TRS Turquesa Hotel - Adults Only - All Inclusive

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The resort is beautiful just like the pictures. The food was just ok. Japanese was best restaurant. The bartenders we amazing w the drinks. The Jet Boat and Dune Boogies were excellent excursions.

This was our third stay at this resort. We enjoyed our previous stays, but this will probably be our last at the Royal Suites Turquesa. Though the food had improved marginally, the level of service had deteriorated significantly. We arrived at the resort on a Saturday, checked in, and were shown to our room. There was no toilet paper, the TV didn't work, the sofa was a second bed, and there was no hair dryer. We were not concerned - we knew we had a butler to assist with these kinds of things. So, we asked. That is where it took a turn. We asked...and asked...and asked. They did get us toilet paper pretty quickly (while we were grabbing lunch), but everything else was a different story. They finally came to look at the TV Sunday after 3-4 times asking, and finally got it working Monday. No fewer than 10 times did we ask for a hair dryer, and it finally showed up Wednesday night. The sofa remained a bed for our entire 7 night stay. What made all this worse was that the resort places a "maintenance request" door hanger on the back of every door (which we also filled out), but the cleaning staff just put it right back on the inside of the door. We also had an incident where one of the bell/transport staff was extremely rude in telling us we would have to wait for the next cart to take us to dinner. We don't mind waiting, but the rudeness was unnecessary. They also no longer give out carved wooden flowers upon leaving. Finally, spa sales and travel club are unrelenting now.

This resort is very nice. A little walk to beach.Plenty of chair and tiki huts when you get there.Wait service on the beach is great. Swim outs are not very private so if you want privacy in the morning having coffee a second or third floor would be better.

The staff was great especially Carlos and Charlie. They treated us like family and everyone was friendly and respectful. The bartender kept the drinks flowing and the staff was attentive to our needs.

I should have paid attention to the bad reviews but I decided to book despite some of the reviews thinking how bad can it be. Let's just say I will not be returning here ever again. Was not a 5 star/VIP service as advertised at all. Some staff were rude and it took forever to get something as simple as water which should have been restocked everyday as part of the all inclusive minibar. Worst food I've ever had on vacation. I saw the food reviews and was thinking how bad can it be. Even with all the different restaurant choices (which you have to make reservations for) it was terrible. Worst vacation food ever. Even the hamburger. I mean how can you mess up a simple burger. Store bought burger tastes so much better. Butler service? What butler service. We never met or saw our butler the whole time during our stay. The servers at the restaurants never serve you drinks and when you go up to get it yourself they tell you to sit down but never serve you. Ignored a lot if you don't speak Spanish. They don't even look at you they ignore you and serve/speak to people that they can communicate with which is Spanish speaking people only. A lot of the stuff in the room was broken/not kept up with. The shower head in our room was broken and we had to hold it up for most of the time. Our bedframe was also breaking. The person sitting outside on the desk always played loud music from 7am to 11pm so it was impossible to sleep in. Room service was terrible took forever and was cold.

The bestttt service in this hotel is in the Pool bar..especial margarita and gavina..and the gourmet restauran have the best..service..thank you Ingrid..from the recepcion..sheet was so friendly and especial.. .

This hotel was billed as 5 star and it isn't even close to a 3 star. The rooms never got cool, towels were scarcely available, the linens were shotty, breakfast isn't available in any restaurant after 10 a.m., butler service is a joke, language is a barrier they use to their advantage. Everything was dingy dirty and smokers everywhere. Options for the adult only section were very limited and not as promoted on the website - two restaurants they said but what they don't tell you is it is one in the same but they count inside and outside dining as two restaurants; TV didn't work right the whole time and gave up trying to call for help with it. Room service menu is very limited. Beverages were horrible. Only one beer Presidente and it tasted like soap. Plastic bar glasses cracked and they still used them to serve. No turn down service and room isn't cleaned before 3 pm Kids from other adjoining resorts come to the adult only private beach and no one makes them leave. Husband and I both got sick from the food and that has never happened and we have traveled the world. Ocean view is a overstated. Minimal view of the ocean from even the rooms closest to the ocean. Lots of seaweed on the beach. No one went out of their way to be friendly or keep the resort looking nice. Allow peddlers on the beach. Secret pool was okay but that is for other complexes on the resort as well

Resort is TOO spread out! Much walking needed to access restaurants, beach, etc. It is not geared for folk with knee, back or any type of joint issues. Food was adequate and not always available due to narrow food service times. Sports bar food was limited and dried out under heating lamps. Rooms are in 3 story buildings with NO elevators. I would not return.

Our room was beautiful but, not on the ocean as we'd requested and were willing to pay extra for. The buildings did not have elevators which was not helpful to older 2nd/3rd floor guests with bad joints, hearts, etc. Maybe they want to cater to younger crowd? Some staff were lovely! Kudos to Thomas and my massage therapist, Angelina, who were awesome! But, several (particularly front desk staff) were distant and appeared irritated by guest requests. Perhaps our language barrier contributed to the disconnect?? It seemed that I was repeatedly referred to someone else about my questions/requests. Alcohol drinks were everywhere all of the time and the 24 hour room service was helpful.. However, the food quality fluctuated from average to bad. Snacks/tween meals were unavailable during many daytime hours. The restaurants were spread out all over the resort grounds and I'd advise future guests to make their dinner reservations for the specialty restaurants in advance of their trip. Otherwise, they'll face long lines, long waits or be herded into the buffet restaurants like cattle. I stayed at another all inclusive resort in Jamaica and was treated royally!! I guess I expected to be pampered the same way while staying in and paying for the Royal Suites Turquessa. It was marketed as a similar high end, adults-only, butler service resort. Didn't happen!!! Will definitely stay at another resort if I go back to the DR.

First resort experience I loved the resort concept will try again. The place it self was really nice the look it had made u feel like u were in a private city. But when we arrived to the resort was a Monday and the check in was slow. I did not get my introduction champagne I saw other ppl getting. Once we arrived at the room there was a Leak from the ceiling.which the concierge did not try to at least clean up. We put a towel. It wasn't until the front desk called and asked how it was, someone came checked and cleaned. Our luggage took 2 hours to get to the room. We called twice and the bell people just said we had to have PATIENCE. The water pressure was horrible the next day I guess they were fixing something but we weren't told at ALL. It was the loud noise that kept waking me up I'm assuming. It was my BDay not that I expected something but every other place I stayed at least greeted me. The butler was never there. The restaurants were overrated. The reservation thing is necessary!!! The bartenders were slow.

truly had a good stay..room was very clean, staff treated us excellent

Very friendly staff.. room was great .. any requests we had were dealt with quickly..pools were nice .. food was great everywhere we ate..room location was very good ..swim up rooms are great!

Please don't stay here. Food lousy at buffet. Specialty restaurant OK, but not great. Service bad. Front desk awful. Butler not worth it.

Best vacation I have ever taken! The ONLY reason I dodn give all 5's is my room had a small leak in the room.... Which they came and fixed immediately and offered me a new room if it wasn't fixed! Location was great! Resort was gorgeous! Will be back!

Swim up pool was great, bartenders were very friendly. We stayed at the Royal Turquesa Suites and pillows and bed were hard as a rock but they fixed that for us after going to the front desk which brings me to the Butlers... Don't count on them for anything, they are nowhere to be found even after we called them 4-5 times for the same thing. We just decided to stop calling and walk everywhere. And make our own reservations. Be very careful with the food, we were sick all week from it. We ordered breakfast one day and the milk was yellow and curdled, that was red flag #1. Stay away from the seafood, went to the French restaurant and they served me rotten shrimp. I then spoke to the kitchen manager and he did admit that it was old. The Japanese restaurant is the safest bet. The steakhouse was decent. The lettuce tasted like bleach a few times. Brush your teeth with the bottled water they provide for you, I gave the guy five dollars and he kept my fridge stocked with it.

My wife and I chose the Royal Suites because it had very good reviews. We went on the trip with another couple. I won't even talk about the experience at the airport or customs but lets just say it was 3 hours of torture. So we finally arrive at the resort. It was very clean and well maintained. Never a piece of trash on the ground or a weed in the landscape. We reserved the swim out room and we actually got upgraded to a swim out bungalow. The room was very nice and clean, no complaints there. Now let's get to the food and staff. I am American and I can honestly tell you there is NO Way! anyone from the United States could say that food was good. I been to numerous all inclusive in many different countries and this was not only the worst food I've eaten at a resort but it was the worst I've ever eaten in my life!!! I can't even describe how bad it was. Breakfast was terrible! Lunch was terrible! Dinner was terrible!! The best meal we had was Wendy's at the airport before we left!! As for the staff I would say 25% of the staff were friendly. 50% didn't speak any English. And the 25 % were down right rude!! I never write reviews but I thought it was important to do so this time. I don't want anyone else to waste their money on this resort!!! My advice to you is if you don't personally know someone who went to a resort in Punta Cana, then don't go!!!!!

3rd time back to the resort. Again, it did not disappoint us. The resort and staff is great. Especially Michalena and Antonio. The only disappointment was the selfishness of the other guest by reserving beach chairs before 8am and then not showing up till afternoon. The resort should go back to using the towel cards and limiting the amount of beach towels, This might avoid this.

This hotel is top notch. Beautiful grounds, clean, good food, superb beach, nice staff, plenty of places to go and things to do... Overall fantastic experience...

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect resort! Our check-in attendant, Ricky, was excellent. Our butler, Angel, was fabulous! He is proficient in English and did everything -from making reservations- to checking on us after excursions. His attentiveness is one of the main reasons our stay was so enjoyable. The beaches and pools were pristine. The layout was easy to navigate and the landscaping immaculate. The food was varied and quite good. Room service was an added treat. The employees work long, hard days. Although tipping is not required, it is greatly appreciated. My one suggestion is to step-up the on-site shows and entertainment. I highly recommend The Royal Turquessa. We took two excursions. The Canopy Zip-Lining was great. It took over an hour's drive to reach the mountains, but the scenery, excitement of the ride, and commentary by our guide, Andreas, made the trek fun and memorable. We also went to Manati Park zoo. We read mixed reviews on this excursion and were hoping for better. The shows were weak, the concession prices inflated, and the pressure to buy souvenirs annoying.

Overall, this hotel was a great value. We had trouble with just about every electronic item in our room, but most of the staff was excellent. The one thing that is kind of annoying is that the room's power is only on if you have a room key in the room. If you leave a key card in the power switch when you leave the room, the staff will remove it when they make up the room, fill the minibar, etc. Then you come back to a hot room with an undersized A/C unit. Overall, the barstaff was very good. The waitstaff in most cases were good, but there were a few exceptions. The food was decent. Las Torres was a very good buffet. The Royal Gourmet was pretty good, but the lobster there was not very good. El Behique was an okay buffet and El Arrecife was a buffet and not very good. Bamboo was a fantastic chinese restaurant (probably my favorite of the restaurants I went to. El Rodizio was the Brazilian restaurant. I love the brazilian style restaurants, but it seemed the the meat was tenderized to the point that it had no texture arount the edges. Sumptuori is the Benihana style restaurant. It was good, but we weren't sat at one of the grilles, so it wasn't as fun as you would expect. I did not get to go to the steakhouse, but I had beef fillets several times while we were there. The beef there certainly isn't as good as American beef, but the ox was fairly close. The seafood was not as good as I expected. The pools and the beach were great. The palladium hotels probably have about 1km of beach. We went in late November. At this time of year, we found that you don't want to sleep in because the best beach weather is in the morning starting around 8:00am. It usually gets pretty cloudy/rainy later in the afternoon. Some of the perks you get over the other parts of the resort by staying in the Royal Suites are reservations in the al a carte restaurants, point-to-point transportation #you don't have to use the train that loops arond the resort), free wi-fi, and butler service.

Dear George el , First of all, we would like to thank you for taking your time in order to comment your experience on Expedia.com. It is a pleasure to know you appreciated the friendliness of our butler team, the sushi and BBQ dishes and our location next to the beach. On the other hand, we should apologize for the inconveniences in you room during you stay and the bad attitude from the bellboy. I should inform you that this is not the Palladium standar. In order to improve and offer a better service, we will prepare a meeting with all the involved departments. Thank you again for your words and for your loyalty. We hope you can visit us again to live a real Royal Suites experience. Kind regards
