We paid over £150 for essentially a bed for the night as the hotel obviously didn't have the staff for it being fully booked. When we arrived back froma concert we decided to have a drink in the bar. As we arrived the bar was packed had a solitary bar man who seemed to be busy stocking his fridge and not actually serving anyone??? He did this for at least 5 mins after we arrived but judging by the comments from others at the bar he had been doing this even longer! Eventually when he decided to serve anyone he declared all the glasses were too hot as they had just come out of the dishwasher. He then left the bar unoccupied for another 5 mins + whilst he went to get some new glasses!! Once back he started to pull the 1st pint for the now very busy bar and then informed us the barrel was empty!! We gave up and went to bed instead at this stage. Next morning my girlfriend tried to use the hair dryer to find it was broken, as the hotel don't have any spares they moved us to another room so she could use the hairdryer in there. No major complaint there but this led us only getting to breakfast just after 9am by which time there was no actually fully functioning breakfast available. No bacon, sausage, eggs or beans at the same time... spoke to three members of staff who just kept saying it will be out in a minute. Also it's worth mentioning that split food was all over the floor near the serving trays that wasn't cleaned up during our time in the restaurant. This could have caused someone to slip and fall quite easily!!! By 9.40 we had given up again and just had a piece of toast!!! We managed one glass of orange juice with that but couldn't both have one as the machine ran out and wasn't working again until after we left anyway!!! Very poor when the hotel had been fully booked well in advance due to a massive concert in the area. I did email the manager direct on leaving the hotel but he hasn't bothered to reply.. Very poor!!!
We have stayed here before when visiting the O2 so had some idea what to expect. The hotel is handily situated for the O2 and is generally a good, convenient place to stay. We were, however, particularly disappointed with breakfast. It was minimal to say the least, with little regard for vegetarians and very disorganised. The cooked food itself was not very tasty either. And when they say breakfast finishes at 10, they mean 10. Food was thrown away rather than leave it out for anyone who may have been slightly late down.
Easy access to tube and light railway - less than 5 minutes walk. Good bed, remarkably spacious bedroom and bathroom. An express breakfast was provided that had everything you might want and with good cooked options. Overall very good value.
Average hotel paid £50 for a night in London don't expect the Ritz! Hotel was clean and tidy, good location as near Canning Town tube station . Breakfast was very disappointed, very little choice. Staff are very friendly.
Upon my arrival at the holiday inn via the guest car park located at the back I was greeted with 5members of staff smoking at the door which was very close to the kitchen,I felt quite intimidated. I went to check in and was greeted by a very professional young lady who I think her costumer service skills are wasted and I could see her working at a very high end hotel, she was very accommodating and wish her the best for the future.on the way to my room there's was bed sheets outside doors plates and glasses assuming the cleaners hadn't finished 'I arrived at 2 in the afternoon!and the staff clearly had to have the fag brake"on entry to my room it was fair to say just about 'livable' !it smelt dirty and the toilet had smear marks .wifi didn't work and I had to move the bed to plug the phone in,I had a fair sleep tho .sheets were clean thankfully,in the morning I went for a cigarette. There was no smoking point so I exited through the doors at the bottom of the stairs which was fair to say out of the way as I smoked my cigarette 1 of the staff members came to the door and slammed the door in my face ,then a minute later another staff member came round from the front and rudely said ' YOU CANNOT GO THROUGH THESE DOORS IT IS A FIRE EXIT AND IT SETS THE ALARM OFF" I proceeded to inform him that a notice would of been suffican't. And without responding he walked off.I finished my fag and had to go through main reception past the 2 members of staff that confronted me ..again I was very intimidated and very embarrassed. I went back to my room to get ready for breakfast,as I arrived for breakfast the tables were some wat clean ,plates were left which took a while to be moved.I went to the buffet area ,thought there could of been more option, toast was left in the toaster .the scrambled eggs were to soft and tasted quite funny, the sausages were that dry the skin was not attached to the pork inside, the bacon also tasted funny and had white bits all over it .the croissants were the most appealing..and the fresh orange tasted like mouth wash. Over all I give the hotel 2stars
We chose this hotel for it's closeness to the 02, one tube stop on the London Underground(Jubilee Line) from Canning Town station or over the Thames via the Emirates Airline cable car, which had reduced fares for oyster cards. The hotel was typical of this chain, friendly welcome at check-in although after the concert the bar staff/ receptionist/duty managers not quite so efficient when trying to serve customers with drinks. The room had all the usual amenities, though the bathroom was a little tired.Comfortable bed, slept well until the fir alarm went off at 7.20am, not the hotel's fault, someone took a shower with out closing the bathroom door! the self-service breakfast was ample and plentiful hot(a choice of sausages, bacon, scrambled egg and beans) or cold cereals, yoghurts, croissants, etc plus tea, coffee and juices. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the O2.
Standard hotel, clean room and breakfast was alright. Staff were lovely and friendly, close to London O2 and also the tube station! Easy to find however not so safe as anyone could enter through the lift. A fire alarm went off at 6am when I checked outside nobody had left their rooms and it turned off after 7/8 minutes.
Stayed for 2 nights - day 1 the O2 for Maiden day 2 Wembley for play off final. This has everything you would expect from a Holiday Inn express only a little bit better. The location is excellent 2 mins from the Tune (Jubilee & DLR) and 5 minutes from the Emirates cable car! Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, staff kept everything well stocked and tables cleared a really calm and enjoyable experience both days of our stay. Will definitely be booking again!
It was easy to find, once you got of the tubes. It is a straight line, only a five minute walk if that! The staff was lovely, I couldn't be happier with the customer experience. The only downside, is the breakfast it isn't that nice to be honest, not much of a selection to chose from. Overall; great experience.
Room at very clean and well maintained, Reception Staff were very very friendly and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was nice and varied. Very Convenient for the Tube, Excel Center, London City Airport,02 Arena and the Emirates Cable Car. It is a bit expensive, but we did book last minute on as Bank Holiday weekend, while there was a major event on the Excel Centre/.
