I can not recommend this hotel and it’s Girls night out package enough. The staff were brilliant throughout and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious and much better than I expected. Our room and the goodie bags were exceptional. I will definitely be booking again! Also the spa and it’s treatments were great. I can recommend the express back neck and shoulder massage.
I've been going to this hotel every month for a few years now. Solely because of the location - minutes away from the motorway - and we've had a meeting room booked every month. It's almost excellent, and sometimes is, but while there are some excellent staff, most are jaw-droppingly awful. The list of my complaints is too huge, but some random highlights are over/undercooked food (this must have happened 5-10 times) , dirty tables and plates, being incorrectly assured that I was given goats cheese (when I told them about my lactose intolerance), a barman who licks the straws before stirring the next drink with the same straw (he still worked there months later), someone else's dirty wet towels left on the floor in my room, hair in my sheets when I just checked in, cold food sent to the room (twice), dirty toilet seat, staff who promise to deliver items to the room "immediately" but nothing comes within 45 minutes and calling back twice, taking more than half an hour to check out, billing mistakes, rude staff, being put opposite the lift when requesting a quiet room, having to phone 3+ times to get the confirmation email that never arrives... I wish this was a joke but it isn't. It's shockingly bad - I travel a lot all over the world, and have to rate this as one of the worst. How they keep their 4 stars is baffling. Enough is enough - I won't stay there again. I recommend you don't either. PS: There is some humour in the Fawlty Towers aspect, but it certainly wears off.
Great new beds, linen and pillows. Rooms have been painted and decor is lighter and brighter. Excellent room service. Staff are really friendly. I will be back and recommend this hotel for business travellers.
I stayed in this hotel for three days, whilst attending reunion in the early October, my room was superb, the addition of a sofa made for easy telly watching and in addition to the usual coffee and tea making facilities, there was also a coffee machine with a lovely selection of coffees. The fridge in the room came in handy for my cold drinks. The hotel has an excellent swimming pool and gym, but I managed to resist using either. Excellent breakfasts with as much as you can eat, but although I cannot comment on the meals as our evening meals were all buffet meals as part of our reunion, the food supplied was very good. I cannot really comment on the price of rooms as the price that I paid was a deal negotiated by my association reunion committee. Although not one of the larger hotels, I found that no matter my request or question, all of the staff were most helpful and nothing was too much trouble, I am hoping that we are returning to this hotel for our next reunion as I am looking forward to another pleasurable stay.
Went here on a Voyage Prive deal, which included dinner, spa treatments and an overnight stay with breakfast. Probably the most helpful and pleasant hotel staff in any hotel that I have ever stayed in. Across the board, they couldn't do enough for us, absolutely outstanding. The food was also of a very high standard and they catered very well for our dietary needs. Rooms were very clean with a very comfortable bed. No complaints whatsoever, highly recommend this hotel.
The Aztec Hotel Spa was a memorable experience. My husband and I have stayed at many hotels and the whole experience felt five star. All staff were polite, helpful and were so kind to our family. The lady from house keeping went over and above and my daughter drew her a picture to say thank you, she enjoyed it so much. The children loved having their own robes for the spa. My daughter felt so special in her mini VIP robe. The lady from room service, organised a cookie and milk for the children for after our swim, which was a lovely touch. I loved the idea of the VI little P and the offers for pink lemonade and pedicures for you and your child. The little touches and going beyond the usual from hotels was much appreciated. There were goody bags and raisins on the bed for the children. The fridge had drinks for the children and sweets. The hotel was immaculately clean and had a coffee machine with a range of coffees, teas and hot chocolate for the children. A small milk was in the fridge, I was impressed as usually their is not enough milk at hotels for your drink. There were biscuits to accompany the drinks. The products in the bathroom were ESPA and smelt divine. We had a package with a visit to the zoo and we will definitely be returning to this hotel.
The hotel was 1 minutes exit from the M5 near Bristol and was easy to park in the hotel car park (the barrier was raised and no parking ticket issued). On arrival the reception was unmanned but a young girl eventually arrived to issue keys and inform us of the information we required. There were 6 ladies in my party and shared 3 rooms. Two rooms were average rooms but the third had been reburbished and was to a nice standard. The other two rooms had inadequate showers which onlly a 3ft tall person would enjoy. In the afternoon we decided to have lunch and the majority of us just ordered a simple sandwhich and fries. The bar/eating area was empty although the meal took over an hour to eventually arrive. I understand having to wait if the area was busy but at the time of ordering we were the only customers! Also having stayed in many top worldwide hotels having to pay £4.50 for one cup of coffee is outrageous considering this is not a top 'location' hotel! The use of the spa pool was nice although it was spoilt by children in the pool even though this was supposed to be 'adults only' time and having to pay to get a coffee served in a plastic cup when this was supposed to be a spa break was disappointing (always usually free on a spa day). The treatments were fine and most of the party enjoyed them. The dinner was very tasty in the evening with service being quick. The breakfast was also very good although we had to ask for coffee/toast, extra milk etc constantly. Overall an average experience for the money which was just spoilt by a few things but as a one night 'normal' stay it would be ok if a little pricey for what it is.
We spent a few nights at this hotel with kids and other members of the family. Family Rooms are very clean modern, good service and polite staff. A couple of things had cropped up but nothing that they couldn't sort. Upon arrival to our rooms, they had left a couple of cookies and treats for the kids which they loved. The room had a fridge which is always handy. Restaurant- vegetarian options were very limited but location of hotel is such you can access the main Cribbs Causeway in less than 15 mins by car. Pool area- kids loved it, however, the kids pool is so slippery my 4 year old slipped a few times, once hit the side of her head and even as adults stepping into the pool you have to be very careful. I would def say this needs to be looked into as can potentially cause a bad injury. Overall a lovely hotel and would def return.
Visited with work for a couple of nights during the week. First, the good. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Tasty and varied breakfast selection. My colleagues said the restaurant was excellent in the evening too. The not so good. The room just felt a bit dated and in need of a refresh. This was particularly the case for the shower over the bath. Overall I would happily stay again for work but not sure if I would bring the family for the weekend as it was just ok.
Having visited this Hotel to use the Spa I was greeted by unfriendly staff in the Spa that could not even be bothered to say hello , Just gave me a towel and asked for £5.00 deposit for locker. When I got in the changing rooms the floor was not pleasant covered in hair . The hotel itself are very nice with friendly staff on reception but the Spa lets it down badly.The staff could do with some training on customers service and manners, I came away thinking the staff didn't want to be there.
