A group of 5 of us stayed 1 night to see Take That at the O2. This hotel is in the perfect location, with a free shuttle ferry to the other side of the river and then a short ferry ride round to the O2. When we arrived around lunch time only one room was ready. We were given complimentary cookies and dropped off our bags before making our way to the restaurant for lunch. The food in the restaurant was lovely but service very slow! Our second room was not ready until after 4pm so we were given a complimentary glass of wine. The rooms were lovely but there was an awful smell of damp around the hotel and buckets placed to catch leaking water!!! This was not very nice and quite off putting!! Breakfast was great, loads of choice. I would stay again but the leaks/damp smell issue need sorting.
the hotel is in lovely location, nice views of the thames. we came for stop over to go to 02 arena to see ed sheeran, it was great getting a boat from canary wharf to the 02 return about 15 mins each way, relaxing way to get there , hotel provides free boat from hotel to canary wharf about 2 mins . breakfast was lovely too. sadly we must have got the worst room in the hotel room 316, terrible views of waste and rubbish grr, we hardly slept all night with crashing, banging ,beeping of refuse and recycling vans and staff on and off dumping things . i even had ear plugs in and still was woken up. this sadly spoilt our stay. the hotel wasnt full as i had asked as we checked in , so theres no way they should use noisy rooms when they have other rooms, i used to be a hotel receptionist for years so i know we knew which rooms were to be given out last as not as good as others for various reasons. i complained at reception before we left she told me she wasnt aware of lots of complaints which i find hard to believe, but admitted upon her arrival to work she saw refuse vans in this area, but would take notes of my comments and i had to complain to my agency re this, she this wasnt helpful, my agents not replying to phone and email i got back told me to complain to hotel, easy way out blaming each other, i got no way, i dont recommend this hotel now as i dont think i was dealt with correctly at reception, not nice being kept awake, you dont want to ring reception and pack up cases and try and move rooms middle of the night, when we arrived at our room and it was very noisy i jokingly said to my daughter hope we dont get kept awake with this terrible noise and she said no theyre sorting the rubbish out now they wouldnt do that hence not asking for a room change straight away as we were only there 1 night , so anyone booking this hotel make sure your room doesnt over look the refuse area, we also expected free wifi but there wasnt any
Stayed here for 1 Night earlier this year when attending a Gig at The 02 in London. Nearest Tube is Canary Wharf and The Complementary Hotel Boat Shuttle takes you across The Dockland to The Hotel. On arrival we were greeted by a very helpful and friendly member of staff at Reception. I had registered by The Hilton Honours Before booking and booked through this. When we arrived and were checking in we were informed we had been given an upgrade to a King Room with a view of the River. You also receive Warm Cookies on Checkin which is a nice touch. The room was fantastic. Spotless clean, Huge Bed with great views of The Thames and Canary Wharf. We didn't eat in The Hotel so can't comment on this but had some Drinks in the bar which was great and had a good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this Hotel for stays close to Canary Wharf or The O2. We will stay again.
This is my second and definitely last visit. The AC in the hotel was not working. What made me mad is that they knew AC was faulty but gave me a room anyway. Once I came back to reception and asked for a different room, then they admitted it. I am moved to another room... which didn't have a working AC either. Also my new room didnt have any windows. There is a glass but it is covered with a white film. I couldnt see outside. They offered me free water (I am not kidding). The rest of facilities are old but reasonably OK. I am no longer a customer.
Had a great stay and loved the breakfast here and the ferry over to Canary Wharf. I was let down by the air con in the room on a sweltering day in London. It was non existent and only discovered this to late to sort
Company booked some rooms here never been before, lovely area on the Thames boat taxi adjacent to hotel to get into Canary Wharf and 10 minute walk to the bars there. It was the hottest week of the year and roasting the Air conditioning was playing up due to the heat which the receptionist advised when I booked in which I liked as I want to know before I walk into a room. My room was large beautiful view on the ground floor but no air con..... but the room was cool in all fairness compared to outside, popped to the bar for a cheeky beer and I noticed the General Manager talking to his staff when he was free I asked if he could possibly arrange for a fan in my room, he said I can have his fan in his office now that is customer service to say the least, and true to his word when I got back to my room the fan was there! okay my room had no air con the fan was fine, and when someone makes such an effort how could I moan, I stop in London for work and pleasure regularly and I will be stopping here for pleasure next time. Lovely hotel, great food, beer and location and I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you very much for making my stay as comfortable as possible great staff and excellent General Manager!.
Hi I stayed with friends , I could not share one issue. Staff polite helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and air conditioned. The dinning was lovely clean and lots of choice for all diverse needs again staff were very accommodating. There is a free ferry crossing to and from hotel and this is available till midnight which is very useful when accessing events across the water. Lovely Terrence to sit and have your food . Will defiantly return.
My fiance and I booked for afternoon tea on the Terrace with unlimited fizz and we were not disappointed. The ferry across from Canary Wharf made the journey much easier and the staff were attentive and friendly. The food and cava were lovely and they even brought us out a special celebratory cake as it was our anniversary. Would definitely recommend!
I decided to stay here after a concert at the Olympic stadium. I was looking forward to a pleasant stay and pretty much every interaction with staff was negative. The parking was closed and had a sign to call the duty manager, who didnt answer the phone so we had to abandon the car and park after check-in. The check-in agent was very poor. I showed him my booking on my phone and he still called me the wrong name and couldnt find two rooms. After checking in we went to the bar for a couple of drinks. A lot of people from the concert were are the hotel and the queue was long. But despite 6 staff behind the bar they couldnt cope. Only one person seemed to know how to use the till and the service was dreadfully slow. They have NO bar snacks which is probably a ploy for people to eat in the restaurant but at midnight they should have something. There were Mgr looking people milling around and one brought us round some free cookies which was a nice touch but noone seemed to be in control. The hotel is a maze and I would hate to end up in an emergency here......If you have mobility issues I would pass on this hotel. Finally when checking out I explained I had prepaid and paid in cash and was asked to wait "no that I don't trust you". That is exactly what it was and the way conveyed was extremely patronising. I have stayed in Double Trees all over the world and this was by some way the poorest of them all and I will not stay here ever again.
This is a beautiful hotel in the Docklands region of east London. It is nestled on the Thames in a quiet suburban neighborhood area. A London metro bus stop is right in front of the hotel. We spent 5 days here and absolutely loved it. We had a family sypuite and the 2 bedroom suitewas well sized for our family of 4 (2 teens). The executive lounge is always stocked. The in house restaurant and bar was excellent in service & quality. Our check in was handled by Lucy, a young lady from Spain. She greated us by name each time she saw us through our stay and made extra effort to help us as well (the type of personal service that draws us to Hilton branded hotels). We would stay here again in a heart beat. If you are exploring London, you have quick access to a metro bus stop and a complemtary ferry to the water taxis. Id recommend the water taxis. It was much quicker and more scenic than ground metro travel (London proper has horendous traffic).
