Furniture old and saturated with smell of cigarette smoke. Front desk staff very nice.

When we arrived around 6pm, we walk in the front office and no one is around. There’s a sign that says to dial the phone on the counter for service, so that’s fine we assume they must be helping someone. I call 4 times and the line keeps ringing. We then try to call the main hotel line several times, but it is busy. After about 30 minutes go by, we walk back outside to see if anyone is around or may know where the staff is. A man comes out of a room at the end and asked if we needed help, he knocked on one of the doors and 2 staff members came out, they appear to be living on property and using the hotels main phone line for personal use. They’re dressed very unprofessionally and did not wear masks, any face coverings, didn’t wash their hands or use anything after being on what seems like a break. Now when we finally got the keys to our room, it was quite dingy. It’s apparent it has been renovated, but not super well and whoever cleans it does a very poor job. I kept socks and usually shoes on most of the time and the bathroom had mold growing in it. There’s a nice back patio on each room but the door doesn’t close properly, allowing all the cold air in. I didn’t feel very safe or clean staying here and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting.

The Inn is in a quiet location right in the heart of Cumberland Gap, TN. The view from the balconies (which face backward) aren't anything to write home about, but the view from the front of the Inn is gorgeous! The staff was friendly, the room spacious and clean, and the bed comfortable. I stayed an extra day since it worked perfectly for me, and I'll definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

The owner was insanely nice. He made sure we had everything we needed every day that we were there! He also knew the area very well.

We love this hotel. However this stay was marred by horrible TV reception and a commode lid that was too small for the bowl which made it impossible for me to use it.

Not sure how this hotel had over an 8 rating with Trip Advisor. I think it was made up and still posted in the lobby. The hotel is old, not very clean, and things don't work. Faucets in shower moved in and out of the wall when you turned the handles to name one.

Nice staff and pretty clean, was alittle disappojnted that the jets in our tub did not work

Cute and quiet, staff was friendly. Plenty of parking

I liked the antique furnishings. I liked the overall design and architecture of building. I felt like I was transported to the late 1800’s. Room did have an old musty cigarette-ish smell. If I were to travel through this area again, I would probably stay there.

Remote, dining close, could use a little more attention to maintenance. Nice place though.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Quaint but comfortable room. Close to Cumberland Gap National Historic Park.

We apologize for your unpleasant experience on that very hectic day. We had N.C Basket Ball team who took 22 of our rooms for a week, we also had construction crew and next crew was due to come next day. Manager and Assistant Manager had to help housekeepers doing rooms because we were short staff. Managers carry phones with them, if the phone did not work it may be that they were upstairs in a corner room helping the staff or at the laundry room. However we do have alternate phone at the Front Desk entry door. There are two cell phone numbers of each Managers, there is cell phone number of the owner. No employees are allowed to use business line at any time. In addition we have electronic RING bell at the door that is connect to Managers' cell phone. The person who probably took care of you might have been a maintenance person who happens to live at the property and available 24 hours. Hotel is presently under renovation. We are replacing all the carpets and installing hardwood flooring in all our rooms. All the bathrooms tiles will be replaced. We apologize for your concern and inconvenience. We appreciate you. Please contact me any time if you have any other concern at 865 850 3226.

Hello Anonymous guest, we hear you. TV problem is not common because some guests use DVD player . Once they are done , they either forget to put the cable back the way it is supposed to be or don't tighten the cable that makes the tv fuzzy. The commode lid being small might have been a temporary fix. But all could have been addressed within less then 10 minuets had you dialed zero for operator. After 11pm when the office is close, we have posted contact names and numbers of Manager and owners. We are happy to hear that you like Cumberland Gap Inn. We appreciate you. Please allow us to serve you again. Any time you arrive at the hotel, please also demand for the issues if you have in the rooms or outside the room. We are here to serve you. We welcome your comments , however, it would have been better if we had heard from you directly. We appreciate you. You are most welcome back .Thank you for choosing us.
