DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London ExCel4.0 out of 5.0

After an absolute nightmare three hours leaving a gig at Stratford, we finally arrived at 1.30am to check in. The wonderful man on reception could clearly see how exhausted we were (especially me at 8+ months pregnant!) and after a little issue with parking, kindly upgraded us to a suite with lovely views across London. As we were only there a short time we didn't use any other facilities, but the room was fantastic. We've stayed previously and also had a good experience. Only downside is, as previous reviews has mentioned, if you can't fit in the small car park, you have to park in pay and display, but it doesn't operate until 9.30am, so you have to make sure you get out in time to get a ticket in your car! Also the machine wasn't working when we stayed so had to go to the premier inn next door to get a ticket.
Hotel is clean and airy. Breakfast is good and rooms are very comfortable. Have stayed here a few times and always happy to come back. Service in generally good and I have no major complaints. Only very minor moans are.....in the bar they dont have the beer glasses to match the beer and as a Hilton Honors member when you check in via the app you dont always get the upgrade as a diamond member coz they think you picked you room this is not a criticism of the hotel rather of the Honors app....dont check in on line there is no benefit unless you know the specific room you want. Last 2 times I came here without checking in online and I got upgraded to a suite. The restaurant is ok with a reasonable menu but I ordered what I thought was king prawns with lime and chorizo as a starter....certainly couldnt taste the lime and I found the chorizo under a piece of sweetcorn. That sounds a bit negative and perhaps a little unfair but it lacked taste. Maybe I was just in a negative mood.............I would still recommend staying here though.
This is a really nice hotel. Stayed for 2 nights in the middle of June. The staff were very professional and friendly, delivering great customer service. The rooms were a good size, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Would recommend a stay here.
Absolutely appalling hotel and service. Rooms were filthy and staff couldn't care less about you. Made to feel like a burden despite paying a lot of money to stay there. Would not recommend to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere else!
Excellent nights stay here...good location after an O2 concert. Clean, quiet and recently refurbished, the hotel upkeeps the standards and quality you expect from the group. Hot cookies on check in were a nice touch, super bar area. Breakfast was excellent, with every choice imaginable (even the ingredients for a bloody mary), although for the room rate we paid, I feel it should have been included. Overall excellent.
Great place to stay. Close to Exhibition Centre. Pleasant staff and they are so helpful. Nice room view. Good breakfast. Bar staff was fantastic and they always trying their best to deliver good service. I felt the Bar staff was not enough to cater the crowed during busy days. I notice that the Bar staff was trying their level best to keep service level up to standard.
There were many hotels to chose from in the area but I decided on the Double Tree and joined as a Hilton Honours member. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and even gave us a warm cookie on arrival. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. I would stay here again without question
We stayed at the hotel for one night when we were attending the Guns N Roses gig at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. On arrival the receptionist was just lovely, so helpful and gave us advice about getting to the stadium and where to find things in the hotel. All the staff we encountered from the breakfast staff to check out were so friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again. Room was very clean and loved the shower :) breakfast the next morning was lovely and loads to choose from. Oh and the warm cookie on arrival was fab!
I got the worst service here. Check in and check out was really slow. Also for breakfast there was no coffee machine, I had to ask for coffee, and, after a very long time, the waiter finally brought. Small cup of coffee Btw the pillows were hard! Really disappointed by this stay, I have been at other Hilton Doubletrees and experience was much better...
I have just experienced the best service at a hotel that I did not stay at! Made a booking through an agent who would not let me cancel within 24hrs due to 'policy'. I then spoke to the hotel direct who have gone out of their way to help (contacted agent by phone) and I now have a voucher to use for 1 night in the near future. This saved me £120. The fact that they (Kelly in sales) has gone to this effort when she was not obliged to goes to show that there are certainly good people out there. She is a credit to the hotel. This experience leaves an extremely good impression of the hotel and would certainly use them again purely based on this event. Well done.
