The hotel was closed and we had to find a new hotel so will need a refund and compensation
I flew in from America show up to my hotel and there's a sign on the door saying that the hotel is closed. Just like that. No warning. No email, no text. Nothing ahead of time. Just show up and find out that it's not open for business. I tried to file for travel insurance. They said that that type of incident is not covered. At least I got my refund but had to pay double for a new hotel. Absolutely horrible. No communication.

1 star is not the rate for Colonnade Hotel. Is for hotels.com platform!!! The reason is that I had 3 nights booking for 2 persons (23-26 December). We went to the hotel at Tuesday 23 Dec. around 7pm just to see the hotel CLOSED and a note attached in the main door saying that the company went into administration (insolvency), leading to an immediate closure (1st photo). I booked another hotel nearby, and contacted hotels.com (via website chat) explaining the situation, and ask for refund (as it was in 2nd paragraph in the note). They said that they will contact the hotel (which is closed, and no one will answer!) to check. Finally I received an email from hotels.com saying "After multiple attempts to contact the property on your behalf, we were unable to obtain approval for a waiver. Based on this, the original cancellation policy will apply." which means NO REFUND!!!
The second time I've stayed at this hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy, and only a short walk from Warwick Avenue Underground station and Little Venice.
Behind the hotel is a bar/off-licence called 'Real Drinks', lots of different beverages you can drink in or take away, and a superb pub called 'The Prince Alfred'.
I absolutely LOVED my stay at The Colonnade. The staff was very friendly and helpful and my room was great! There was plenty of hot water when I showered, housekeeping was great! The hotel was conveniently located to the Warwick Metro which was literally 2min away or an easy maybe 15min tops walk to Paddington Station. The area was safe and quiet and had some great restaurants and an amazing pub literally just around the corner.
I can’t wait to come back

The decoration was tired and the bedroom curtains needed replacing and the wall paper changed as it was falling off the wall.
Breakfast was sparce.
Staff was very welcoming however I was very disappointed with my stay overall. Bathroom was not very clean, hair and gunc in shower. Also no hot water for a shower, when I asked staff I was told to also run the tap in the sink which did then bring through some luke warm water but not acceptable for a shower or for the price paid for stay.

Disliked: Staff & service
The property was fine to crash for the night after a work event.
The worst part of the stay was the check-in. It felt more like a customs interrogation in Eastern Europe than a hotel check-in!
There wasn't a lot of communication, a bit of false advertisement, and little welcome. And no lift to upper floors, beware light handicaps.

Overall the visit was really good.. loved the daily room clean. And how pleasant and helpful the staff where..
The room was dated, however that is because the place is victorian.
The decor some things where like the carpet was frayed in patches and a few places has cracks in the wall and out side front window. Bathroom clean though as well had cracked paint on the front panel.
Staff are friendly and helpful..
Overall was good.
Pathetic hotel and please avoid at all costs
The rooms are in horrible state and not to mention antic lift
Just nothing right about this place

Very few amount of electric sockets in the room especially with 1 of the broken. The room was clean on 1st appearance but top of cupboard covered in dust. Room interior is dated including carpet, little amount of storage room.
Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful especially on helping us to store our cases on checkout day so we could have a final day in the city without our luggage. Very close to the nearest underground station
Had a great stay here and will definitely return. Plenty of charm in the building and great location. Very impressive staff who took great care and were friendly and helpful

Cheap but needs an upgrade
Friendly staff, but old and tired hotel. Lots of unfinished fixings, and no hot water (in two stays)
In desperate need of a refurbishment, with many facilities in the room not working prperly.
Close to a tube statino is the only positive I have for this property.
