Stayed a few times over the last couple of months. The hotel is one of the more modern refurbished Holiday Inns, so well equipped. Rooms are good, room service and breakfast great. The area of Camden is fantastic for exploring. And also for a run along the canal towards Regent Park and London Zoo.
Stayed here for one night on 18th June for a gig at Koko, which was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and it's literally a minute from the door to Camden Lock. Check-in was quick and easy by a very friendly member of staff, I can't remember his name. Our room was proper chilly when we got in there, thank the god for air conditioning! One feature I did like was the fully openable window, a rare feature in hotels these days! The bathroom was a little cramped. Breakfast was ok, lay out was odd, milk wasn't with the cereals, no sauces on the tables. Food was tasty, the most crumbliest hash browns I've ever had but still tastes good! All in all, great value hotel, would probably stay again if only for the location.
Perfect accommodation for those wishing to explore Camden market, Camden Town pubs, bars and venues. Walking distance to Camden road and the tube station with easy access to the riverside and market. 5 - 10 mins walk to Dublin castle, electric ballroom and the jazz cafe.
Had great time in London which in no small part was helped greatly by the friendly, helpful and welcoming staff of the Camden lock holiday inn. We would like to thank Abdulahi who was particularly helpful with our request to change room, which he facilitated with minimal fuss by taking us to view other rooms and offering to help with luggage.
this hotel is right on the camden lock canal and if you can pay the extra for a view. the staff we encountered on our 2 night stay were excellent. so apart from the extra you pay for this hotel we could not fault it
This is a nice Holiday Inn in a great area. However it's certainly not able to justify the enormous charges for two nights in a standard room at £620. That doesn't even include breakfast... the rooms are fine and there is a small gym in the basement. Taking everything into consideration (London prices and location) with same week booking I would have said it should be at least a third less expensive
Booked a wheelchair accessible room, for 1 nights stay, we were on the 2nd floor, with a fantastic view of the lock, nice spacious room, with wet room bathroom, and grab rails etc, all The staff were friendly and welcoming, went to the roundhouse for a gig, it was a bit noisy when we got back, it was a Saturday night, but it didn't stop us sleeping, would have no hesitation in staying again
We stayed at the Hotel from the 15th May 2017 through to the 19th May 2017 and we booked into Room 503. Getting to the Hotel from the Camden Tube Stop is very easy and only a short walk. On arrival we found the Reception Staff excellent and very welcoming to their Hotel. They helpfully explained all aspects we could expect during our stay and were a lovely happy group of people. The reception and Bar area were well managed and monitored by the staff in the area and it had a good atmosphere during our stay. Our room was on the top floor and designated as a balcony suite. It tutned out to be a lovely spacious room, with great amenities and very well maintianed. The balcony had a great seating area with table and 2 chairs and ther were good views into the City itself towards the Gurkin and London Eye and also of the Camden Lock area. This is a great vibrant area to eat and drink during the late afternoons. The markets are also very nearby. The bathroom was well presented and had both a bath and shower seperate which we found very good. We ate breakfast each day in the Mezanine Breakfast area, where the staff were very welcoming and looked after you. We found the food each day very good and kept hot at the self service servery areas. The staff also cooked pancakes on request which was very good. Workwise, we found that the Wifi worked perfectly well for us during our stay and we were able to get things completed easily and arrange our meetings during the week. We had no real issues during our stay but we have to mention an extremely minor matter around our morning newspaper which was not delivered on one day. The ONLY reason we mention this was the response of the Staff, led by Francesco on the front desk. It was really really minor, but they reacted so positively and went to great lengths to ensure it was resolved. They all just have an exceptional work ethic and provided outstanding customer experiences. It just shows that great staff can make a great Hotel experience. This is a great choice of Hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. It was easy to get into the City and the camden area is a great place and the food and market area a very enjoyable palce to be. You can walk along the canal towards Regents Park and it is very pleasant. We would not hesitate to stay here again, brilliant Hotel, Staff and location.
Stayed 2 nights, and selected here to be close to Camden and specifically the food market at the lock, which has loads of vegan options. The hotel location is good, close to Camden tube station on the northern line, but still easily walkable to Euston in about 15 minutes. We had a room with two double beds, which was clean and comfortable, and not too small. There was a choice of hard and soft pillows, something that is always welcomed. Will stay again.
We picked Camden Lock as a change from slightly more centrally located hotels in this sort of price band as the area is interesting, tube nearby, and a change is fun! Standard Holiday Inn services, efficient staff, and our room was a decent size (we had selected a bigger option through online booking). Only downside was permanent background music from (I assume) outside - literally all night long, no let-up, loud enough to be audible through the double glazing. A bit irritating if you are a light sleeper though in this part of Camden a bit of street noise is to be expected. But generally why isn't it turned off after (say) 2 or even 3 AM. Otherwise no problems - a good stay.
