Hilton Nottingham3.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is in a very good location in the centre of the city. The hotel is in a nice old building but the interior could do with refurbishment especially the changing rooms in the men's fitness centre. The buffet breakfast was very good in the Bric restaurant attached to the hotel. We had a good deal including breakfast but I wouldn't pay more than any other 4 star hotels in the area as it isn't as luxurious as other Hilton hotels. Also get the directions from the hotel website if driving as you need to go down a bus only road on the one way system to get to the small car park next to the hotel and we drove past the road twice!
Visited here with my boyfriend because we was going out on a night out in Nottingham and didn’t want to get the late train home, we booked a double room the room was really small so was the bed we both had a terrible nights sleep the only good part the of the hotel was the older man on the help desk who helped us get back in to the room when we forgot our phone.
I stayed in the Hilton elsewhere many years ago and thought I would indulge us again just before the New Year but was left quite disappointed by the standard. The location of this hotel is great, right in the centre with shops, restaurants and bars literally a 2minute walk away. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the lobby looked very grand. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and upon entering, the lighting was very dark and dingy with the layout of the room not necessarily helping with a big wardrobe next to the door and the desk across from the bottom of the bed. Our room was facing internally to the rest of the hotel so our view was just at other windows and there was limited natural light for that reason. There were little rip holes in the pillows and in the bathroom, the shower curtain had 2 substantial rips along the top. I received a text from the Hilton asking me how my stay was that evening and I mentioned this in the feedback, to then get a reply the next morning asked me again how my stay had been, and finally received acknowledgement of my issue after 5pm the following day apologising. The breakfast buffet was very tasty with full English available and a selection of cereals and pastries too. Overall, considering the price you pay for a room at the Hilton, I was left very disappointed and it has not inspired me to select them again anytime soon.
A very good place to stay . Room was very clean and tidy and staff were very helpful . We stayed for two nights and it was a lovely stay . Atmosphere of hotel was very nice . I would love to visit again .
Not what I expected. Great location in city centre. Parking was terrible and breakfast could have been much better. Access was difficult and maybe got a ticket. Room didn’t have a fridge which was a bit of a surprise for a Hilton hotel.
Room was warm clean and cosy, very helpful staff who could not do enough for you, parking was straight opposite in the multi-storey and it is ideally located to bars restaurants and the theatre 🎭 ...
Location of this hotel is good, near the high street. Staff were quite welcoming and friendly, however, room was outdated and not well-maintained, surface of furnitures has peeled off in some part. Further, room was with moldy smell due to the lack of A/C. Overall an okay stay but would think twice of staying here when I return to this area.
Having stayed at the Hilton in Nottingham with my wife Carol several times before, we managed to get an on line deal for three nights staying again at the Hilton Nottingham venue in between the Christmas and new year break, however on this visit there had been some changes to the management of the hotel.. Of our stay, the room and the venue was very clean and well presented, with the reception, bar staff and waiting staff all very professional, and seemed to want to go the extra yard in order to make the stay a very enjoyable experience. We booked the "Bric" restaurant within the hotel for an evening meal, and the lamb we chose was cooked to perfection, and there is also a very commendable wine list to select from. Additionally, the morning breakfast saw all manner of variety of hot or cold foods, and this was all overseen by the general manager, who seems to lead the staff by example, meeting and greeting guests as they arrived for their breakfasts, I feel this is one for the future, and I would certainly recommend a visit under the stewardship of Mr Tarry.
Stayed here last night with my partner as we went out around Nottingham and didn’t want to catch the last train home. I booked a double room for just the one night. We was checked in to what we thought would be a nice room after been given a 4* rating on the site I booked. Walked into the smallest double room Iv ever seen with a bed not much bigger than a single bed. The bed was so uncomfortable and we both had the worst nights sleep ever. I have given a 3 out of 5 as it was only a bed to sleep in for the night. I also left my phone under the pillow and the older gentleman at the desk was more than happy to take us back to the room and get the phone. I certainly won’t be going back or recommending to anyone to stay.
Booked for dinner, bed and breakfast for Boxing Day and prepaid. Received an e mail saying we could go on a possible upgrade list, offering de luxe rooms, drinks and snacks and newspaper, the deal was we would be told at checkin. Tried 4 days before to book in restaurant for evening meal but after holding on for 30 minutes got no reply. When we checked in we were not told we had a upgrade or asked for a credit card to preauthorise. Asked male receptionist if we could book for evening meal told just to go in when ready. This we were told at 3.30pm. By 8 pm we went down to restaurant to be told it closed at 5pm! All they could offer us was to sit in the cold lobby and eat, there were no tables available but a young couple gave up their tabke after listening to us. 1 hour later we put in a order for food, steak was ordered medium but was dry and over cooked but by this time we had lost interest.especially after listening to all the other complaints. Main bar closed small bar only manned now and then ,no wine list. Next day checkout was interesting, tried to charge us for the upgrade, then promised to refund 20% of bill . Refund came through but the upgrade still shows on my credit card as ore authorised even though the receptionist said 3 times it had been cancelled. Lack of staff and staff training is the problem here. Room tired with net curtains on the floor not at windows, snacks and paper. Not provided. Visit spoilt completely.
