The front desk staff was super nice and the room was perfeftly cleaned
We booked a ocean view room and received a room in the building opposite side of the ocean. Room was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

Safety and cleanliness Nothing
I was here because my father was in ICU. I needed to check in before 4pm but my issue was that the response to my father is in ICU was we're running late because our power just came on. While I can sympathize with things that just happen, in the hospitality field, some empathy would have been nice in that moment. I had a meeting that I could not miss. There was nothing like, "I understand, we can call you as soon as your room is ready." Nothing. Luckily after looking all over town for a private place to take my meeting and striking out, I decided to call them around 3 to see if by chance my room was ready and it was. I was already stressed about my father and I asked the hospital for a space and I reached out to a local library and could not find a private space, to also have to manage this stress was unbelievable. There are times to follow the rules and times to make a small exception. Once I checked in I noticed other meeting rooms that did not seem to be used. They could have offered those in a pinch, something but to offer no customer service and no feeling at all, was just not what I was expecting from a Hilton hotel.

Upon arrival - I felt harassed by the employee who checked me in because I didn’t have a Hilton Honors account. The first room I was given was dirty. To the point that I went back down and requested another room. The 2nd room I was given had the do not disturb sign hanging on the door so I was a little scared to enter it. When I did - I found it was cleaner but the toilet paper holder was broken. Very different experience at this property. Seems the housekeeping staff needs a refresher course.
Great location since we wanted to go to Stewart Beach. Very clean, new, breakfast and evening "social" food was excellent. Front desk was very nice but unable to check-in because the rooms were not ready when I came at 3:00 and 3:30 (that was okay because the published checkin was 4PM). But the rooms were still not ready when we all came from the beach at 4:30 and 5pm. They did let us use the pool and basketball court while we waited. The real problem was NO WIFI on the 5th floor. I did talk to the front desk and took my ipad to them. I could get wifi internet access in the lobby but NOT in the room or anywhere on the 5th floor. I would stay there again if I could get assurance that wifi was working in the room and I was properly informed when the room would be available.
Quiet, spacious and family friendly are the words I would use to describe this property.
2nd stay at this hotel. First time was great. This time I was disappointed with the fact that they had almost NO breakfast available on a Sunday morning. In Galveston, in the busy season, when you know your hotel is booked....you probably want to order more food so you don’t run out. May also want to add staff to help the poor guy trying to keep up with it all.
This will be my new default hotel for future Galveston visits! Everything & everyone helped to make my (much too brief) visit a relaxing success. Was it PERFECT? Of course not... no hotel is. There were a couple of minor glitches not even worth mentioning. The only thing I could do without was paying a daily rate for unsecured parking. Maybe a roaming guard or, at least, a raising bar at the entrance would justify the parking fee. Other than that, THANK YOU, Homewood Suites by Hilton!

Room wasn’t ready for check-in time. We had to wait an hour to get in our room. Pool was very small. Location wasn’t as good as other places on the Seawall. Overall it was just ok but probably won’t stay there again
Our room was not ready for check in when we arrived at 6pm and we missed dinner reservations with a vendor client that was the purpose of our trip to Galveston.
