Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Orbitz promised a kind bed non-smoking, I got a double bed, with an awful mattress in a room that smelled like smoke. Also, the elevators were so slow that it took me 12 minutes to get downstairs in the morning. Awful hotel. I'd have preferred a Motel 6 off of I-95 but paid $250 here instead. Ridiculous.

The staff was really inviting and friendly! Especially the breakfast staff at the breakfast buffet!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Nice hotel, great view, I'd definitely book here again

This was one of our best stays ever in Philadelphia. The room was very clean and bed was so comfortable. The view was fabulous too. We will be back for sure!

Staff were very friendly and helpful, no complaints about anyone working there. Cost was...reasonable for the area and the time of year. Two major complaints however: 1) There is simply no excuse for charging guests extra for WiFi at this point. It's not the 90s; this is a basic amenity in the 21st century. 2) The public areas seemed decent enough, but if our room was indicative of the state of the whole hotel, it sorely needs renovation. Our carpet was puckered and stained; water CASCADED down the wall of the shower stall from the ceiling while the shower was running; no safe, no fridge, etc. Our stay coincided with the Philly marathon, so rooms in the area were scarce and we may have gotten stuck with one of their less-booked rooms, but I would not recommend based on our experience.

Very friendly staff. Good breakfast with awesome wait staff. Hotel was packed with runners and students from an event, yet elevators seemed to go quickly.

I️ Was moved out of my room, and was not accommodated at all!!! I was told the general manager would be in on Friday, but that was a lie. Also left some of my personal items in the rooom I️ was kicked out of, but could not get them until the next day after 11:00am. I’m going to post this exeprience on social media. I have stayed in several 4 and 5 stars, but when I️ do decide to not to, and this is How one is treated... un acceptaBle!!!

Unfortunately this experience was not all that we hoped for. We arrived early (1pm) and knew we would need to wait for our room, no problem. We were told when we arrived someone would call us when ready. That never happened. The reservation line guaranteed the room would be ready. By 5pm, when we had an event we needed to be ready to leave for on our one night trip, the room still was not ready. We were put into another room which of course happened to be next to very loud guests. After complaining we were told it was a busy Saturday night. One Sunday AM the club room was only serving decaf coffee and was anything but a special experience worth the extra cost for the room. While not everything that could have gone wrong did, mostly everything was subpar. It was a special getaway night where both the event we were to attend (4.5hrs from our house) and the relaxation portion of the trip at the hotel were all to be special and instead we felt like moving hotels. Also we were never able to access the free wifi in the room. We didnt get any value out of booking the club room deal.

You're always going to pay more when you choose a hotel in the middle of a major city, but it was a little a pricy for what you got. Not even free wi-fi or breakfast -- unless you're a Sheraton VIP member or something, perhaps -- Also, this survey only allows you to answer yes or no as to whether I'd recommend this hotel to a friend. I didn't want to say no, and yet I didn't really want to say yes. "Maybe" would be better choice. It's a nice place, clean and efficient with a pleasant staff, but aside from a nice wood work desk and office chair in your room, it's just an ordinary hotel room, I wouldn't call it a great value.

Everything was great except the two restaurants in the hotel. Stay in the hotel, just don't eat there.

5/5 Great spot, friendly staff and nice clean room! Everything I needed to crash the night in the city.

Not sure what some of the reviews that are bad are referring to, the hotel rooms are very nice/clean and the hotel itself is well worth the price, location is good just some sketchy people around Late night

Nice hotel. Nice pool. Clean room, quiet hotel. Nice location. Would stay again.

We only stayed one night, so we didn't use amenities. but the room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. We usually struggle with sleep in hotels, but we both slept perfectly! The parking garage was right next to hotel

Needs serious updating - front office staff does not pick up the phone. You get what you pay for here.

Everything was good with only one exception. My warm shower in the morning started cooling off too much - probably too much usage by a lot of people at the same time??.

Room was perfect, hoewever phone to order room service did not work, went to the bar area to order something to take up and it ended up being cold and the pasta was terrible. My recommendation is eat before you stay,

closet was wet and had mold and mildew, sink was clogged. requested service did not receive

I had to buy dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Payed almost $30 for a tasteless bad looking piece of salmon. Definitely not worth the money.

They gave me the wrong room and didn't even try to fix it
