The property and room itself were clean and comfortable. What upset me, is paying a little more for a room with a balcony, then being put on the first floor. When I told them at the front desk I paid for a room with a balcony, they told me there was nothing they could do, no rooms were available. I’d understand that if they were busy, but seeing the amount of cars in the parking lots compared to the vast amount of rooms on the top floors. There should have been an available room or, they should have limit the amount of rooms with balconies available to reserve. Overall I just sucked it up because we were staying one night and the room itself was nice and location of hotel was great.
Very close to village, walkable and easily accessible to restaurants and cafes. Didnt like that there was a tremendous amount of bird poo around entrance to rooms and our TV was stuck on only 1 channel. If you're not an IHG member then you get the parking lot views.
Central location in Big Bear City, close to the lake and the Village shopping area; cute lodge style; gas fireplace in the room
Had to wait for one full hour just to get to check in for my reservation which was confirmed. They did provide us free breakfast for 2 people but our reservation was for 3. The first floor elevator and the main lounge are on a split level and you still have to go down some stairs just to get to the elevator. So if you have some heavy luggage you will have your work cut out for you. They also double charged me for the room which I had to call my bank to challenge the double charge which was corrected the next day.
We love staying here whenever we go to Big Bear, close to shopping and restaurants, and the hotel itself is very pleasing. Too bad the person who checked me in had no personality, like she didn’t want to be there. When I was checking out I had to wait for the staff to finish their phone call, I asked them to print my bill, they said the printer is jammed, I said fine just send it to me by email, which I still haven’t got yet. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Loved the room with a fireplace.
Property was walking distance from shops. It is a very convenient location and highly recommend it.
When we arrived, the desk clerk informed us that our dog was an additional $150 - I don't know if they meant a night or for 2 nights. They claimed "those 3rd party services don't let people know". That was over my limit, so we didn't stay
The room and the facility is clean and well maintained. The TV was not working when we arrived but the hotel sent someone to fix it right away. It's located within walking distance to the village.
Within walking distance to stores and activities. Restaurant
In general the property seemed ok, we only stayed one night, the room was nice and large. Upon check in, there was only an older man at the desk, on the phone with a client who seemed to be complaining about the room. It took over 30 minutes to check in since there were two other people in front of us. He seemed very frustrated, as the phone kept ringing. When it was our turn, I asked for a very accessible room as my daughter is in a wheelchair, and he gave us a room which wasn’t, no hand bar by the toilet and with a bath tub, no shower chair. Since it was just one night and we were tired we just stayed in the room .
Most amenities were not available due to the pandemic. This was understandable but should have been communicated to customers before booking. Great place to stay and great location.

Thank you so much for staying with us! Just to be clear, your room location is based on what type of room you have booked at the time of reservation; it does not have anything to do with being an IHG member as such. With that said, if we do have complimentary upgrades available, they are first assigned to our IHG Loyalty Members to thank them for their loyalty to our brands.

Thank you for staying with us!
We do apologize for any confusion; this information can be confusing when you book through a 3rd party site like Orbitz. The room you booked will have a balcony or patio with rooms on the first floor having patios that allow you to walk right out to the pool area. There is no way to book a balcony specifically other than calling the hotel directly and asking this preference to be noted on your reservation. This is something you may want to consider for your next stay with us!
