Got a bargi off booking.com very spur if the moment and was pleasantly surprised. Parking is limited but we managed to gwt the last space, if you're not so lucky there is plenty of on street parking available. Couldn't fault the room the shower was amazing and the bed extremely comfy. Staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome from check in to check out. Would happily recommend.
Terrible service, paper thin walls. Could hear everyone walking past room and upstairs. Noisy shisha bar next door - terrible. 4 parking spaces for whole hotel. Roads have restricted parking during working hours on week days. Nightmare. Desk clerk helpful but powerless to act. Not a hotel i will stay in again. Poor customer service and ability to respond to complaints. Checked out after 2 hours. Defibately NOT a 4 star hotel
We had a really pleasant overnight stay at this hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who checked us in at 3pm this Saturday (12th August) but if management read this, please check who he is and give him a pat on the back. He was friendly and professional and happy to go out of the way to help us when we explained we were already a little late arriving to meet with friends. Having previously managed the front desk of a hotel, he did an absolutely perfect check in. Our room was on the top floor, so might have been difficult for older or less fit people, but was no problem for us. It may be worth asking for a lower down room if you do struggle with stairs however. The room was very clean and comfortable- my only note for improvement is that in a windowless bathroom, an extractor fan would be welcome, but this is meant constructively. My only other point, for information only, is that because the bar is a shisha bar, it is very niche and might not be ideal for all guests. I was a little queasy after the journey and didn't find it very comfortable. That being said, this information is available on their website, so I take responsibility for not checking. Plus there are several other bars in the area and you only have to walk across the road to the nearest, so it was no problem. The barman on duty on Saturday afternoon was also very accommodating and friendly. It's certainly a case that you get what you pay for. If you want 5* luxury, this probably isn't the hotel for you, but it is clean, comfortable and central, therefore ideal for staying in a big city where you don't spend much time in your room anyway. The staff are most definitely the best part and try their best to offer a fantastic experience.
Have travelled alot and this is definately one of the top hotel experiences we have had! Beautiful building, warm welcome, attentive and professional staff..topped off by being located in the heart of Clifton close to all the hotspots (centre, Suspension Bridge, Bristol Zoo, Bristol University, Clifton Village and the list goes on). Had a fantastic stay and will definately return when next looking for somehwere to stay in Bristol. The staff went the extra mile to make us feel special,, a definate yes to anyone looking to stay in Bristol.:Each guest is made to feel special-)Good value for money nice continental breakfast available
Located very near town centre (5 mins walk to the Fountains). Very picturesque and clean area. Parking leaves a little to wish for but not surprising given the location. Staff was very helpful and gave us great suggestions to nearby restaurants. Will definitely stay here again :)
I stayed here with my family over a long weekend and really enjoyed the stay. The location is excellent! We received great service and a particular shout out to Parveen who made our stay really special. Just one thing, the hotel doesn't have lots of free parking, we caught the local train which is a 10 min walk, so didn't trouble us.
It's rare that I ever have to write a review like I'm writing now. I am outright accusing this hotel with misrepresentation and fraud! We were traveling by car around England so we searched specifically for a few things. Free Parking for example. The hotel has only 5 parking spaces (which are free), but can be filled up with anyone who wishes to park there. Close by there are two restaurants/bars that take up the parking. If you aren't lucky enough to get one of those parking spots who knows where or how far away you will have to park. We also wanted a larger bed. When we saw "King" bed we chose this hotel over others. THEY DO NOT HAVE KING SIZE BEDS! After we finally checked in and made it to our room we noticed the size of the bed. It was a full size bed, maybe a queen, but was small even for a Queen. I posted a photo of me laying on it to show you that it's most certainly NOT a king size bed! Before unpacking I went back to the front desk to say they put us in the wrong room, but they assured me that it was a King size bed. After the parking and the bed issue I requested to cancel the reservation. They said that I booked a non-cancelable room and where I could leave, they would NOT be refunding any of my money. So we sucked it up and stayed unwillingly. Sadly that wasn't the end of the issues. The bed was so thin I could grab it in one hand and squeeze it together. A prison mattress would have been more comfortable. The pillows were also very thin and had to be the cheapest option available. I ended up using the decorative pillow as it was more comfortable. The room was without air conditioning, which isn't uncommon for the area, but when leaving the window open we would get smoke from the restaurant/bar area that would drift into the room along with being able to hear them late into the night. It was miserable! The TV in the room was a joke. It was about the same size as my note pad. I posted a photo of this as well. It's really sad because the area and hotel isn't in bad shape. With a little honesty and new beds/pillows it wouldn't be a bad place. Something to note too if you're not traveling with a credit card from Europe (we are from the US) that they do not accept them as they run a £100 deposit and they can't do it without the pin number the European cards require. So we had to leave a cash deposit that we didn't get back until after someone physically checked our room in the morning. It was an unwelcome delay in checking out. For the month plus we were in Europe this is the only hotel that was unable to accept our credit card. Please read the other reviews of this hotel. I wish I would have before booking this hotel. So many reviews mention the same issues we had, so it's not a new problem or issue. The hotel simply refuses to fix their misleading advertising tactics.
The hotel was nice and clean for us. Staff were friendly and helpful! Nice and close to the centre if Bristol and near some really nice places to eat. Although the noise from other rooms and outside were rediculous, going on until the early hours of the morning. The major issue for me was the parking, or lack of. As it advertises available parking but as it is a residential area then there are only 5 spaces outside that are free but the staff also have use of them which leaved maybe 1 or 2 for guests. Other than that it is on street parking at £1 per hour and you'll be lucky to get a space. That resulted in a 10-15 walk to the hotel from where I was parked which also charged. Can't say I'd go back as parking is a necessity for me and my partner.
I'm a regular visitor to Bristol, so decided to try out the hotel. Positives: convenient location for Clifton, friendly staff Negatives: advertises that parking is available but they only have a very limited number of spaces (that means parking on the street, if you can find a space and are prepared to pay), room was relatively small (but I did go for a single to keep the costs down), hotel is opposite a very busy and noisy bar, sound proofing is rubbish. Didn't stay for breakfast, plenty of places to try nearby. Biggest issue for this hotel is temperature control. It was a warm day, and my room was boiling hot - even with the window wide open. At the end of the day, it was a reasonably priced hotel for a 1-night stay.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, the rooms are tiny you can barely walk round the bed! Bathroom even worse practically banging your head off the wall when you sit on the toilet, and just about able to squeeze into the tiny shower. I get there is nothing the hotel Can do about room sizes but the worst part about the stay were the pillows!! Flat as pancakes and we got one pillow each! May as well not had a pillow for all the difference they made, the bed was very uncomfortable and didn't sleep well on the 2 nights I was here. To the point now I have returned home I am going to get a few hours sleep this afternoon which you shouldn't have to do after staying in a hotel! The stairs are extremely steep! Had to take heels off to avoid an accident so if you have even slight mobility issues do not book here. Also the hotel only has room for like 5/6 cars and street parking is limited and at a few between 9am and 5pm. Nice bar and ok location were the only positives
