Absoultley awful experience. 1. We had booked two twin rooms and were told when we arrived that we were only allowed to check into one room at that time. The room we were checked in to was awful. The bathroom floor was uneven, as was the toilet, the mirror was hung on the wall wonky, the glass on top of every piece of furniture over hung, the windows were disgustingly dirty and although we were on the second floor, everyone could see in, the beds weren't even single beds, they were more like the size of a toddler bed and I went to sit on one and moved 2 feet across the room as there were no locks on the wheels. 2. When we checked into the second room, the standard was better but still not great. We weren't even placed on the same floor. I complained to reception about the first room and we were offered a second room, which we accepted. 3. The slightly better standard room, had uneven flooring, especially outside of the bathroom. I went to turn the main light off in the bathroom and it fell off into my hand. 4. The second room we were offered didn't even have a working bathroom light. We had informed reception when we accepted the room, but nothing was done about it during our 4 night stay. We had also asked for a fan which we never received. We informed the reception manager of this on Thursday. She was extremely rude about the whole situation and never once offered us an apology. 5. The noise in the hotel was awful. You could hear people walking above you, next door and in the hall. You could also hear people talking in their rooms. It didn't make it easy to sleep and on our last morning we woke up with a broken kettle on balcony, presumably thrown from a window above. 6. The breakfast was decent, but it took until our last morning for a member of staff to inform us that we could order something from the kitchen should we wish. 7. The parking isn't great. For the size of the hotel, the amount of spaces offered is poor. They had a wedding party on the Thursday, who had reserved spaces in the car park leaving few spaces for paying guests. When complained about to reception, we were told to either double park and leave our keys with reception so the manager could move if need be or the park on the road and pay. I can fully understand the bride and groom having reserved parking but certainly not the whole wedding party. They were not paying guests so they should have parked on the road and payed. Overall, I am deeply disappointed with the hotel and I am utterly disgraced about how some things were handled. Will defiantly not be returning or recommending to anyone.

Spent 3 nights here as a family trip, ages ranging from young baby, children and grandparents. The negatives - bed was not very comfortable at all, mattress could do with replacing. Quite noisy, could hear conversations in room above and next to us so didn't have the best sleep. Pool was nice but much colder than a standard pool. The positives - staff were lovely, always extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, clean and had everything you needed. Shower was good with strong water pressure. Breakfast was great, plenty of options and could order items off the menu on top of the standard English breakfast buffet. The spa downstairs was really lovely and good value. The hotel has a great location, the beach is only a few minutes walk away and a walk in to town with all the shops and restaurants not much further. All in all we had a lovely time, the positives far outweigh the negatives and would happily come again (although new mattress would really help!)

...and working at the Queen's Hotel!" (Well, he was last Sunday anyway...) When we arrived, we discovered a leak in the bathroom from the room above. Raphael answered our call to Reception and came STRAIGHT up to the room, promised to show us another on the same floor before he made a change (to make sure we were happy with it) and HELPED us to move our luggage in WITHIN MINUTES!!!! (Yes, you read that right - MINUTES!!!!) Unbelievable. We had booked a twin and the new room was made up as a double. He sent someone to remake the beds. The main light in our son's room wasn't working, so we told him to call Reception. He said he had and there was already someone in the room changing the bulb! This is the kind of service we all dream of. (Raphael was clearly not on duty the day we waited 6 hours for a missing hand towel to be replaced, but whatever...) Yes, here may be issues that crop up with the hotel (and asking for a refurbished room will definitely enhance your stay) but the measure of a good organisation is their service, and the Queens has friendly and helpful staff who make you feel welcome and valued. Which is one reason we keep going back. (Others include the lovely clean leisure centre and the brilliant location). If only Raphael could be in charge of the Brexit negotiations...

Recently stayed at the hotel with my husband for a weekend break. We had a wonderful time, friendly staff, lovely room and excellent food. Everywhere was clean and well kept, I couldn't fault anything. I had an amazing experience in the spa as well, which made my stay very special. The hotel is in a great location and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel early as I had booked a hot stone massage for my wife, we were made very welcome and escorted to the spa straight away as we were slightly late due to traffic. The staff were great and took my wife straight in for the massage with no complaints what so ever. I then went back to reception and even though we were 2 hours ahead of check in time, I was checked in straight away and able to use the facilities until our room was ready. I left a couple of things in our room when we left and had to go back to retrieve them and again the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was clean, spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, what more could you ask for. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Firstly I think a lot of the reviews are very harsh. The food was very very good, I could not fault this, good quality and the staff were very efficient and friendly. For the price paid for the whole weekend it was great value. Room was fine (needs some updating) it won't wow you but was comfortable and clean. I had a problem which was reported and sorted out immediately by reception. My rating is based on the price paid for the weekend and the food which was particularly good.

I had an amazing stay here with my family over the weekend, all the staff were very friendly, my room was spacious and kept really clean and the food served at dinner was lovely. The menu catered for everyone, and we didn't have to wait long for the food to be served at all. The hotel was in an ideal location for us, as it was only a 10 minute walk to the beach and right near the town centre as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to come to Bournemouth!

Take no notice of the pictures... absolutely awful place a YMCA is cleaner... We arrived to be welcomed by the staff which are very polite... given our room key 404.. we walked in it smelt of cigarettes damp and musty.. very hot no cold water wallpaper hanging off the walls and ceiling..stains everywhere... we went to reception to complain to be told by the manager it was booked through booking.com and was economy room.. I informed her for the price we paid 110.00 per night that it overpriced and dirty.. she soon moved us to another room which was a bit better still dirty stains on walls and floors.. but didn't smell... Went down to the bar friendly staff again Went to the spa following day which I have to say was a delightful experience well looked after..only thing the pool is freezing. While in the bar we ordered food which was really good.. but the hotel was filling up with old people Later on went back to room to get ready to go out.. had music on not loud.. our new neighbours introduced themselves (12 on a golf trip) all went out saw them again later.. we got in at 1.30 they came in at 3 woke us up came into room was talking on the balcony.. kicked out at 4 by hotel staff. Following morning another manger came up walked into our room to be told we had a party from 1 till 6.. Don't think so..she was rude. Would highly recommend going else where stay away from this dirty rundown poo hole!!!! It'll be ok if over 60 and no life..

I booked this hotel for a major birthday based on the website and didn't look at the recent reviews which was incredibly stupid. I falsely believed that you would never be charged £200 for a room that was old, tatty and in our case not as clean as it could be. I was asked to pay as I entered the hotel, having battled to try and find a nearby parking space and, had I seen the room first I wouldn't have stayed at all. The Queens Hotel and spa is close to East Cliff beaches and well located for central Bournemouth, the staff are okay but there are three major issues with it. 1) It is severely dated. One guest stated that it hadn't been renovated since his last visit 15 years before. Lights hanging off walls, dirty carpets and misted condensation filled double glazing, just some of the fun. 2) It is incredibly hot and although each room is supplied with an electric fan, it was really uncomfortable. 3) A combination of noisy on premise parties, hen/stag groups and late night furniture mean actually sleeping in the hotel is a challenge. If you need to be close to town, see a room as somewhere just to crash and have a fondness for 1970's decor then this is an okay hotel. Otherwise stick to Premier Travel Inn as you will get better value for money. For luxury spend the extra and go to the Hilton. You have been warned.

Stayed last year and was very impressed. This year given an inferior room. Had to change rooms after first night as mattress was appalling and smells from kitchen below (not helped by dreadful neighbours below) however you can't blame the hotel for that. We were given a pleasant room and much more comfortable night. The staff as ever were charming and courteous, the food of a high standard.
