Good location. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Our room was a bit rundown. The bathroom door ran off track every single time it was closed, one bathroom light was constantly flickering, and the shower head didn't provide a good spray. It also would be nice to have a small refrigerator bc we always have left overs when eating out a lot (and I bet others do too). Overall the hotel is still nice bc of the overall cleanliness and location but having been visiting the Mills House since 2010, it needs some rejuvenation in the rooms and hallways.

This is a good property and good location. My frustration is I paid for the room through Orbitz. However, my debit card was charged again another room night and a third time by the hotel for my single night's stay. The first "hold" on my debit card went away in 5 business days. After 22 days and three emails they made the appropriate correction to the second "hold". So My $260 room actually had essentially another $600 held from my card which took 5 and 22 days and multiple emails respectively to clear up. Good thing my bank balance could withstand this. PS The accounting department was relatively non-communicative, but pleasant when they did respond. So I'm not saying avoid the property. I am saying they need to seriously revisit their "hold" fee system...

Very centrally located

Got to our room looked like someone had slept in the bed. Then moved down and we were by the pool that was great until we found out that night a wedding rehersal was taking place by the pool? No bar or restaurant was available in the hotel. Then we tried to sit outside but 2 guest were smoking cigar we moved again. The next day the wedding happened no restaurant and a bar was set up in front but they didn't have the wine we drink and he wouldn't go get it so we left. The 3rd room was on street side and we heard every car,bus motorcycle truck all night, there also was no mini fridge no little gift shop? Not worth the 600 a night would not recommend

Public spaces like the lobby, exterior, and the pool deck were beautiful and impressive. Our individual room, though, was worn, plain, and unimpressive. It could have been a room in an older budget hotel.

We liked our spacious corner room and location For walking and seeing Charleston. Did not like maid service knocking on door And waking us up even though we had the do not disturb sign on door. I complained at front desk and I thought they heard me but the very next morning the exact same thing happened. With do not disturb sign on the door The maid service just ignored do not disturb And actually walked in.

Beautiful hotel in great location! Close to the market and the battery. We stayed three nights and we all loved the location. Spent a day shopping on King Street, morning walks to coffee and the Battery. Afternoon at the Market. We were able to walk every where we went except for our evening at Shem Creek. Spent a relaxing afternoon at the pool as well. I will definitely stay here the next time in Charleston.

The property is in a prime location from sights and restaurants and just a beautiful historic building. Unfortunately, the service is lacking, particularly since this is supposed to be four stars. I had to escalate because for two days in a row they would simply not service/ clean the room. Additionally, there were a few minor things, like makeup on a new towel and a dirty, broken hairdryer. The Manager addressed and on my check-out day they would stop and knock every 30 min although I gave them the exact time I’d be leaving the room.

The only negative thing was there was no mini fridge in our room and the toilet paper for a four star hotel was awful. Other than that it was a great stay

Well kept property, room with patio on pool level was worth the extra money. Bar & restaurant a plus, walking distance to all of historic district.

Great spot, great location!

Loved our room on the second floor. We were right next to the pool. I did not like no refrigerator in the room. Had to constantly leave the room to go get ice. The Meeting House Hotel offered mid day snacks and free sodas and water. This hotel did not. The location was great!

All rooms need a mini fridge.

It was located in a convenient area of the Historic District. The hotel itself was lovely and the room was just as described. The staff was very pleasant and really made you feel like they were happy you chose their hotel. We will stay there again on our next visit.

Great location downtown with a lot of restaurants and shopping that is walkable. Loved the rooftop views. Our room had a balcony right on the rooftop and near the pool. Great food, had brunch and dinner. The only bad review that we couldn’t get into our room for two hours past the expected check in. But did get two breakfast vouchers.
