My mistake for not realizing this was an EXTREMELY PET FRIENDLY hotel!!! Either there was a dog show somewhere in the city or it was being held right at the hotel. There were dogs everywhere, smelling you while you're checking in, drooling while you're trying to eat, and the outside of the hotel was littered in doggy do-do. I guess I expected better of the pet owners. BUT it was a wake up call to check if a hotel is pet friendly. Please, I like dogs, just not strange dogs smelling me and wanting my food. The room was fine. Quiet and clean, but typical of how Marriott has let the Residence Inns go downhill.
This is our go to hotel whenever we visit Chattanooga. This is our 4th visit in the past 1 1/2 years. While we usually enjoy our stay this had some snafus. We checked in easily enough. When we got to the room, a horrible odor was overpowering and sickening. It seemed the previous resident cooked a lot of curry while staying there and the smell permeated everything. The exhaust fan filter and underneath the filter had not been cleaned. I requested a different room and was immediately accommodated. Both rooms did not have the little bottle of dish soap. Instead of running the dishwasher for just a couple of cups or glasses, I prefer to do a quick wash in the sink. I asked a housekeeper in the hallway if they supplied dish soap anymore and got a curt "no". There was a thick layer of dust on the refrigerator in the second room. The breakfast was slim pickings. At 7am the area was already messy, very little available. The oatmeal was very watery and was not cooked with salted water, so was yucky. I had to extend our stay by 2 days, then changed my mind and made it just one day due to traffic looking ok to return to Florida after hurricane Irma. (Luckily when we first evacuated, friends let us stay with them, because there were no rooms in the city to be found). The front desk was patient and friendly getting this done. So I am wondering if these missteps were due to the fact that they were completely booked for days due to the hurricane evacuation in Florida and the Ironman challenge being in the city at the same time. I will still stay at this hotel the next time we visit Chattanooga.
Was lucky that Priceline picked this hotel for me and for an extremely reasonable rate. Nice, large layout (suite), very clean and comfortable. Free breakfast buffet was offered (6:30-9:30) however, I had to leave earlier. Full kitchen with full size coffee maker & ice maker was nice to have. Bed was very comfortable.
We stayed there for two nights and the first impression was great! Upon checking in the staff was so nice and we travel a lot so we were discussing how positive things went. Then the room was nothing like pictured on their website which we discounted as a slight oversight. Then the next morning we went down for breakfast and it was complete chaos. They were out of everything, the only man working had a horrible attitude and was rude, the lady working the front desk was conducting an interview among all the chaos. She literally would go back and forth to the lobby interviewing someone (on a Sunday at 11 while everyone was checking out) while people eating were complaining because there was no forks, spoons, bowls, cream cheese, milk, cream or sugar for coffee, all the food was out and one man with the worst attitude ever was responding to multiple questions while the manager was conducting an interview. It was bad to say the least!
Front desk service assume Rooms very accommodating Full size refrigerator Free breakfast had about anything you wanted and very fresh Easy access dogs were comfortable Only drawback Is we were there two nights & 1 of 2 elevators out both days
I ended up here unexpectedly after a cancelled flight left me in Chattanooga for two extra days. I made the reservation last minute on the Marriott App and headed right over. They already had a room ready for me with the keys made when I got there 15 minutes later. I was still quite stressed out due to a situation at the airport with my flight and the airline staff, and the women behind the front desk was so kind and sympathetic to my story. The manager actually came out and apologized to me on behalf of American Airlines (even though she had NOTHING to do with them), something the airline still hasn't done. She then apologized again on behalf of the people of Chattanooga and said that is not how people in their city treat visitors. It was so wonderful and refreshing to meet such nice people! I went up to the room, which was nice and clean. Everything was in order as you would expect - no complaints at all. I ultimately ended up changing my travel plans to drive home rather than wait for a flight and checked out at about noon on the next day, a full day early, and they were so accommodating. No issue with the early check out, and an offer to make sure I had everything I needed to get on my way safely. Would highly recommend this hotel as they have wonderful employees, clean rooms at a good price, and a lot of dining and shopping options very nearby.
Very nice hotel, great friendly staff! Enjoyed the reception in the evening as well as the breakfast. We stayed in the two bedroom suite which was very spacious and nice. The staff here is especially friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Not too far from Hamilton Place mall so lots of dining options within a mile of the hotel.
It's a little out of the way from I-75 compared to some of the other hotels that are right next door. However, the rooms are very clean and quiet, and they're dog friendly, which is a huge plus. I was a little irked that my room rate (not including the pet deposit) was $10 higher than what my reservation stated, hence the "Very Good" rating instead of the "Excellent" rating.
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times now. We have always travelled in April. Didn't make it this year. This is our preferred hotel. We find the staff to be very welcoming and efficient. We always get a two room suite and we travel with a dog. Although the family room furniture is dated, everything is more than satisfactory. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. We stayed at a different hotel one year and decided never to repeat that mistake again. We have already booked and are looking forward to returning in October.
My husband and I consulted with Expedia to reserve a hotel stay for our family vacation from Florida to Tennessee for July 8, 9, 10 and 11th, 2017. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite as specified in the confirmation email it stated: room 1: (1) king & room 2: (2) queen. Upon checking in front desk staff stated there were no rooms with two queens only one king in each bedroom. Although disappointed, we felt this was not too much of an issue as we were traveling with an 8 year old and a 2 year old we would simply make modifications to their sleeping arrangements. Front desk staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Upon entering our hotel room it was noticeably dingy, looking at the furniture it was torn and warped, opening the sleeper sofa it was dirty and looked very used and abused to the point my husband and I weren't completely confident in the structural integrity of this item. It was decided no one should sleep on the sleeper bed, instead the oddly shaped uncomfortable couch. As I began placing our hygiene items in the bathrooms, I noticed a full Ecolab antibacterial all purpose cleaner spray bottle inside the bathroom tub in the bathroom designated to our children. I then placed the bottle in a high space out of the reach of our children but in a spot that would be obvious to housekeeping so they would remove it upon their rounds the following day. Our kitchen was quaint, however, lacked kitchen soap. There was less than 1 centimeter remaining in the already miniature 3 ounce bottle provided. We did not receive housekeeping services for July 9th or July 10th, we had returned to our rooms at approximately 3-4 pm both days. We had paid $259.01 for July 8, $229.01 for July 9, $269.01 for July 10 and $279.01 for July 11 plus $178.71 in taxes totaling in $1214.75. An exorbitant amount of money for roadside motel quality. I have never been so upset and disappointed as I had to persuade my husband that this was allegedly an amazing hotel as I obsessively reviewed all positive and negative reviews for the hotel we were going to be staying in. This was a first and last for Residence Inn or Marriott owned hotels for us. They had contacted me after I emailed them and stated verbatim "I will be sure to communicate your comments to our staff and use them as a training opportunity." A training opportunity!
