Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia

4.5 out of 5.0

My husband and I have been visiting Hotel Palomar for years. And we always book the King Spa Room. The Fuji hot tub is amazing. While most other hotels claim to have roomy jacuzzis, Palomar actually offers a hot tub big enough to comfortably accommodate my husband and I. He is 6'1" and 225 pounds and this hot tub is roomy enough for both of us to be comfortable. The room is very well appointed and the staff is very helpful. The hotel is chic, clean and also located in fantastic Rittenhouse Square.... Great shopping and all the best restaurants. Palomar never disappoints.

Great funky hotel in awesome location. Overall experience was solid.

Spa King room had a very large and deep whirlpool bath and a good layout overall. Very comfortable bed.

Very nice hotel that we stayed over night for a college graduation. If you arrive by car it's in a tight place located on 17th street so checking in and out is tough depending on the time of day. Once inside the hotel, check in and out was very pleasant. The room was clean and very nice. It was easy to catch a cab and be over at University of PA in minutes.

Walls are a bit thin...but overall, would stay here again!

Very friendly staff, great location- will stay here again on my next trip.

Trendy hotel with lots of modern little touches. Comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Some of the staff are great, some a little flaky. Only real complaint would be the expensive room service was not good.

As soon as we walked into the hotel, we loved the interior of the hotel. The elevators were also uniquely designed inside. We stayed in the corner room in the 17th floor which had great views of Philadelphia that we loved. Even though the room was small, it had big windows all around 2 of the 4 walls which made me feel like the room was more spacious. The one thing that I didn't like was the bathroom door which was a sliding barn door. I would've appreciated a regular door because I felt like the sliding door didn't fully close.

Rooms dated and small. Toilet clogged. Great location.

Excellent staff & so friendly!! Will go back again !!

Used to love this hotel. Staff not as attentive as our stay last year. Also, very slow- asked for rollaway, car from valet, coffee ran out in lobby and wasn't refilled at 8:00. When you pay for a boutique hotel, expected more......

Fine for business, stupid survey requires more words so I figure I'll rant on the survey

Great central location in downtown area convenient and within walking distance to historical district, high end shopping and dining, subway, tour and bus lines. Incredibly friendly staff and complimentary wine hour every evening as well as bikes for touring the city. DEFINITELY recommend the Palomar.

Loved the hotel and was very comfortable. Wine and Sangria at 6:00 daily in the lobby for no charge. Don't make the mistake of drinking the bottled fred water from the room though as this is $5 per bottle. This is a bit of a disconnect, (big charge for water but none for wine?) but otherwise, great stay!!

I had high hopes for the Palomar and it still managed to exceed my expectations. The location is ideal, the staff courteous, the design unique and, best of all, it is pet friendly. It's located just a few blocks from a park, so it was easy to take our dogs out each day. I plan on staying here whenever I return to Philadelphia.

Love the location and the hotel. Super helpful and friendly staffs. In the central city. Could be in walking distance to almost anywhere. Love it!

My mothers first time to Philly and she LOVED our room. Great location, could walk everywhere and there were tons of great restaurants in the area.

The hotel was very nice but not quite as boutique in feel as we were hoping.

When I first walked into my room, I thought it was a nice, cute room. Then I walked into the bathroom and was floored! We decided to go with the king spa room and the bathroom was amazing. There was a pretty big sized shower and within the shower, there is a huge Jacuzzi sized bathtub. It was a nice room for the amount that we paid. A negative thing about the hotel is that there is a restaurant connected to it. How is this a negative? Because it isn't just for people staying in the hotel, causing it to be high traffic around peak hours. Which sucks because we could never eat in the restaurant without waiting for quite some time. Another thing is that the doormen are supposed to open the door for you when you come in and out. If you get lucky, that may happen. They are more concerned about holding the conversations they are having among themselves to actually help. Overall, I had a wonderful time for this being my first time in Philadelphia and for it being spent over my birthday weekend. I would do it all over again!

The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, staff is extemely friendly, but there's no valet, the beds were uncomfortable, room was a little on the small side, there wasn't a vent in the bathroom, and the room was really drafty. For the price though it was average value, all the hotels have similar amenities, this was a right down the middle. I would give it another try, but I wouldn't recommend it until I had a more positive experience.

Greetings! Thank you for sharing your experience with us at the Palomar. 17th street can be a little tight at times and I'm sorry that you experienced that during your stay. I can have our Engineering team take a look at the TV issue that you shared. We hope to see you again during your next Philly visit!
