I stayed here with my daughter so that we were able to walk to restaurants, Camden market etc and go see a show. It was a perfect location and what a lovely view from our bedroom windows. We had the executive suite and it was wonderful. Spacious with wonderful views of the Loch and Camden restaurants/ pubs markets. We just got Uber or taxis to Covent Garden about £7-10! The staff were so friendly and helpful and cheerful! Thank you! The breakfast was fresh and delicious with plenty of options. We would definitely stay here again. Great hotel, but as always it’s the staff that make it a great hotel to stay at and because of them their is a warm welcoming atmosphere. Also I love having a coffee machine in the bedroom! Lots of gluten free options at breakfast. Get booking as you won’t be disappointed!
Hotel was in a great location as close to buses and tube. Camden market is just a short walk away, where you are spoilt for choice in terms of food. Lots of restaurants and a coffee Nero is just opposite the hotel. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean bright and modern. Great place to stay!
We've stayed for 2 nights, maybe we were just unlucky as we had a very old room that needs maintenance (I've heard that other rooms were better even if they had same price), we were on the first floor facing Camden Lock (even if it wasn't important for us, they've asked if it was fine for us as it's a plus for them, I'd have choose a newer room if I knew, even if facing the other side of the hotel). I am also a IHG member and I think they should have special care for this kind of customers. Some panels on the ceiling were dangling and clumsy, our curtain was broken and dangling too, furnitures were old, carpet on the floor wasn't that clean and it was dusty. Matress was too soft for us but that's debatable. It was all cleaned in a sufficient way: not that bad but I was expecting higher standard from Holiday Inn. Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room. Regarding common spaces of the hotel and breakfast it was all ok, staff were friendly. Bar in the lobby is open 24hrs. for a choice of food and beverages, that might be convenient. Overall it's a good hotel but I'd expect more if compared to the price per room, I strongly suggest to renew older rooms to give a better service to customers and to mantain Holiday Inn's standard. Please take this as an advice to improve your level - don't want to criticize. I then againg say that maybe we've just been unlucky with older rooms (but in this case you should lower price).
Stayed here for one night in April as a family. The hotel is located within walking distance of London Zoo (which is why we chose it) and next to Camden Lock. The lock area is extremely busy and noisy and rather rough. Bouncers on the doors of the local pubs. The lock itself is really intersting to look at and a piece of historical engineering but best checked out earlier in the day or there are so many people drinking and partying lockside there is barely space to breath. We were greeted in the hotel as IHG members. The children received a VIK plastic bracelet and a snack from the bar. We had a free newspaper and late check out. The room we were given on the fourth floor was extremely small for four people, barely room to walk around each bed. I am glad it was just for a single night as it would have been unbearable for much longer, such little space for a child to be in. The 'view' out of our window was of a brick wall as far as the eyes could see, left, right, up or down. The staff had written "happy birthday" on the mirror in our room and had left cupcakes for us which helped the children feel welcome and less panicked about being in such a tiny room. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was a wide choice of different options, both cold and hot, but we didn't think particularly good quality. There are many different places to eat in the local area including a food market lockside. We didn't think the price of over 160 a night was warranted for a view of a brick wall and such a tiny room.
We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. All of the staff in the hotel are exceptionally friendly and went out of their way each time we needed help. The hotel were perfectly located and after a great breakfast we headed out each day to explore the sites. We downloaded city matter which made planning our journeys very easy and we hopped in an Uber when the children were tired. The beds were comfy and clean not brand new but perfectly adequate when just using as a base to sleep. Thanks to all the staff who helped make out first family trip to London successful 😊
All I can say is that everything you look for in an easy, pleasant and clean stay is catered for at this hotel. Allowed early check in, location brilliant, staff superb, rooms quiet and very clean. Completely recommend
I stayed overnight on a Saturday on a business trip, check in was smooth and staff friendly. My room was clean and as expected for the hotel. My colleagues and I went to have dinner in the restaurant but it was full of people playing board games and no staff to be seen anywhere. We went down to eat in the bar but were disappointed to find the menu was different to the online menu we had researched earlier. We all ordered the falafel burger only to be told they were not available, so we chose alternatives. The food was as expected for this hotel. Communal toilets were clean. We retired for the evening around 11pm, during the night another room on our floor decided to have a party/ gathering in their room. The noise was horrendous, screaming, shouting, laughing, banging etc, staff came up in the night to speak with them but the noise level didn’t improve until 3:50am, clocks had gone forward and our alarms went off for work at 5am. I was disappointed in my visit, it is the worst Holliday inn I have ever stayed in, such a shame as it’s not the level of service I am used to.
Thank you so much for the incredible hospitality which made our weekend so special! As we arrived we were given a warm welcome and an upgrade with a fab view of the lock! The staff were absolutely amazing, our room was gorgeous with everything we needed in it ready, including a travel cot for our baby. We really enjoyed breakfast too- there was so much choice! Even though the staff were always busy they really made time for us and always made us feel welcome and appreciated. We will definitely be back, this was such a special weekend for us and we will always be grateful to you for the amazing time we had. Thank you all so much!
We went to this hotel as a fun base for a 2 night sightseeing visit to London. Its location is excellent fun exciting in a buzzing area. We arrived Sunday lunchtime the market was heaving a really good cosmopolitan atmosphere. The hotel was in a prime position. We were quickly checked in by the amazingly amenable staff. Our room was spacious and well appointed. We felt truly welcomed. After a walk round the market we returned to our room to find a welcome sign on the mirror and snacks and water placed on the table. The breakfast could not be faulted nor could the attitude of the bar and restaurant staff, very helpful and friendly. A lovely experience.
The staff here are consistently excellent and the location very convenient for the markets, lock area and the tube. The Northern line route means you can stay somewhere quirky and be in central London in fifteen minutes.
