DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool4.0 out of 5.0

Friendly and professional concierge, bar and breakfast staff await you at the Double Tree Hilton which is centrally located. The bar was pleasant and the breakfast served of high quality. Room however was disappointing due to the scuffs and marks on wall by door way and soft mattress and flat pillows! When mentioned to reception staff at checkout about these issues which had resulted in a poor nights sleep they appeared un-interested which did not meet the usual high standard of Hilton customer care which left us overall, unfortunately, disappointed with our stay.
My husband and I love this hotel. It's always our first choice when we go to Liverpool. The hotel is clean, the staff so friendly and helpful, the restaurant has great food and the location is ideal - close to train, bus and a short walk to the dock.
Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights while going to a Liverpool match and I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel ( and I'm fussy ) The staff are just incredible, so friendly and cannot do enough to help you. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with a huge TV. Duvets and pillows were really cosy too! We had breakfast both mornings and dinner on our second night and both were delicious . Our first night the bar had an offer on a bottle of prosecco for £15 and the second night it was 2 cocktails for £10... very reasonable!! Overall it was a great experience and as I said earlier, the staff really stood out to us... second to none we have ever come across . Will definitely return 😊
We usually stay at the Hilton but gave this hotel a try for a weekend break up to watch the football. I will be torn next time as this hotel has a lot going for it! location is great, being on the edge of the main shopping street and walking distance to docks and Sell St for great restaurants. Nothing bad to report location wise and even the parking at Q-Park opposite the hotel is secure and reasonable at £10 a day with the discount for guests. The hotel is better than the main Hilton in my opinion, with better rooms and friendly staff approach you will find at a smaller property. The spa is the plus point, which gives this hotel the edge over others. A nice pool, sauna and lovel spa staff with a relaxed atmosphere. It made Sunday morning a nice treat ahead of the trip home. Breakfast and the restaurant is everything you would expect, with good fresh selections constantly topped up and well presented. Cooked and continental breakfast and plenty of healthy options as well. We stayed in King rooms and if you can get a corner room, this has a larger bathroom with two sinks. Both were fine though. Only criticism would be the lovely large tubs take forever to fill and the temp of the hotel water was just about OK, unless you like it piping hot! Downsides are few and far between. When the bar charges £4.39 for a J2O soft drink, I think this is a bit steep. We only used the bar the once as there were plenty of great options nearby. Yes the Main Hilton has a exec lounge, but all things considered, I would look forward to going back to this hotel and avoiding the dated rooms at Hilton.
Stayed here for the location. Location of the room was terrible - up and down staircase and a gay drag queen club outside and noisy. Garbage trucks at 7am crashing bottles. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Terrible choices for bread, fruit, yoghurt, cereal. Experienced better in a 3 star B and B. Breakfast restaurant staff were terrible. Tea served out of a catering jug instead of individual pots.
This hotel is quite dark, with very old fashioned decor in the bar. Travelling in a group, we were given a buffet dinner downstairs which was very ordinary. The beds were extraordinarily high and quite soft. Reception staff were not terribly interested. Decor in the room very basic. Only stayed one night and couldn't wait to get out of the place. One star is for breakfast buffet which was quite good. One star is for the room door having a lock. I'm afraid I just can't find anything else positive to say. We were very disappointed, especially for a Hilton Hotel.
Luke on front of house is excellent and very helpful. Staff in general are very good . Rooms are clean and comfortable and the spa was amazing . Breakfast was awesome . Please try it . The hotel is walking distance to main areas of Liverpool
Visited here with a Gift voucher from Son. Wow! As soon as you walk in the building takes your breath away. Very classy. Beautiful furnishings. Restaurant really nice. Our Waitress Emma very polite. Nothing too much trouble. The food really good. We thought the voucher was just roast dinner but had 3 choices on menu. I had shrimp cocktail for starters and fish and chips main. My hubby had the Sunday roast. Food very good. Would definitely visit here again. Would recommend to try it!
We stayed for a weekend wedding and had a great time. The hotel is in a superb location, right in the heart of the city but in a quiet street. The staff are friendly and efficient and we loved our room. Breakfast was good too. We'd definitely return.
