Oakland Marriott City Center

I've stayed at Marriott Hotels all over the world. This one is just okay. It's clear that they've remodeled the rooms and I would give that remodel a "C" grade. New, commingled with old. They certainly could have done better. With that said, would I stay there again? The answer is yes due to its convenience and the lack of any other viable alternatives in the area. The one thing that did stand out was the staff. All were friendly and helpful. That goes a long way with a hotel.

This was one of the best hotel experiences that my wife and I have had. Loved everything.

I was charged $500 a night for a $150 range hotel. Hotel is average at best.

Nice location. Near BART and nice bars and restaurants.

Rooms were much nicer than expected. We bought the room package with valet parking, and that was very convinient. Great location with walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Only negative was that the walls were a little thin. Other than that we had a great stay.

Very expensive considering the lack of services. A place for conventions, not small groups or single travelers. Should be 100 dollars less a night.

Hotel was clean, comfortable and appeared new. The staff was friendly and approachable. The price was reasonable but the only downfall was having to pay for parking; there should be no fee since rooms are not inexpensive.

I had a wonderful experience at the Oakland Marriott Hotel! The staff provided great customer service and was able to answer my questions about restaurants, entertainment and shopping in Oakland and San Francisco.

Great stay for being Oakland, very friendly staff, parking was valet, rooms were exceptional will definitely stay again.

It's really not worth the money, but it was nice. I especially liked the breakfast buffet (not included in the room price, of course).

We loved this hotel! It was clean and staff was very courteous. the lady who cleans our room even lines up everything. The room was big enough for me and my wife, a toddler, and an infant. It was a little dissappointing that internet access wasnt included and you have to pay extra for it per day. but other than that, it was very nice.

No free parking. WiFi is very expensive. The nearby parking charges $30 per night, not including day time. The hotel is great. Located near Chinatown and Jack London Square.

The hotel room was excellent and in a great location.

Liked location and staff. Pool area was too quiet.

A moderately-priced, easy option if you're staying in Oakland and want access to Jack London Square.

Perfect location for the BART system. Was able to park my car and have no issues with transportation. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. Room was very nice. Had terrific view of the bay.

Staff were friendly. Room was perfect. Was on a high floor so didn't hear any noise

My boyfriend and I planned a trip to the Bay Area to catch a SF Giants game and the 49ers game. At first we were looking to stay in SF but the prices were way too outrageous for our pockets, so we looked into staying in Oakland since it was in the middle of SF and Santa Clara. Although I haven’t heard the best stories about Oakland we took a chance and boy are we happy we did. Now mind you, we didn’t spend any time in Oakland or walk around the area so this is solely on our hotel experience. Our flight was earlier than the hotel allowed for check in (policy states 3pm check-in and we got there at 1:00pm) yet we got absolutely no hassle for asking to check in early. The lady who helped us at the front desk had a smile from the moment we saw her and had a great personality. She checked us in right away, explained to us in detail the amenities of the hotel and where the public transportation was. When we got to the room everything was fantastic. It was super clean, we had a decent view (corner room so we had a view of both sides). One side was all buildings, the other was a view of the bay bridge and the bay. The only thing missing was a safe for our items while we were gone all day. Every staff members we encountered had a smile on their face and always greeted us. The room we had was quiet and clean and we were walking distance to the Bart and a 3 minute taxi ride to the Amtrak. If we ever plan a trip like this again we would totally stay here. Even if we go just to SF we said we would stay here. For the price and a 10minute Bart ride into the city, why pay more to stay in SF when you can stay in this nice hotel for 1/2 the price. Again, we didn’t walk around the area where the hotel was mainly because we were either in SF or Santa Clara the whole time, so i can’t speak on how good or bad the surroundings were, but if you only care about where you are sleeping, i would really recommend staying here.

OUR STAY WAS NICE, THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT, THE METRO IS LIKE A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE HOTEL.

The Hotel is really nice and well located near the underground station witch brings you the the city center of SFO in about 20min!
