Honestly, Going into a Marriott I expected something less and overall it wasn't! It was a beautiful, hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious the only downside is parking because it isn't free but what parking is free in the bay area ! If you are a first timer in Oakland I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Lots of good food and things to do within walking distance. $45 for parking seems excessive, but I guess that’s how it goes in the city.

Two years ago an idiot remodeled all the rooms. the space is poorly utilized; there are no drawers where you need them; no space in the (tiny) bathroom for toiletries; reading lamps that shine into your eyes. I won't be back.

Loved the room and the view but the windows Were not cleaned at all.

Clean rooms but amenities aren’t open due to COVID

Place was virtually empty and I still had someone right next door making noise at 2 a.m. Free wifi would have been nice. I found the tv selections poor. Room was otherwise very clean and nice. Mattress and pillows were great.

The location of this hotel was very convenient; I also liked the views on the bay side. However, I was quite unimpressed after I drove up and got out of my car -- and then had to struggle into the lobby with my briefcase, computer bag, umbrella, and two small pieces of luggage...no help from any valets. I mentioned this to one of the desk staff, who mumbled a vague apology. I also thought the almost $300 a night rate was high for a hotel that didn't deliver breakfast. The arrangement instead involved picking up items I'd ordered by phone...well, when I went to pick them up around 7AM I then had wait another ten minutes...for a bagel and coffee? Seriously? I don't know that I would book this hotel again. I will mention that a valet near the main entrance/exit when I checked out very graciously handled my luggage storage. Still, there were too many other snags to ignore.

Location was good for event at the convention center. However, parking was the most I have ever payed, anywhere.

This is your typical large Marriott location - clean, comfortable and newly styled. The front desk staff was phenomenal - Julia, Sandy, and Santi were all a pleasure to work with. Only downside of this location was the valet service, however Julia was extremely transparent with us, identifying the problem rooted in their transition between valet services. We waited over an hour for our vehicle to pull up, but at least they didn't misplace ours like they did the fellow before us! We brought the long delay up to Julia at the front desk and she immediately emailed her manager to note that we should be credited for the parking fee for that day. Santi provided us water throughout the trip upon request, she even juggled our request while assisting another couple – awesome customer service skills! And upon checkout Sandy managed the credits back to our account, stepped out from behind the counter, and walked us through our receipt line item by line item – again fantastic customer service!

Great view and modern rooms. Lots of outlets and the bed sheets were so soft.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your feedback. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed to hear that things didn’t go well (an obvious understatement). I know you have certain expectations of Marriott. Among the basics are that all that associates will be friendly and professional, you will have a clean room and services to enjoy. In your shoes I also would have been disappointed. I sincerely apologize! Please know we will use this as a training tool to help improve our service. Safe travels
