Great hotel with comfortable beds in a quiet neighbourhood. Very safe to walk around even at night, follow the river to the cable car (under 10min walk or use the DLR which is about the same distance). There are plenty of places to eat in this area, as well as a Tesco Express for anything you may have forgotten.

Of course, because of location there's a huge variation in pricing dependent upon demand. This means if you're paying £170+ per night I suggest you're getting an average room. No fridge, had to walk down to bar to ask for ice. HH Gold/Diamond complimentary water was therefore warm Expensive room service £20 (incl £5 fee) for an overcooked burger. The cold water pressure was not working correctly on my check out morning therefore shower was useless - scalding hot or a warm dribble. I thought the restaurant / bar area was great, especially on a warm evening you can sit out next to the river and watch the planes come into LCY. There's a Travelodge literally over the bridge which may prove better value if you dont want a fridge or room service.

Located close by the London City Airport (15 minute walk) and the exhibition center. I didn’t hear any airplanes. Quiet hotel. The view out of the room was a shame (see the picture)- no Honors upgrade as well. Room had an average size but was very clean. Can recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very nice and great location with some fabulous views depending on your bedroom. The bar is well appointed and comfortable but we did not find out about Happy Hour till our last night !!! The breakfast would have been a lot nicer if the plates were hot. Bedrooms well appointed with an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, The bathroom could have done with more ventilation as it steamed up when having a shower.

Arguing/shouting/fighting outside room at 4am one night. Another night men in hoodies outside my door clearly in to meet someone in the room next to me (loudly talking, playing music, smell of weed coming from that room) Don’t need a key card to access lifts/floors etc. Felt very unsafe as a solo female staying in the property. Bathrooms not up to scratch. Not a 4-star hotel. Expect more from Doubletree!

stayed for 13 days very convenient location for Excel, 5 mins walk through a parking lot. again 5 mins to 2 public transport DLR station. next to river, scenic environment which has positive effect on you in the morning and afternoon. lastly: great breakfast and service, plus the real highlight is their coffee.

Had a awful experience me and my now wife got married on Wednesday and I booked into your hotel for Friday night for one night as we couldn’t afford a honemoon after paying for the wedding the budget was limited. We planned to go and watch a show. I booked the hotel on and paid £95.04. When we arrived at the hotel on Friday I informed that we had already paid for the room but the receptionist said it wasn’t taken so I had to pay another 145.04 which included a £50 bond which was never made clear to me when I booked it. However when we went into London to pay for tickets and a meal my card declined when I check my back Hilton doubletree had taken not only the 145.04 but also the 95.04 meaning I paid twice for the room. This left me in a very embarrassing situation and a very very upset wife. It literally ruined our night away and was a complete waste of time. When I complained about this at the reception the staff couldn’t really speak very good English and all they could say was that it will be refunded in the next 5 days. This was no good to me at all, very very deeply upset about the whole escapade. I stayed in room 408

The hotel is cheap for London, hence me booking again after my last poor experience. First impression was awful - I couldn't get to the hotel as lots of roads and paths were closed because of the nearby arms fair. I wish the hotel had warned of this in advance, and recommended using Royal Albert station which is easily accessible, rather than Prince Regent. Check-in was quick, but when I got to the room I found I'd been downgraded since looking online earlier. Trip back to reception where it was quickly rectified, although no real apology or explanation. The room itself was lovely - well worth getting a room with a water view. The views of the water were wonderful, and you get a good view of planes using the nearby London City Airport. Rooms were well soundproofed so I could hear hardly anything from the planes. I didn't realise until too late that there was a fairly noisy fan/air conditioning in the room. It kept me awake most of the night, tossing and turning until 3am when I finally fell asleep for a few hours. I couldn't find a way to turn the fan off. Breakfast was quite good - plenty of choice and it wasn't too busy early on a Saturday morning. Took a while to find spoons for the cereal, which was a bit odd - hidden away behind. All the cooked items were cooked well and tasted good. The bar had a nice atmosphere and felt quite comfortable. Reception was really busy with long queues when I left, so I didn't get a chance to discuss the noisy fan. Room 436.

We booked a night at the Doubletree hotel near Excel and was not disappointed. Very friendly welcome at the reception, given a clean and comfortable room overlooking the Thames. The evening meal and breakfast was excellent, plenty of food options served with friendly staff. Close to the DLR railway to get you into the city which runs very frequently. A wonderful hotel by the river.

We discovered the restaurant at Doubletree by Hilton London ExCel Christmas 2017. The service from the staff was brilliant and the food was great. The setting and dressing of restaurant is simple, clean and stylish. We have continued to go back; Christmas 2018 and recently this month to celebrate a special family birthday with a group of 20 people. The restaurant manager and staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Looking forward to hopefully spending Christmas 2019 there tucking into the delicious spread. Thanks x
