hotel is ideally located right in the high street booked for my birthday as treat hotel was lovely really loved our room all though there was some mix up as to how many rooms I'd booked. however this was dealt with quickly and was offered the same rate that I had booked for mine and boyfriends room. helpful staff even though when i ordered room service there was some confusion regarding payment wasn't told i had to swipe my card at reception first think guests should be told this if they are thinking of ordering room service. other wise would stay here again no major issues
You can't beat the location of this place. Hotel has parking if you need it though at a cost. Rooms are spacious. We had a double room and a king room interconnecting for our kids. We loved our stay here and would return. Rooms were spacious and clean.
Situated across the road from Windsor castle this is the ideal location to stay in Windsor. We planned to visit the RHS gardens at Hyde hall and wissley in surrey which we did with ease On arrival we were greeted by valet parking and Robert on reception We had a great stay, our room was on the 5th floor with a view across the town to the west Nice room and bathroom but the bed was a bit soft for my liking Breakfast was good but very busy on Sunday morning as expected as everyone has a lay in. The staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you I will stay here again without any hesitation
Had a port stay on Wednesday night in room 408. It was extremely hot and the room had no/very little air conditioning. The next morning I had a hot shower...for 20 seconds until it turned ice cold. I recall the bling my previous weekend camping was more luxurious. The worst part about this was that I found out yesterday that my colleague, who arrived a day earlier than me, had the same room and complained and was moved the night before - when I arrived they put myself in the room without fixing anything. I have to admit I was too tired to complain but still, poor experience.
Amazing location just in front of the entrance to the Castle. Quite a lot of nice smaller restaurants nearby, but also a Starbucks and Wagamama both next door. Hotel was ok, clean, nicely appointed rooms, but pitiful view from the room and simply horrible service. On two of the days I came back from work to discover that the room was cleaned, but no fresh towels and toiletries were brought. Once I called the reception they were promptly delivered, but were they not supposed to be there even without a reminder? Just don't bother about breakfast - you are much better off somewhere nearby. Otherwise be ready to face nobody to serve you or even show you to a table that has been cleaned and ready to welcome a new guest. Tables stay I cleaned and nobody cares. Nobody replenishes the buffet which is empty most of times and with extremely limited choice. Quite a disgrace really.
Stayed for 2 nights for my daughter's graduation. Everything was fantastic. Concierge taking the car to park, receptionists, all staff we saw and spoke too were very polite and professional. The room was lovely, gorgeous and the shower was fab! Brilliant, central location, across the road from Windsor Castle and the shops! Perfect location. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would highly recommend.
We only stayed one night but enjoyed every minute. It is in a great location - literally right across the road from the Windsor Castle. Could walk out the front door of the hotel and be just minutes from the castle, shops, restaurants, pubs etc. Rooms were beautiful. Had 2 executive doubles with a connecting door as there were 3 of us in our group. Large enough rooms, looked very clean and in grateful modern design. Lovely bathrooms with the largest, fluffiest towels and robes. Great high powered showers with never ending hot water. Beds were comfy. Rooms seemed sound proof as we heard no noise. As we booked through an online third party there was some confusion about parking, but the staff was super helpful. I'm sure if we had booked directly with the hotel they would have explained the parking details up front. The road is very busy out the front of the hotel - a pedestrian crossing and double yellow lines means you can't stop out front to unload. You have to go around the back to unload and deal with the valet parking people. Was tricky to find without some help from the front desk, but got us all sorted in the end. We were leaving for an early flight out of Heathrow the next morning. Even in rush hour traffic we were there in 40 minutes. Preferred this to the generic airport hotels we normally stay in before flying. Highly recommend this hotel, worth every penny!
The hotel was in the centre of Windsor. The rooms were clean and the staff where always happy to help. There is a cafe next to reception which serve nice tea. There is also in room dining. I can easily say that this hotel is one of the best in Windsor
We've stayed at several Macdonald Hotels this one is good but not great, the decor is somewhat dingy to be honest, very low light levels throughout, although modern in an old shell of a building. The staff were charming and very helpful, although when bath robes were requested we didn'the get them. The level of cleanliness was poor in our room, not what we've become accustomed to with a Macdonald hotel. The food was very good and well presented, once again the service was spot on. I would recommend this hotel mainly because of its position in Windsor, but it is not good value in my opinion.
I booked this hotel through Secret Escapes for one night with my boyfriend. We got prosecco & muffin on arrival in our room, a 3 course dinner and breakfast. The hotel is clean and modern looking with a luxurious feel. It's small entrance hides how big it is, but not in an impersonal way. The staff checking us in did so efficiently and with a smile. My boyfriend dropped me off in a dead-end street just opposite & then parked the car at Victoria St carpark; 10 mins walk away and cheaper than what the hotel offers fyi! The hotel is in such a great location; step out the doors to see Windsor castle, changing of the guards and be amongst all the shops, bars etc. We love Windsor now! Our room was big, clean and comfortable. It would be nice to have some harder pillows in the cupboard was our only 'negative' feedback It was the dining experience that let the stay down; bar staff were very unfamiliar with the cocktails we ordered, starter was nice, my mains missed elements advertised as being served with it & upon pointing this out we were offered those missing elements with our desserts (?!) The mushy peas were a dry powder and when pointed out, came back as a sloppy soup. Dessert was huge; lacked a bit of refinement. All food came out piping hot, cooked breakfast included, but some elements felt a bit cafe kitchen e.g. boiled mushrooms at breakfast. There was a good array of choice at breakfast however. All in all? Lovely hotel, just eat else-where!
