Comfy beds. Amazing location. Right across street from beach. Every room has an ocean view & a WALK OUT BALCONY with chairs!! I saw reviews that said this proprty is old & not in good repair. The building is several decades old, you can tell. But it is well maintained & everything is clean. Old does not equal decrepit. The Hotel Galvez (super swanky hotel) was built in 1911! I saw more housekeeping staff here than I have at any hotel since before COVID. I received a call before I arrived to welcome me & texts while staying to check that all was as I wished. We loved sitting n balcony every morning to watch sun come up & every evening to relax & unwind. Located very near to restaurants, the beach, and many attractions. Next time we come to Galveston, we will definitely stay here again.
Outdated Hotel rusted and not clean. AC noisy
Way over priced for what you get. Thought I was booking a room for five with a pull out couch, but those rooms don’t exist at this property. The manager sent up an air mattress for us to solve the problem- which was nice.
We showed up after lunch time to check in. We were told checkin time was 4 pm. The room was available but significant early checkin fee I stay in different hotels every week. I’ve never heard of this before. We won’t be back. #VRBO
Liked the breakfast! Liked the closeness to the beach. Didn't like parking in back.
When i checked, is when i found out you had to pay for parking.
It was close to the restaurants, the beach and the Galveston Convention Center. However, I did not like that the doors open to the outside. The price to stay here was not cheap, but It had the feel of a motel as you entered your room. Although, the inside of the room was well kept and the bed was comfortable.
We never had room service for our entire stay, we were out by 8am everyday and arrived back after 3pm everyday. Only one elevator operational the entire time was inconvenient.
I liked the fact everything was right on the property live entertainment, great restaurant, pool and hot tub and across from beach
The staff was excellent, very welcoming and attentive. The in hotel dining was well prepared, a real step above normal chain hotels. and it was very nice to have a gorgeous view of the Gulf right outside the window. Traffic noise is quite loud as Seawall is a main transit route and seashore traffic is always louder than not but I sleep with ear plugs in anyway so it was no problem. And the view makes it totally worth it.
This place is an absolute dump. Not as advertised in pictures at all. There were non-guests hanging out in the parking lot that followed us up to the building. The property manager Svan is dishonest and a cheat. When we decided to stay elsewhere, He told me to contact orbitz for a refund. When Orbitz called, Svan rejected the refund multiple times. Don’t trust Orbitz or Svan if you have a problem upon arrival. Even though we booked through Orbitz again at the Tremont, they still refuse to give any refund, even after canceling the last few days of the stay within the 24 hour full refund period. Beware!
Friendly staff and services. Too much noise from room above and across from our room on the 7th floor.
At check-in I was told they were "upgrading" my room. What they actually did was to take my quiet room away from the noise and construction and give me one directly above it. At 3:00 a.m. crews started right below my room with erecting the finish line gear for a half marathon, at 6:00 a.m. music started blasting away, this continued to well past noon. Thanks for the upgrade!!!
The staff was awful they charged my card more than they said about $176 more. You had to pay for everything coffee was &3.50 for a to go cup I won’t b back
The staff was so polite. The room was clean.
Great Location on the seawall. Great ocean view. Good restaurants close by. Room had some issues. Shower handle is ready to fall off. the microwave turntable is broken. Several ac outlets didn't work. They charged for parking and I must have missed the note of that in the reservation. For the price, it must be for the location and view because the room should have been better maintained.
The staff is always so helpful and friendly. We love the view.
