Great location, room 132 but deplorable and unhealthy conditions Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆
I stayed at the Quality Inn Riverside for two nights, and it was a very disappointing experience. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is excellent. It is steps away from Gatlinburg’s main attractions, right across from the Ober Mountain access, and very close to the most famous restaurant in town and a winery. The river views from the balcony are lovely, but that doesn't make up for the state of the hotel.
The rooms are in unacceptable condition. There was visible mold, a very foul odor, and the furniture was extremely old and falling apart. Both the floors and the beds were dirty. It was so bad that my children started coughing due to the room's environment; we only went back there to sleep because we had no other choice. Additionally, the elevators were not working properly, and the housekeeping service was poor.
This hotel has potential, but it clearly suffers from a lack of investment. For the price I paid, I saw much better options just a few blocks away for only $50 more. Don’t be fooled by the location—look for somewhere else.
