The Westin Westminster

During our stay, the Westin seemed to be undergoing renovations. The lobby was in disarray with furniture partially assembled, boxes and tarps in various configuration. Carpet was being worked on and various areas bring painted. The pool was closed (disappointing). Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the mountains. However, upon arrival we found that both our phone and the remote were dead, which makes ordering room service and watching TV challenging. The engineer switched out the phone and remote, but neither the "new" phone nor the "new" remote whether either (very odd). The TV took forever to switch channels and sometimes got no signal at all. Internet fees are per day and are in the $10-15 range for 5 devices ( expensive). The fitness center was nice, however the Lifetime Fitness treadmills and ellipticals did not have working TVs, which made for boring cardio. The staff was nice, but I got the impression they didn't seem to recognize that people stay in hotels like the Westin because they want a relaxing, high end experience, not to be trouble shooting technical problems as the staff shrugs. The Westin has the potential to deliver this experience if management can get all these issues better in hand.

I love this hotel. The location is great, the views stunning, and the rooms and bed are comfortable and quiet. The on-site restaurant is nice and the food tasty. The disappointing part was letting my children down when I found out in the morning that the pool and spa were demolished and being renovated. I was not informed of this when checking in, and was charged the same price as if this amenity was available to me. There was a sign outside the pool area that said “check with front desk about swimming alternatives” but tell that to a 7 year old that’s been looking forward to swimming and see how well that goes over. The hotel should have been transparent upon checkin and I would have arranged swimming offsite to accommodate for this renovation.

When I arrived the floor was wet from a spilled mop pail and there were no alternative rooms available. Also, the hotel was being remodeled and so there was construction noise all during the daytime. It was not a relaxing get-away as was planned.

We were very disappointed with the staff at the Westin...all of them were rude and seemed almost irritated to assist us. We paid for valet services throughout our stay and each time we called ahead the car was never ready, in fact one time we called about 20 mins ahead when we arrived the female employee was on a personal phone call and was clearly irritated we interrupted her conversation, she grabbed the keys, walked outside for 10 minutes, came back in and handed us the keys, she never even pulled our car upfront. This was not worth the $!

Amazing hotel! Just missing continental breakfast. Has Starbucks on ground floor which was awesome.

Great hotel with lots to do in walking distance. Kind staff and very clean on top of it. Great place to stay.

My wife does not seem please with the pillow and they give us double beds instead of King size that I was booked for. But I did not check and discuss with them the moment I found out they did that to us, since we were to tired and don’t want to go through the hassle. The hotel is nice but if you plan to park after midnight, it is impossible to find one but the Vallet service is on $15 dollar over night but I only paid $5 and tips for three night I stay there. So, double check your room assignment and pay $5 vallet , and you will be fine. I personally like and it is easy to find. Located near highway too.

Every services are great. I want to visit again soon

I think because the hotel was booked as part of a package we did not initially receive the best possible room. We spoke to the manager on duty and he was kind enough to switch rooms - albeit not much better view - just a higher floor. Being a Hilton Honors Member with the highest status - we are used to a higher bar of service. However, the stay was quite comfortable and a beautiful very busy hotel with lovely walking paths and pretty lobby.

Everything about this hotel was excellent! From the front desk associates, to the excellent appointments to our room, everything was better than expected.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Wonder view, clean hotel, lovely walking areas around the hotel.

Very nice hotel with a great view. Didn't try the restaurant in the hotel, but restaurants within walking distance (very pleasant walk along the pond which includes a walking bridge over a main road so no traffic to worry about). Would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Hotel overall was fine. Only issue I had was a group was having a get together/party under the covered porch right next to my room window. They had a loud boom box and looked to be multipl3 30 packs through out the yard outside my window. More then just a usual fun get together. A little rowdy to say the least. Staff broke it up around two in the morning. Wish they would of been a little more proactive about it. I think they said they have to have 3 complaints from people to break it up. I guess the third different individual complained around 2AM and it was finally taken care of.

We liked the location and the facilities; the counter help and staff were excellent. My husband thought their gym was one of the best, and we enjoyed the food at the Kachina; it was handy to have a good restaurant there. The landscaping and outdoor features were very well done....the water feature was lovely and had a nice walkway all the way around. There will apparently be other stores along that frontage area soon, as the structures were under construction, and there is a walking bridge which goes from that area over the interstate to stores, theaters and restaurants. The only thing we didn't particularly care for was the parking: the valet parking lot was very close but the regular parking lots were further away, and one had to cross the street to get to it. This was usually not a problem, as it was not a through-way street, but if you had much to carry, it could be problematic. Overall, the hotel was quiet, clean, and well run with amenities like a gift shop, pool, and computer areas in the lounge; we would definitely recommend it.

Great location next to many restaraunts and easy access to I-36. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the bed was a little soft.

Easy check in, beautiful mountain view, clean room. nice restaurant with outdoor patio.

Great location! Parking was difficult however. Beds were comfy.

Very slow checkin, manager came out and offered water, should have helped check people in.

I Never fill surveys out But after this stay I had no choice. My stay was Spectacular. Every single staff member was outwardly friendly, noticeably informed and educated about the property, management etc. Each offered greetings and a smile. Mark at the front desk handled a couple of my calls and was efficient, professional and welcoming. My the hotel gets a 5, the capable and friendly staff made it a 10. the food in the restaurant was also fabulous, sensible prices, the waitress, truly a pleasure to have her serve our meal throughout the evening.
