Old and ugly, and the Galleria stores were a disappointment, they had low inventory and many looked to be going out of business.
My fave hotel in Houston. The gym is pretty good. 45 minute workout. Starbucks just outside of the hotel mall entrance. Great pillows!!! This is my fourth time. Hard to beat!
After a 5-hour flight delay from Miami, we made it to Houston and Joyce (I believe that was her name) made our check-in process smooth and quick. Thank you! Also, the room was great, spacious and felt cozy. Location is unbeatable in the Galleria Mall, you don’t even have to step outside to access it with plenty of dinning and shopping options.
Breakfast at the Daily Grill was included, but the person who checked us in never mentioned it. I remembered the next morning and inquired. That’s when they gave us vouchers for it. Shower was excellent, room was comfortable, spacious and quiet, except for the third night when guests next door had a loud party late into the night, and we had to finally complain. In all, an agreeable stay.
To be honest I expected way more for the the name, “Westin” . This hotel needs work and too expensive for what it is . I would look somewhere else as this hotel is sub par for the money
Extreme bad smell around the property, especially on the way to parking lot. Also room conditions were bad. Sink was not draining the water, bath tub rusted etc..

I requested connecting rooms when I booked and called a day before checking in to confirm I had connecting rooms and was told that I did. But when I checked in they could not put me in a connecting room so my husband stayed with kid in one room and I stayed in another room down the hall with my other kids. Staff could not help us because we didn’t book through them.
The fact tht you can wake up and go to the mall was a huge plus. And the hotel is located in the heart of everything! This is the only hotel I was stay at when I’m visiting the Houston area! I love it here!!
I didn’t like that there is not direct access to the hotel from the parking garage. Internet is available for an added fee
