I hope that with the price they would’ve included a breakfast

Home away from home. Everything was perfect. This place is consistently excellent!

What you should know is that the "club" part of "Club and Spa," is very real. Warm weather and a holiday weekend (Labor Day) made it stressful to find open lounge chairs by the pool--the last thing you want to be doing after paying for a luxury hotel is scouting out space around the pool. The staff seemed at a loss for a solution. Most people seemed to be part of the club and knew the deal, so they had come early and thrown their towels down to save four or more spaces sometimes. Annoying! I can understand the hesitancy of the staff to pick towels up and upset club members who pay $$$$ yearly, having heard one lady demand an umbrella. Yikes. There needs to be a solution for hotel guests and the pool. More chairs in anticipation of a busy weekend? There was a sign that prohibited extra club guests during the busy time, but I'm not sure it was being enforced. This review is pool-heavy because that was the main draw for our visit. And maybe cleaning the lounge chairs a little.

Breakfast too expensive. I've stayed in hotels in Chicago for less money and shuttle was free and so was breakfast. They charge you for everything for a hotel that was fair compared to others I've stayed in that were nicer. Too expensive for shuttle and breakfast.

I came in from the East Coast, exhausted from traveling all day & crashed. At 11:00 pm, I was woken up by screaming, loud music, and people running up & down the hallway. NOT what I would expect from a hotel that I paid $350 for one night. On checkout I mentioned this to the front desk, and she basically thanked me for saying something about it. No offer to comp my $28 restaurant bill (for 1 cocktail & some French fries) or even the $4 can of diet coke I drank for my headache. On the positive side: nice bartenders.

Staff was dishonest, condescending and down right rude. Made my teenage son feel unwelcome at the pool and in dinning room. Dinning room hostess was rude, unprofessional and snarky, both nights of our stay.

The Claremont is a nice, mellow escape from the madness. There are tons of activities and beautiful facilities to accommodate ones every wish. The staff is welcoming and friendly. In fact, WE never wanted to leave the resort.

close to home weekend away for my wife and I, arrived at 3:15 had to wait until 4:00 to check in, room was nice good view of the bay. had brunch on sunday as alway very good, main restaurant closed for dinner on sunday went to down town berkeley to eat. check out and went home.

Excellent staff and facility! My only suggestion is to make it easier for guests in the hotel to get to the club facilities (currently they need to walk outside)

The noise from the generators is very loud if your in an inside room

Everything fine except the shower head, and bed. Duvet too hot, no blanket instead.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was amazing. We had a couple drinks at the hotel bar and it was pretty expensive though. Heads up.

Updated hotel. Comfy beds and great bathroom. We used pool and played tennis. Everyone was friendly. Close proximity to Berkley, Oakland and San Francisco. Great resort and will stay again. There was parking fee and resort fee though.

So swanky! Loved the decor, the amenities and the food!

The hotel was perfect. The staff was top notch, the lobby, rooms, work out facility and pool area were wonderful!

The Claremont is a stately grand lady of a hotel, and never disappoints. Acquired by the Fairmont Hotel chain last year, it is undergoing some much-delayed sprucing. Like going to a stylist after a long time of wearing the same clothes and makeup scheme. The staff is always cheerful and courteous, and if the rates seem a bit high, the views of the San Francisco Bay make up for it.

Wonderful! Perfect for our trip! Fitness facility great! Food great in restaurant

A get-away to celebrate the end of the school year, filled with smiles and laughter by the pool. Relaxing in sun and shade, then into the spa for a jacuzzi and delightful shower with nice products.

Everything was as we would have hoped. Terrific experience.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The view from our room window and from the lounge was amazing, you could see down town San Francisco and both bay bridges!

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We appreciate your feedback and can certainly understand your frustration regarding the pool experience - especially knowing you came specifically to enjoy that amenity. We are currently undergoing a significant club renovation to address several of the issues you mention and have long-term plans to expand our Club facilities. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the near future.
