Liked that this hotel didn't look like a standard chain hotel- lots of quirky details and lovely architecture. The room was well decorated and very comfortable. Only 3 rooms on our floor so possibly the quietest place I've ever stayed. The staff are lovely and really friendly and helpful from reception to the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good and good value as well. The service was great. 2 tiny quibbles- the air con in the room sounded like a monster gurgling and parking was a bit confused. Other than that this is a great central place to stay with a character that's missing from chain hotels these days.
I like to keep up my Diamond Hilton Honours membership, so I do stay a lot in the Hilton chain... This is the finest Doubletree I have stayed in, it also gives some Hilton’s the run for their money.. The breakfast bar, is stunning, up on par with the Hilton Park Lane.. highly recommended
This review is literally 5 months (today) too late, but thought I'd written it earlier. We got married here on 8th September 2017. Literally couldn't have picked a better venue. It was superb from the beginning to the end, and all my guests agreed. The staff were absolutely amazing, and the day flowed perfectly. They sorted everything for us on the day, so we didn't have to stress about a single thing (even when a family member fell unwell and an ambulance had to be called). Although they were all amazing, there was one lady in particular (Nicky) who really just went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was with us from when we arrived, until when our last guest left at early hours in the morning. Literally every single guest commented on how amazing and grand the building was, especially for the centre of town. The food was fantastic, and the alcohol was even better ;) Getting upgraded by Mr Koukash himself to the Presidential Suite was the icing on the cake! He even very kindly popped his head into the party a few times to check we were happy with everything. 5* service without a doubt! Just wish we could do it all over again!
Staying here at the minute have to say it's one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in we're in room 605 which has a very comfortable bed and pillows and a great walk in shower a big flat screen Tele and tea making facilities the staff are really friendly we arrived yesterday at 920am and had no problem checking in early location is also excellent close to the famous matthew street highly recommend
Very helpful staff. Good quality hotel, nicely decorated. Top quality room with very well fitted out and with all the extras. Breakfast over-priced and service poor. At these prices I do not expect table to be partly cleared when going up fro my cooked breakfast. Bar service for food at lunch far too slow bearing in mind it was very empty.
We stayed here to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The hotel is a ten minute walk from Lime Street station and a similar distance from Albert Dock and Liverpool One. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet; what I look for in a hotel. The hotel bar was a welcoming place on a cold winter weekend, although a little pricey, the second night we bought a bottle at the nearby Tesco. Breakfasts were pretty good, probably deserving 4 stars. We didn't use the spa, and were a little put off by the £15 per person charge. The location and upmarket feel do on balance justify a 5 star rating. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Not a bad word to say at all! From the moment we went in staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough! We stayed in 702 which was a HH floor and it was beyond expectations! The shower was huge, got the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages and the free bottled water helped cure the heads the next morning! Special mention to the spa Connected cause that was insane! We plan on making this our place to stay when we eventually go back to Liverpool, very very happy customers. (Also cookies were bomb, not for my waist though)
Visited on business. Well positioned hotel, very clean and well presented exterior. Friendly staff upon arrival. Parking is in a multi storey about 3 minutes walk, just up the road. If you take your ticket to reception, I'm sure you can reimburse the cost of parking. Reception team very friendly, breakfast team wonderful and very outgoing, bar staff just as great, very friendly with some classic 'scouse' warmth and humour. Rooms are fine! Couple of niggles but again, all the norm, no bath but just a shower which is ok, we had two rooms booked of which one had a wonderful view and sadly, the second just overlooked what seemed to be the back of the kitchen so I would suggest you ask for a street facing room or room with the best view possible as we didn't. Facilities good, good Wifi. Final niggle would be that of the extra charge for the use of the pool, even for guests. I do disagree and feel that's wrong but there we are, I wouldn't expect my staying guests to pay an extra approx. £20pp for pool use, shame but otherwise a cracking central hotel with plenty to see and do around it.
The room was very small for the price with a blacked out window so no view of anything. Bathroom was very good and bed was comfortable. Hotel in a very good location and staff are very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was average. Overall not a bad place to stay but the room and breakfast underwhelmed us.
This hotel is centrally located although this does make it popular on match weekends. Breakfast is good and starts the day off well. The Mersey river and Albert Dock are not far from the front door as is Liverpool One.
