Best Western Big Bear Chateau

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

One of the better hotels in Big Bear, we stay there often. They offer a free breakfast including an omlette from a fixed menu that's okay. Going out to breakfast on the weekend in BB usually involves a waiting list, so it really is nice to just roll out of bed and head downstairs for a bite to eat. The lodge is located just 2 minutes from both ski areas as well as a few nice places to grab a steak and/or a couple of drinks. All things considered, you can't go wrong with staying there providing that you're a 3 1/2 to 4 stars kind of traveller. Besides, you won't find better up there unless you rent a nice fancy home $$$$ instead.

Restaurant breakfast was the best!! Needs some updating but was clean and relaxing

Kids really loved our stay. Beds were comfortable and the pool area clean and inviting. Recreation room and breakfast were our kids favorites. We loved the quiet and safe neighborhood.

Perfect location if skiing at Bear Mountain. Convenient and filling breakfast included. Quirky decor. Only reason I lowered my rating slightly, wait staff in morning either understaffed or just a bit slow to get to you to take your egg order, and pillows uncomfortable. Nice fireplace in room and jet tub for baths. We would totally stay here again.

Staff is good very informative room clean we like to stay there because we like the hotel

Malfunction WiFi. Overall nice enough to return next winter season.

Nice overall, convenient location. Minutes from slopes and main strip.

When I first walked into the hotel, I knew it would be disappointing. It smelled. It was nice that we were allowed to check-in early. But I walked into the room, and I was disappointed. It smelled worse than the hallways. It was an old cigarette smell with an attempt to cover it up with cleanser. Yuck. If I could've gotten my money back then, I would've found somewhere else. The breakfast was a plus though. Good eggs Benedict. And the fireplace was nice.

Great place, great free breakfast, great location in town

We typically stay in cabins when in Big Bear but wanted a room with modern amenities this time. The Best Western exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was included each day; the quality, presentation and quantity of food was exceptional. Depending on he time of year, AC or heating is available in the rooms. They have a pool available in the warmer months. The jacuzzi was open and there was a hot tub in our room. A gym was also available. I will definately consider staying here again.

Hotel was very clean. Everyone was very nice. The location is very quiet. Easy to find and plenty of places to eat nearby. Fireplace made the room cozy. Breakfast was excellent. My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Quite place to rest, and a nice gym. Plus it's in walking distance to a couple of nice dinner restaurants and a Starbucks.

It was a pleasing stay. The hotel was clean and good breakfast bar. I would definitely stay again in the future.

For Big Bear the hotel is one of the better ones, but it is still a Best Western in a time warp. If you enjoy a 1980's experience, this is a good place to stay. To their credit, the place was clean, just dated....very dated :)

Spent the night for a quick snowboarding trip. Hotel was right by the mountain, very convenient. Very impressed with the breakfast spread. The staff was wonderful, especially the gentleman that checked us in. Only 2 drawbacks, the noise at night from the people in the room above us, you can hear everything. And the beds weren't the most comfortable but well worth it. I would definitely stay again.

Provides a feeling of safety in addition to the above scored values

The staff is very friendly. The rooms could use some updating, but over all very nice stay. Close to everything!

Its the perfect spot if you dont have a big group and want to stay a night in big bear.

Clean, with a responsive staff. Everyone seemed to really care about our comfort. Great location in relation to activities and lake.

The hotel is beautiful, the area was too. But the bathroom smelled of mildew which permiated the very pretty room. We didn't change rooms, we were there for only one night, we just closed the bathroom door. The bed was comfortable, and amenities were fine. Check in/out staff were very nice. But we were ignored at their in house breakfast. Imagine being sat down by a gal that proceeds to take everyone's order but yours. She filled the bread basket well though.
