We had a lovely time here. We stayed for 1 night to have break from Birmingham to london. Hotel is nice. Rooms are comfortable. Love their bed so nice. Breakfast is good. A good start with guacamole and tomato spread , just stole my heart. Tons of thanks to team kelvin and Ro from Mercure Cardiff team great job you both.

First stay here. Got an excellent advance rate of around £80 per double inc breakfast. Arrived and parked in their carpark for 24 hours, rate £10. Ok for city hotel. Check in was good. Rooms spacious and decently equipped. Bathrooms fine, may need updating over next couple of years. Bar and Eating area was modern and clean. Breakfast was superb. Very good ingredients - sausages, bacon, mushrooms, potato fritters were also very tasty. Excellent stay.

I booked the hotel through an app but when I arrived I had got the date wrong (a combination of an app refreshing the wrong month and me not double checking). I feared the worst as it wasn’t their issue, but the hotel staff were more than helpful and spoke to the 3rd party and rearranged the date and honoured the booking. This could easily have gone the other way but the manageress was extremely accommodating and sorted it out. Will 100% use again. Thank you 😊

Great welcome at this hotel. Very comfortable and homely. Very near the Temple Meads rail station and after that an easy walk to the main city sights. I had stayed here previously and felt I wanted to return. I was very well looked after. All of the staff I had dealings with were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast selection and the salmon noodles in the bar/restaurant at night: very tasty. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Typical clean and tidy Novotel, friendly and efficient staff, tidy functional and spacious room if a bit sterile. Had a ribeye steak in the restaurant which was nicely cooked but a bit tough! Eggs ran out at breakfast and took an age to get restocked. This hotel is in a really good location and good value - just needs to work on the details. I'd have no problem booking here again.

Sold as a 4* - but the rooms certainly weren't a 4* standard. Very poor insulation between rooms to the point of hearing your neighbours conversation. Fire alarm went off due to 'steam in the kitchen' yet no apology received at check out.

Room was lovely, although always cold in the evening! Gym is small but adequate Reception staff helpful Food was very disappointing, I was staying for several days but only got offered 2 vegan options (both of which I didn’t want - a salad or a spicy curry) I complained several times and on the third day I was made something nice. Hopefully next time I’m back I can leave a better review. No food at breakfast was labelled for allergies eg mushrooms were cooked in butter.

Whilst this hotel looks promising at first glance, it only takes 10 minutes to be disappointed. The check-in is slow and painful (every time I visit there is a problem with the computer). The staff at reception are less than helpful (one even displined me for putting my key card next to my mobile phone and wiping by accident). The food at the bar is what you would expect of a cheap pub and not very appetising, especially when considering the price. Again, it takes forever to get served. The rooms are clean but basic and no better can some of the cheaper alternatives in Bristol. Overall, the interior of the hotel is dated and drab. Save your money and go for the neighbouring budget hotels if your expectations are not high.

This hotel is very convenient for Bristol Temple Meads and close to many amenities, the welcome from desk was very appropriate for a hotel of its kind very formal but welcoming. Enjoyed a nice lunch in the bar area and was served by a very engaging waitress. The room was very clean and spacious, but found it strange that the mini fridge with a glass fronted door did not cater for water, which would have been nice. Asked for an hour extension to check out and was told that we should have asked on the previous day, which I felt was a little shortsighted as I’m a visitor to the city with intentions of visiting again next week-end.

We decided to use to book a room in Bristol. We opted for a different way to book a hotel and the result was Novotel. The location was easy to find. It’s about 8-10 minutes walk to the centre of Bristol (Cabot’s Circus etc) from the hotel on foot. There is plenty of available car parking spaces. You can take your car back out but you must get your ticket validated each time so you will only pay £10 per night (24hours) during your stay. Check in was an easy process. We opted out of the breakfast (£10.00 if you pay before the time otherwise the price increases - kids eat free). The staff were very friendly at all times. The room (409) was spacious considering the price paid, we were situated on the top floor alongside the Executive rooms, Suites and Gym (In Balance). All were easy to get to via the hotel lift. The main bed was extremely comfortable but the additional sofa bed was not as comfortable. We made use of the mini fridge, mini safe, tea making facilities and sound system. The bathroom had a bath with mixer tap shower, toiletries and towels. It’s a shame the quality of the towels were lacking. There is also an ice dispenser located near the lifts. We missed out on using as we only noticed it on departure. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this hotel.
