I will never consider Extended Stay Hotels after this visit. Dirty, unreliable staff, and no hospitality whatsoever. From the moment we got there, we had to wait 1 hour for a room because they explained that they over booked. When we asked for new towels, we were told to hand over our "dirty rags" in order to get new fresh ones. The shower was smelly and I felt dirtier after. The bed had multiple stains and the floor and couch had blood stains. I am a true Orbitz fan and customer but I'm reconsidering their suggestions.
The hotel was among the least expensive in the Galleria area but you do get what you pay for. No maid service for the 4 days I was there resulting in the single, small garbage can overflowing. The microwave was dirty inside and the refrigerator had mold and stains, but only on the outside. The dresser drawers had dirt and hair - enough so that I left my clothes out. The lobby was non-existent and the breakfast was minimal, prepackaged, and often lacking in coffee. The room rate was low and so the amenities were consistent with what I paid.
housekeeping wasn't included, the room had a wierd smell, only one elevator worked and smelled like a dirty toilet.
I am not the Virgin Mary. I paid for my room OCTOBER 5th. When I arrived on October 18, there was no room for me. I was told all the rooms were filled. Orbitz confirmation indicated there was no need to call. Payment was previously paid but after arriving at 12 midnight it took them until 3:30 to "find me a room". Another person arrived a bit after me. She was from out of state and also there for a conference. She was told the same thing. The front desk person told me that several other people had the same problem. What type of business practice is this? Furthermore if full occupancy then the parking lot would be full. It wasn't!!
My husband and kids stayed in a two queen bed room. No housekeeping stopped by because they clean every 7 days. Breakfast was not breakfast just coffee!! No Pool!! There was never anyone around in the front desk! Horrible Hotel
The front desk staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the non-smoking room I stayed in smelled strongly of smoke. I reported this to the front desk and they were apologetic but did not discount my stay.
good: location and air conditioner, safe parking. bad: seemed very 'cheap'. no pen available in room, or paper. no full length mirror, scratchy towels, a full kitchen with no supplies (silverware, plates, etc)....they do offer these missing supplies, but you must request them from the front desk (maybe they have encountered theft in the past, it just seems inconvenient to walk a room which is bare). same in the bathroom, minimal shampoo and one tiny bar of soap( but they will bring you more if you ask). urine stain underneath toilet seat, the microwave had melted cheese all inside of it...and the tv was 'fair'...minimal channels and no channel guide to refer to. i paid $89, but it was probably worth maybe $69 at best. it's one tiny step up from a motel 6. that being said, it is what it is....it wasn't horrible...it just wasn't great.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean with everything relatively new and functioning. Immediately next door to excellent restaurant and 24 hour, big CVS. For a business trip, this place, for $135, was as good as something double the price. It is better than adequate
Hotel staff great! Hotel a little but overall kept up
Don't expect a hotel experience. they do not house-keep your room daily. you only get towel exchange at the front desk if you want.
This a great place to stay...room was very large...like the entire kitchen area...thought was really cool...nice hardwood floors...they really need to put more pillows in room and make the pillows bigger...the hotel is in a great location not far from Galeria Mall and other nice spots...the hotel did smell a little bit...but was nothing to outstanding...
five minutes walk from Galeria, what can be better?
Because of the Rodeo rooms were scarce in the low end hotels. This hotel nearly doubled its rate and people were still staying there. Overall it was good. Much better than the other reviews stated. Nice and clean, good TV, slow internet access which was not free. I would stay there again.
This hotel was in a convenient location for my business and for shopping. It was a few blocks from the Galleria and other shops, easy and safe walking distance to everything. Great little restaurant across the street, Le Peep, for that occasional meal out. Convenient 24hr. CVS around the corner. Hotel room was standard type room but felt more spacious than most. Kitchen was great, equipped with essentials only though.(No decaf coffee in the room!) Toilet didn't work but was fixed quickly, even though maintenance man left my door propped open long after he had gone......
not bad for the price.
We were visiting family. Our room was cleaned, and our bed was comfortable especially the pillows. Close distance to the mall. It would have made it more enjoyable if we had a larger flat screen tv. For the price I paid, I am happy with the room overall. I definatley got more for my money compared to Holiday Inn at the River Walk in San Antonio, Tx.
It was nice. I was there for a week and enjoyed it. Great location and price. Smoky smell in the bathroom (and I am not a smoker), but other than that, would stay again.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Everything else was horrible. There were roaches in both of the rooms we rented. We rented 2 rooms, we were a group of 4 friends. The staff wouldn't give us bedding (pillows/bedsheets) because they thought we would bring our own. Who does that when you rent a hotel room? There's no restaurant or breakfast. There's no staff to help you with your bags. The check-in lady seemed annoyed about even being at her job. And, there was still food in our fridge from previous guests when we checked in.
I went to visit a friend and I had a great time. The hotel was great they were very friendly.
Great staff. Nice, big kitchen in room w/ stovetop, full-sized fridge and sink. Great room rates, especially for the location (which is excellent). Carpet, linens, furnishings were shabby. Bathroom sink and tub were old, yellowed, and cracked. Toaster was broken. Only two clothes hangers in room. No disposable cups, pens, notepads, toiletries, or other such amenities. One must pay extra for maid service, wireless, etc. Not a problem due to the low room rates, but it would be nice to know these things going in. Not too many families or female business travelers as guests. A high number of non-professional male guests/traveling construction crews. As a single female, I would not stay here again.
