place to sleep off I95 then it is ok. The front desk clerk in the morning also was the breakfast bar attendant. He was touching his hair as well as smoking by front entrance will serving food.
Checked in late and 1 of the room doors was propped open. Have seen this too many times in other motels. I assumed the help never shut the door after cleaning as no one seemed to be in the room. Now this is late , after dark, and was a bit unsettling having a door open next to my room. What really got me was something else, so simple. Got up, it was very late, tried to unroll the toilet paper and both rolls were stuck. As it was very dark, the light switch was not near, so I scratched and scratched at that roll eventually getting it to unravel. In the morning it looked as if a cat had a toilet paper fight all over the floor, what a mess. Could room service start the roll for the quest. I have heard other places complain about guests that " they wont even put a roll in". I was very tired and couldnt get that stupid roll too give up it's sheets. mgmt, ask staff to start those rolls. The better quality rolls are sort of self starting but not yours, they are a rubic cube at night to a very tired guest. Oh, the soft box spring makes the bed go rock and roll all night with any small movement by the other person. This never happened in any other motel, so far. There was a TV Guide scroll on ch 98 , a full sized minifridge but no freezer to refreeze the 3 reusuable ice blocks. No, I didn't fill my cooler with their ice. Must stop at a store and buy ice.
Front desk lady, charming, friendly, and helpful.Had room 118 on first floor. Bed and room clean and comfortable. Internet surprisingly good for motel internet. TV wide screen with many choices. AC worked fine. Bathroom was clean....HOWEVER, the shower stall floor was extremely slippery, we had to put a towel on the floor to keep us from not slipping.(told desk clerk about it when we checked out. The shower stream was a bit weak. Also, the vent fan was not working NOW,..For the Good: Great hot food breakfast. 2 types of waffle machine, sausages, eggs, grits, and sausage gravy with biscuits, coffee good, fruit and hot and cold cereal, yogurt, milk and juices., toast, donuts. Gosh, what else could I want.
Very Clean establishment - comfortable beds with nice bedding. Buffet breakfast was good. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were very helpful. Free parking as well as restaurants located nearby which is helpful when you are travelling
We choose to not spend a lot of money for hotel rooms that are simply overnight stays. Dollars saved means more money to spend on additional travel. This hotel fit that bill! It has easy access to I-95 and charged a very competitive price. I expect that Sleep Inns will have small rooms and thin towels. This one did! I read reviews carefully to try to make sure that cleanliness is not an issue and that there have been no reports of bugs or strange odors. Our room was clean, odor and bug free! Now the not quite so positive: This hotel is in need of some TLC. There was a broken window screen in our window. The ice machine on our floor was not working. The front desk staff were not friendly! Breakfast was sub-par for Sleep Inns. IE- Gallon of milk sitting out-not refrigerated, lukewarm coffee, no tea bags, watery juice, etc. We’d stay again if we’re traveling I-95 and the price was as reasonable as it was on this visit. Had I paid more for the room I would have been disappointed.
We came in late at night on 5/9/18 to get a rest from the road. Our cheerful desk clerk was super friendly and helpful. She directed us to a nearby restaurant and gave us a 10% off card! Sweet. Good nights rest, super clean and all we needed.
Most lower priced hotels seem to have stepped up since poor reviews can be a killer. This lower Choice property was just fine for our quick stop north. Everything clean, low noise , and typical breakfast. For the price more than adequate.
Actually stopped at this hotel on way to Orlando and on return trip home. Found this hotel to have easy on off access to Interstate 95. Hotel was very comfortable for our overnight stay and not too far away from downtown Savannah. Restaurants are very close by the facility (Cracker Barrel and others). The breakfast included offer at hotel was very satisfactory for our travel needs. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would recommend this hotel to others traveling along Interstate 95.
Front desk reception was okay, on the verge of being friendly. The room was small and at first glance looked clean. However, the accumulated dust at the head of the bed and between the bed and night stand was really gross. There was a musty odor. The TV did not provide local channels, they were working on that but it was not corrected while we were there for two nights. The AC was not working properly and we about burned up both nights. It looked like there was mold or mildew above the lights in the bathroom. Wifi was unsecured and hit and miss at best. I ended up with unexpected data charges from my carrier from wifi dropping while I was using my phone to catch up on mail and Facebook. The ice machine was not working while we were there. Breakfast was dismal, okay if you like discs of plastic eggs and gross sausages. The Choice site we used to book this showed a four star rating. After we booked, non refundable, we started seeing two star ratings on other booking sites. Needless to say we will look for other options for future travels. Oh, and the kid in the room above us ran, stomping on the floor, until 10:00 PM both nights!
As soon as I walked in and saw the dirty wall behind the receptionist I knew we were in trouble. The receptionist simply said "no" when I asked her for a list of restaurants in the area, nor did she tell me about breakfast or wifi. The room was in need of cleaning and repair. The carpet was dirty, the toilet tank top broken and the toilet wobbled. The shower- had a terrible leak out onto the floor and hot was in the middle which I found out after taking a lukewarm shower and went to turn it off. I checked out the pool-it was filthy. Why did I stay here? I had already paid for it online and couldn't cancel. There are tons of other hotel choices in this spot! I will say, the bed was clean and comfortable.
