We where there for a Saturday night Astros game. Valet was a little tough as it was right on the front of the hotel sharing with the main flow of traffic downtown. Check in staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was nice clean everything we had expeected. The next morning I was looking for some more coffee and remember that the breakfast and restaurant where on floor 2 so went down there kinda early as everyone in the room was still asleep. And was greeted with a kinda rude "We don't open till 7" and she turned and walked away not even allowing me to ask just if there was a place I could get some coffee. On the final bill deliverd to the room there was a charge from the mini fridge that later came to find out one of the children grabbed a snickers bar out of the fridge we put it back and the fridge is a sensor charge so once an item is removed it gets charged this was a little tough to handle with little children. All in all it was a pretty good stay.

Ok...but not a four or five star hotel.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Complementary breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel. Bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoe, grits and much more. I requested late check out, which was granted with a 50$ charge. This was wonderful because we had an 8pm flight. Checkout was for 4pm. Problem was cleaning staff seemed not to be informed, they knocked and tried to enter the room at least 5x after 12pm. This was very annoying as we were trying to rest before travel. Even after the do not disturb sign was placed, they continued to knock and tried to enter the room. Good thing the door had the lock on the inside. Outside of that, the stay was pleasant.

There was only one night that construction noise was a nuisance. Thereafter my stay was very peaceful and restful for all four evenings that I stayed at the hotel.

We only stayed overnight but enjoyed the happy hour and breakfast. Helpful staff clean facility

Perfect location for the business we had in downtown Houston

Staff is second to none. Awesome hotel, and the location is unbeatable. Plenty of dining and nightlife literally just 2 minutes away. Would prefer more smoking options in the bar, I like to have a cigar with my brandy in the evening.

Had a great time at the hotel. Staff was very nice. Got to enjoy the jucuzzi. After they closed the pool went down stairs to the second floor and played some pool and had some drinks from the bar. Played a little piano before we ended the night. Valet♦️Great lounge area♦️Pool♦️Jucuzzi

Hotel staff including front desk staff and valet/bell staff are awesome - far superior to Magnolia Dallas where we stayed the night before. Mostly disappointed in very small accommodations for over 300.00 per night. Very basic room, not much room to move. Rooms at Magnolia Dallas twice as large for much less per night. Perhaps just location of the hotel itself?

I really got disappointed about the Breakfast served, for a 4 star hotel. I think even a 3 star hotel like IBIS, Holliday in have a better breakfast. And that is not only the problem , the room where the Breakfast was served had a terrible smell that could compromise your clothes and so the meetings you have later. A friend a I had to go out to have breakfast in other hotel, like the Icon , near by. That means we expent 60 dollars each for the rest of our stay. I would not go back to Magnolia cause that problem.

Worst bathroom in downtown Old marble with no bullnose Needs a makeover pretty bad

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice pool and hot tub situation. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub extremely hot. I couldn't go in either. The sign at the hot tub stated if temp is above 104 don't go in. I like any temp in the range or below. The temp must have been at least 110. The pool temp was definitely under 70 degrees even though it was about 80 degrees outside for the past two weeks. Also, good luck laying out on this roof top deck. The chairs were as hard as concrete. When I politely complained to the girl behind the front desk, it went in one ear and out the other. She really could care less and had a myriad of excuses.

The Magnolia Hotel ranks very well on some key items (1) the location in downtown Houston is convenient to many offices, the opera house, symphony hall, Alley Theater, and upscale River Oaks (2) the rooms are spacious and comfortable and (3) a good breakfast buffet is provided free. However the hotel has limited room service and no restaurant--particularly awkward on Sunday when most restaurants in the neighborhood are closed. Also it charges significant fees for both parking and wifi. Altogether, an experience below the standard I expected from a 4- or 5-star hotel.

Great staff. I arrived at midnight, starving and room service had just ended for the day. The staff quickly found a few items for me. Everyone I encountered during my stay greeted me and acted with urgency when I asked for help. Rooms, beds, bath all very comfortable and pleasantly soundproof.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia. I was slightly disappointed that the hotel, while updated, did not seem to retain any of the charm I had expected from a hotel with this many years under it's belt. We were within walking distance of the Alley Theatre where we caught a show. We were able to walk down to a fantastic restaurant to have dinner. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was helpful and pleasant and we were thrilled with the option to order breakfast the night before that was delivered on time the next morning. Only real complaint was that while the breakfast was punctual, I wasn't too thrilled with my waffles. Personally, mine are better! ) Overall, fantastic experience.

Classy and elegant. Great weekend get away and awesome location in downtown Houston!

I stayed at the Magnolia twice while moving to Houston. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the free breakfast and complimentary happy hour are a great value, and my daughter loved the evening milk and cookies. A great hotel for the cost.

Every part of this hotel was quite nice. From rooms to employees.

Nice Disappointed never stayed at 4 star with just basic channels. Ice not on same floor over night parking to expensive
