Advertised as 4 star on Orbtiz the property was filthy and not maintained at all. Do not go by the pictures. Only silver lining is the proximity to the beach.
This was a gem! Our first time visiting Galveston and we ended canceling our Airbnb and extended our stay here. Great staff, pool area and attached restaurant/bar. Everything is in walking distance and a great view of the Ocean. This place has history, it’s charming and the whole beachside experience was perfect. It can get a little noisy in the pool area depending on how rowdy the guests are, but our family of 3 had a blast enjoying authentic Galveston. We had our 1yr old Daughter with us and felt safe the whole time and met some great people. Also, great home cooked complimentary breakfast. If we ever return to Galveston, we will definitely be staying here again!!
Nice breakfast, beautiful view.
We spent 4 night no housekeeping at all, I had to walked every day to lobby for clean towels. Key for our room another issue every day after work key was not working. Smell of weed all night the first night. Second night couple had a fight and police came to our room know the at 1AM. Such a nightmare. Next door restaurant was amazing though.
A quaint, well-run, family-owned property facing the Gulf. Lots of nice "extra" touches in our room. Bathroom floor/baseboards could use some updating, but all was very clean.
TV was not working correctly. Maintenance never show up to fix the problem. You can hear everything in the next room. Bathroom towels are old.
Excellent breakfast. Swimming pool really nice, even though a little bit cold, and the hot tub was nice. Easy walk right across the street to the beach.
We had a great view while drinking coffe on the observatory deck.
Fun place to stay. Hotel is retro and rooms are pretty well maintained. Pool was advertised as being high point of property but it was not very clean and in need of repairs. Pool staff very unfriendly unlike rest of the staff on the property.
The a/c unit in our room sounded like it was going to blow up at any moment. It was so loud we didn't get any sleep. We had planned on staying 2 nights but checked out after the 1st night. Place is very dated and dirty.
They have to do something about the birds. they ruined the pool and outside breakfast
Older hotel in convenient location across from beach . Large pool. Nice play area for kids. Picked it due to breakfast reviews which was fresh and plenty of choices. Would stay again.
We booked this hotel for the pool area. It was so packed there was literally little space to no space for our kids to swim. Lots of ppl without wrist bands that were needed to use the pool. I’d rather spend more money on a better resort next time.
Loved the breakfast, the garden play area, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Traveling with young kids, we always worry about cleanliness and critters. We were very happy with our stay. Will be staying here in the future!
