DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Houston by the Galleria

Near the Shopping Mall The Galleria in Houston with a quiet place and a good pool. Rooms are good and clean, as well as the bathroom. Good place to stay.

I was really disappointed by the fact that this hotel is the first I ever seen that does not provide free wifi. I even tried purchasing their paid plan but their website is so buggy it kept giving me error codes so I was stuck without wifi and I needed it to get work stuff done. Parking fee was 20$ a day which was a shock considering I had never had to pay that fee in any other high end hotels before. The room did not even include water. they had a cofee machine but no water...... to make the cofee with. fridge had no drinks or mini bar. This is the kind of experience I'd expect from a very low budget hotel not a 4-Star they claim to be. This will probably be my last stay at any hilton hotel.

I was served by Manager Bo. He was very nice and made me feel very much welcome and appreciated! Room was very clean. When I told room service I needed regular coffee. They immediately brought to my room.

1st positives: In room/suite kitchen was a nice touch. Great location. Nice sized TV's in bedroom and living space areas. Now the negatives: Kept me waiting 10+ mins to check in. Clogged sink and bathtub: gunk removed to clear clogs got spilled all over my toiletries - very nasty; I shouldn't have had to see that at all. Still traumatized by the sight and thought of it. To housekeeping's credit, they cleaned up the mess. Poorly lit room - could use an extra lamp or 2 to brighten up the place. Taking future lodging chances elsewhere. Avoiding DoubleTree's as a whole as a result of this experience.

The hotel was okay. Pretty clean. Modern. My biggest complaint was that the staff wasn't very friendly and they charged for everything. $24 a day to park. No informational book in your room for room service etc... very shaky elevator. Walls are very thin in rooms. Wasn't impressed. Probably won't stay there again. However location was nice and within walking distance to a lot.

We stayed in a suite on the 13th floor. It got a kitchen, a living room, and king size bed. Overall, it was a great experience. The kitchen has a microwave, a stove, a refrigerator, and some plates. If you want pots or utensil, the front desk might be able to provide. Our room rate included free breakfast which was good, but I wouldn't pay $10 for it. A few concerns: 1. There was noise caused by the wind (my guess) thru the balcony door. 2. The comforter was too warm. 3. The AC would blow to my face directly.

It's good and nice view hotel but it needs to remodel the stuff like bathroom

Great experience Nice area would highly recommend!!!!! Felt secure

Very family friendly hotel. Staff was extremely courteous

Had to call front desk to ask neighbors to turn music down but security knocked on our door...

Derek Hotel is definitely a 5 star hotel from the valet to the front desk to the interior design of the room.Love this hotel

This is a nice hotel, but what made it great was the staff. One woman at the front desk was especially helpful. She gave us the word on restaurants, movie theatres, and other sites to visit. She was right on. One night my teen girls were hungry, we bought a frozen snack, and she took it to her back office and microwaved it for us. Very friendly and helpful.

The experience we had was extremely negative. The Staff didnt attend. The rooms were not cleaned before 4 p.m.. If asked why to the staff, they answer: because we made before the ones that are leaving. A leak in the hall with a bucket to hold the water, everything was a mess. The internet was expensive and didnt work fine.
