Booked to stay on Friday night to go out with friends and shopping the next day. Really good hotel, spacious room & comfy bed. Shame about the light in the fridge which kept coming on all night and shone into your eyes. - Covered up the fridge with a jacket in the end. Perfectly positioned for everything, lovely helpful staff, clean and modern. Greta breakfast.
Another lovely stay, even in the middle of August it was a calm and friendly place to stay. The toiletries seem to be diminishing though! One small shampoo and a soap between 4 of us. There used to be shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion for all which meant I never needed to pack any, which is great when flying the next day. I'm sure it's a cost cutting exercise and now I know I will take our own. Otherwise the room was brilliant value, the staff lovely, the food brilliant. I highly recommend the Accor club card, you get some very good online discounts with it, like a 3 course meal in the restaurant for £20. We will be back.
Stayed overnight with husband and elderly mum. Requested a room next door and we got two large rooms. Very comfy beds, modern TV etc. Bit disappointed we only had one tea bag in the room, didn't realise until 7am! It was noisy overnight with bedroom doors slamming and we overlooked the back of the hotel so early morning brought reversing delivery lorries... The staff were lovely but only one guy at the bar and taking orders for food in the evening, but he was really nice and the food was good. We had fish and chips, burger and chips and steak and chips and all had desserts which were good too. Unfortunately there are a number of road works around Bristol including right outside the hotel which caused a delay everytime we came and went but it's not their fault so what ya gonna do! Prices were good £198 for two superior rooms with breakfast which was also good. However a tad disappointed there was no scrambled egg...I'd stay again...
Checked in today - check in was a pleasant enough experience. Found room, dumped luggage and went to bar. Ordered a pint of Cider, went to pay for it on Credit Card to be told there was a £5 minimum - poor show no other hotel I have visited asks this. So I asked for a bar tab to pay at the end of the evening. The bar person asked to swipe my card - usual in any bar and gave me a tab number the same as my room number. A few beers later, I went back down for a bite to eat. Before ordering I asked if I could pay my bar tab. I was then told it had been charged to my room! My company are paying for my room - not my personal expenditure. Eventually I got my bar bill, but I got the very distinct impression I had Pee'd off the bar staff. I ordered my food (with a drink) separately because the company card would cover this. Ordering another drink, and asking for it to be on my food bill just seemed to annoy the staff further. The staff dropped a basket of break on my table, and I had to wait several minutes before I could grab a member of staff to ask for some Olive Oil and Balsamic vinegar to dip my (Dry) bread in. When this simple request did arrive, the balsamic vinegar was like treacle - not what a vinegar should be :-) The Pizza I had selected for my Main Course was equally disappointing. There was soooooo much cheese on it, the middle of the base was very doughy. Worse still there was no "mid-meal" check where I could have raised my concerns. When I asked for the bill, again no simple "Was everything alright for you sir?" Very poor - and I have another night of this to go yet :-( I just hope that my bed is a little more welcoming and comfortable! I will update tomorrow :-)
No gripes at all about the room. We stayed in the Champagne suite. Very clean and tidy and a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was a buffet style with a choice English or continental style food. Very tasty and worth the extra money. My only gripe about this hotel which stops me giving it a 5 star is the fact you have to pay for parking. At a charge at £10 for a nights stay was a bit shocking as I think we paid enough for the room. Would I stay here again? Yes. But if I could find a hotel for the same price with free parking then I would choose another hotel next time I was down here.
We stayed here for 2 nights on 5th/6th Aug in room 416, I paid to upgrade to an executive room which was a nice room, a little dated in areas but satisfactory. The bedding was comfortable and it was a nice touch having a nespresso machine in the room and loved the complimentary extras that were provided. Unfortunately this is where the positivity regarding the room ends, the area where the nexpresso machine and cups are was so dusty, this included the cups, we had to wash the cups before using them as you could write your name in the dust. There was also what looked like make up/dirty marks on the mirror above the desk area. The next day we left the room around 10am and returned around 6pm, we thought the room would have been made up but all the housekeeping staff had done was replace the towels and a couple of the toiletries, the things they missed were making the bed, replacing the coffee, water, biscuits, sweetener and hot choc and overall cleaning of the sink area, the area where the coffee lives was still very dusty and hadn't been touched. Also, the evening before we used the wine glasses that were in the room, these looked like they had been given a quick rinse and wiped with a cloth as they were very dirty with my lip balm still around the lip of the glass. I think the level of service the housekeeping staff are providing is unacceptable, I wouldn't expect this in a basic room never mind an executive room. On a positive note, the breakfast was very good, great variety and hot.
Wanted to book two family rooms close together, simple question but kept being put on hold, after 55 mins was told the 2 rooms that were available were now gone by the time they could answer my question!!!! Hour wasted on the phone and our plans to stay over during balloon festival ruined!!! I asked to make a complaint and for an email confirmation to arrive, it never did! Hence I decided to leave this review, very upset they couldn't have held the room whilst trying t find out if we would be located together was possible, massive disappointment all round!!! Very bad customer service.
Convenient, efficient & bonus of on site, secure & reasonably priced parking. Staff efficient and helpful. Breakfast good too. Room was very specious & to a high level of specification. Shower hot. No complaints at all. Clean & good value.
A budget hotel. Room was bland but bed and pillows comfortable. Clean. Bar rather soulless and not a place to spend an evening. Staff inattentive at breakfast which could be a very respectable offering but they don't refill any foods after 10.00 so for half an hour the bread runs out, the butter is all gone and the choices diminish. By the way, if you book through Booking.com they will offer you breakfast at 40 per cent more than the hotel charges on check-in. 13.95, instead of 10 pounds. It's well worth a tenner, too, despite some shortcomings
Our two connecting rooms were large and comfortable. 2 queen beds in each room so my 3 daughters had good night sleeps! Breakfast was well balanced with healthy and fry up options. Restuarant menu was good and we enjoyed the evening meal served. 10 mins to city center and a pleasant walk. Just five minutes to Temple Meads rail station so it was easy to get to London. Will stay at this hotel again. For the price, the value is very good.
