Lovely hotel, stayed here for my birthday, although the rooms are quite small but very classy & clean. Very central, 5 minute walk into the city with a large weather spoons over the road. Would recommend.

I stayed here one night due to a meeting in the conference room which lasted two days. Quiet hotel, clean with friendly staff. Close to all attractions which car park spaces allocated in near by car parks. Breakfast was nice and plenty ful, rooms were nice and clean.

The wifi here is the worst that I've had in the U.K. and Ireland. York is a nice sized city so I'm surprised. There is only one elevator and even though there was a long line of paying guests waiting to use it, a staff member chose to fill the elevator with a large cart. When asked if she could wait, she just shrugged and got on the elevator. I questioned the desk clerk about this and she was uninterested. A bellman just dropped off my luggage. He opened the door and shoved it in. He didn't ask where I would like the bag or if I needed anything. The level of service here is far, far below my expectations.

Had a two day visit to York with our 3 years old Granddaughter, booked this hotel due to its Family room, location to centre of York and Tripadvisor photos. Easily located the hotel and its car par spaces in the council car park at the rear on the hotel, down Mill street, parking was £10 per night. Check-in took about 60 seconds, the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless and had a double-bed and sofa bed already made-up. The bathroom has a shower, big enough for one and fit for the purpose. No problems with the room, except it is rather warm of a night, so the window was left on the latch. There was a bit of noise from passerby and some traffic noise, but this hotel is in the city centre and you have to expect that especially on a Saturday night. The breakfast consisted of cereals, fresh fruit, preserves, toast, tea, coffee and a buffet English breakfast, it was really nice and the waiting staff were excellent. We had a drink in the hotel bar, their was a good selection and the waiter was really helpful. Overall a clean, modern hotel, with a good breakfast and friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much we're thinking of a return visit at the end of the year.

Stayed here as recommended by a friend Hotel was clean, friendly and located a short work from the city centre There was no food on offer in the evenings but there is a wetherspoons over the road! Overall a decent base - literally just a room with a bed and a shower perfect for our needs and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and all areas where tidy bit noisy in the evening due to pub kick out times!

Spotlessly clean with lovely furnishings we booked a family room which was made up ready for our arrival which consisted of a double bed and a double sofa bed. Great location very friendly staff and good value for money.... beautiful bathroom. Only things I feel that let it down were no plug sockets next to double bed which are handy for charging phones etc and only Venetian blinds on the windows which let in far too much light especially if you have little ones could have done with additional curtains.

Visited with friends in June 2017. Check in was speedy and staff were helpful sorting car parking (this was just down the road at a cost of £10). The room was nice and clean, it had a good size bathroom with a walk in shower. Only downside to the room was that it was quite hot. Used the bar after coming back from a night out, it was reasonably priced and staff were quick to serve. We hadn't paid for breakfast as part of the room price and I did think this was a little expensive and it would've been better if there was an option for a smaller breakfast as I had 2 pastries yet was charged full price. All in all, this was a good place to stay for a night in York. Not too far from the city centre, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for a relaxing night away, and this hotel didn't disappoint. Easy check in, with really friendly staff on reception. Room and hotel in general was clean and tidy throughout. Breakfast was also first class with the restaurant staff excellent. Car park was small, but within reach of the hotel and was easy to find. Only complaint was the room was far too hot, could do with aircon for those couple of days a year we get decent weather. Definitely return to this hotel.

my wife and I have just recently stayed at this hotel following a night at the theatre. The Hotel is perfect for short stays as it is close to the city centre, is spotlessly clean and has very friendly helpful staff. The room we had was superb and the breakfast was first class. We will go back

Come to this hotel every Christmas for the past 3 years, rooms are a good size and clean, the only issue ive found is that if your room is at the back of the hotel you can hear the puds at night and it can make it very hard to sleep, my advice is to ask for a room facing the front of the hotel. Staff are lovely and helpful and the downstairs bar is a great place to chill especially if its raining cats and dogs. This is not in the middle of york but on the outskirts so be prepared to walk a while to get to and from here. will be booking again for this Christmas :)
