I awoke at 0600 on the morning of Father's Day 2017 to find numerous termites at my spouse's head, to include in her head. This now confirms the fact that she had opined something had been crawling on her arm all night. Upon photographing the wall adjacent to the head of my bed, which had about 10 to 15 on it, I then seized a few of my unwelcomed winged friends inside a coffee cup for proof positive. I quickly showed my sample to the front desk receptionist. Prior to showing them to her, she asked if they had wings, to which I said, Sure take a look. She promptly told me the hotel was going under a renovation in one month. I guess this makes it alright, huh? She did comp my room, which was only one of several requests I had made. As the supervisor was to arrive at 3:00 PM and the general manager, John BODMAN, to arrive the next day, I was out of luck. I called the 1-800 customer service line and filed a complaint there; however, 48 plus hours, I have yet to hear from the local General Manager, John BODMAN. If you're still the GM there, I'd love to talk to you. So much for being a former Diamond member. Happy Father's Day Hampton Inn - this memory will last a long time. Lessons learned - If I ever stay in a Hampton Inn again, ask upfront the last time their establishment was renovated, if they're under renovation, or expecting a renovation. That way when you find termites, you would have been warned. If I could figure a way to post my photos, I would.
Great, friendly staff at this location. Most are very noligble of the area and can give very helpful information with must see things to do and see in the area. The best part was the women helping in the breakfast area in the morning she was so delightful.
This hotel was showing it's age. The magnet holding the closet door was broken. The hotel ran out of coffee in the morning (7am) and the coffee later in the day was cold. The hotel had no hot water for two days and I was not offered any compensation. Staff was friendly, but the manager was inefficient. i would not stay here in the future.
Great customer service. The breakfast service was great and check in was super easy! It is in an area of town where good/ reasonable hotels are hard to find. Fantastic find and will be staying at this location upon visiting Houston.
Ms. D in the morning was amazing at breakfast.. beyond helpful and the maid service between day's cleaning up did a excellent job.. vending machine was not good on my floor. The water they offer as I was checking out was amazing.. I mean it is Texas.. staff was great and helpful about the night life as well.. definitely would recommend a stay here!!
I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It is a great location for the companies I call on and it has excellent value. The breakfast was quite good. At the moment, you just have to drive a bit around some highway construction, but its not an issue.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the staff made it even better. They were attentive to your needs and if there was some way in which they could better accommodate you they would. All of them were great, Ms Dee in the dining area was exceptional.
I was burned with hot water but hotel didn't have proper medication nor their staff know what to do. Next day I talked to their GM but he kept coming up with excuses. His answer was he still learning because this is his 3rd week.
Javaras was great at check in. Rooms were comfy when we arrived. Highly recommended when looking for a place to stay. Road construction was a bear....bit okay. We came here to visit friends and have a good time....this started the trip out well.
The breakfast will be the best part of your stay. The beds are okay, but the rooms are outdated and in need of serious updates. They are clean and the bathrooms are as well. The staff appear to just be here for a job, only person of any sunshine is your breakfast greeter, she is an amazing ray of sunshine. I tried two different "concession" machines that did not work and the coke machines on the 3rd floor did not work at all. Location is okay, road construction is a nightmare, but not the fault of the hotel. Plus side is there is a bar in the hotel next store and a pretty good BBQ restaurant on the other side.
