Great value / clean property / helpful staff / I recommend booking this property

Nice Lake View. You didn’t really get much for the resort fee. No fitness center but pool and free coffee/tea.

Beautiful, clean and absolutely luxurious for the price! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could've stayed longer.

Hotel was very nice. Fireplace was nice. Rooms were cozy.

My room was very clean. Clean bathroom and clean bed! Those are always my 2 concerns when booking a hotel. I recommend this hotel and will definitely come back if we come back to Big Bear. It is at the end of the Village and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Comfortable, spacious room with nice gas fireplace. This is not 5 stars, but met all of our needs.

Close to the Village in big bear and comfortable. The room was cute and

It was tough to turn on the shower. Sounds like many showers have issues in this hotel. Front desk staff grumpy. Would not stay there again.

Hotel location is very good. Hotel staff was good. The beds and pillows were comfortable, but did not like the lack of a room (room 124) window. Also, the toilet required holding down the handle for quite some time to ensure proper flushing. Jonathan was a good server at the hotel's restaurant, Stillwells kids-eat-free policy is deceiving since you end up paying quite a bit for adult entrees.

First day skiing this season. Very comfortable and although not close to either Bear Mountain or Snow Summit it is nicer to stay closer to the village since you need a car to get around anyway.

I'm sure the prior owners let the maintenance slide a little, A/C was marginal w/ the day time heat & the shower control wasn't working properly. I'm sure Holiday Inn will correct their issues. I would recommend it to others & we would stay again if we're out there. Not 5 star yet, but I'm sure it will be in time.

The heat didn't work in winter. I set the thermostat to heat on, temperature 72, The air duct blew only cold air for over an hour. I had to open the door to the hallway to warm the room up. A hotel staff person came, he entered the settings to the thermostat and got the same results, he didn't know what else to do.

The room was very clean and comfortable and even had a cozy fireplace. We had a great little balcony with a view and the bed was cozy as well. Best part is it's right in the village where all the shops and restaurants are within walking distance!

Inside the hotel it was nice. But the floor close to window was little moist, might be due to snow pile next to window. They did terrible job of maintaining their parking lot during snow. It was very hard to even drive and park. Many cars were just left wherever they got stuck in the snow. The management did not even had bothered to clean snow from previous weeks. I realized it after the plow went through the lot. About 3 to 4 feet of snow had accumulated over weeks (It did not snow 3 feet overnight). Even though they had a tractor to plow snow, it was also parked in the lot. The manager was recommending to stay one more night because they could not get machine to plow and the roads were closed. As per CalTrans at least one road was open all the time and I did drive out of the city after it was dark on the same day. I believe the whole idea of the management was to make more money by making guest's cars stuck in the parking lot and lying about road conditions. This is bad. People go to Big Bear for enjoying out doors. If their cars get stuck by bad hotel the whole plan is a disaster. Whole day people were trying to shovel the snow by themselves to get out of the place, until plow machine came by end of the day. Whole day was ruined and I had to drive out of the city in dark snow-storm night without enjoying the day out there doing what I wanted to do.

A good experience is one that is uneventful and you get your rest. The only thing good about this hotel is its location. The staff is young and immature and although try, it is clear they lack sufficient leadership and guidance from those in charge. The moment we walked through the doors for check in all we could hear was loud Mexican circus style music coming from the open banquet room doors immediately to our left. When I made a comment about it, the staff made horrified looks and did not know how to respond. Their Older female white boss said nothing either and just shot me dirty looks. You know all they probably needed to do was shut the doors to the room so we could at least hear enough to check in. When we went to our room 320 and subsequently left the room to go find a nice place for dinner, the hallway directly outside our room was filled with pot smell. We complained on our way out and the staff sent someone to deal with it. We were offered another room down on the first floor - so really what is worse pot smell or dealing with mariachi music through the thin doors? Obviously we were not interested in changing rooms. The same wedding mariachi group apparently had tons of children overrun the game room so when my son went to go use it to relax and play some games, the hotel had shut down the room entirely so obviously we were unable to use that amenity when we most needed to. Then they deactivated our room cards saying that someone claiming to be me had checked out.

Check in was real fast, very friendly staff, room was super clean, walking distance to shops and restaurants, I was very please!!

Love the restaurant and staff Jennifer was fun at Stillwells

Overall, we had a great experience. Hotel is clean, staff is very nice and beds are comfortable. The fireplace in the room is a plus. It is walking distance away from the "Village". Plenty of parking available.

Hi there, we actually do have a fitness center, it's located on the first floor. Also, the resort fee covers the cost of the game-room, if utilized. Sorry to hear that you didn't feel it was worth it, we'll consider that moving down the line.
