We had a great stay at the Hampton. It no doubt helped that we got the deal through Travelzoo and had the free parking so the price was just right. But overall the stay was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The place was clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The food at breakfast was hot and tasted good. Everything you could want in a stay. We did not use the shuttle but heard good things. The valets were wonderful and quick. Wifi was a bit of an issue but we called the front desk and they gave us a different way to get on and that was solved. We had room 321 so we were at the end of the hallway with no traffic other than to the ice machine but never heard anyone. Location close to Union Market was great. Be sure to walk over there and eat because that place is fantastic!
Theo at drink needs retraining. His attitude STINKS. People pay money to have a good experience and he totally started it weekend off on a bad foot. I’m rushing us to get to the next he didn’t give us all the options.
What an awesome time. Check in was smooth, room clean and we had a window with a view. (rm 608) i booked this thru travelzoo so i got a nice deal that included free valet. that was the perfect deal for the family on a budget. I have got to tell you, we really slept great and enjoyed the free breakfast. the breakfast was better than other hampton inn's that we have been to. We used the shuttle service and the drivers were great. they knew about the area and were prompt and courteous. Staff gave us great guidance on what was in the area for foot travel too. We would certainly stay here again. i loved it and so did my kids.... we didnt have time to take advantage of the pool or the gym. they also have some type of elevated patio area that should be opened in the near future
Helpful staff, frequent shuttle to Union Station and Metro. Near Union Market with many restaurants.Nice accommodations and good complimentary breakfast. Rooms are comfortable and well stocked, free internet.
This Hampton Inn is a bit out of the way from the Metro in DC and other businesses. The staff are family and helpful. There are limited options for restaurants and other entertainment. They do provide a shuttle to NoMa Metro and Union Station.
My experience at this Hampton Inn was extremely pleasant. It is a little farther away from the Union Station area that I like to frequent as I travel to DC on Amtrak. However, the free shuttle service was very accommodating. You may have to wait a few minutes to arrive but it generally worked out very well. I had to take a cab to the Kennedy Center and back as the weather was terrible and the fares were a little higher than in previous trips but still inexpensive in the long run. The staff I talked to: front clerk, shuttle drivers and breakfast staff were all extremely pleasant and very helpful. The microwave was useful and the breakfasts plentiful. The pool area was somewhat small but still very nice. I had a room with only a shower and would prefer a bathtub to soak my feet in after a long day of walking around the National Mall but this trip I didn't do as much walking as I usually do so it was fine. I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind being a little far away from the museums. Also it is a little close to trains.
though not downtown, this is a wonderful place to stay. The accomodations were very nice, very comfortable room, bed and pillows. Great blackout curtains. Big tv with Directv..all the stations I watch. Nice indoor pool and fabulous hot indoor jacuzzi with strong jets...very relaxing. Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful free shuttle service to Union Station and bus stop to mall, and stop at closeby Union Market with several restaurants.
I paid in full, in advance for my Emergency Physician conference, $750 for 4 nights. Arrived and asked to provide cc for $200 hold for 4 nights for "incidentals". Because of rampant fraud when traveling, I use cc with small limit, $500, when traveling. Woke up to alert that Hampton inn tried to charge additional $100 overnight first night. Called manager next day, he had no idea what happened, said he would fix it. Each morning, another attempted charge overnight, it was like Groundhog Day. Said it wouldn't happen again, each day. Four night stay, $400 in attempted charges, $200 successful when I didn't charge ANYthing to the room. Nobody in the hotel could explain to me why my card was charged or who was doing it. Yet it was coming from them. Called Hampton Inn corporate directly, they said they had no access to my financials and I should speak to the manager. When I clearly told them he couldn't figure it out. I have no choice but to cancel my CC since if they have no idea why they are charging my card every night, I can't rely on them to not continue doing so when I check out. Broken ice maker on our floor, plastic forks and paper plates at breakfast, didn't change our sheets for 4 nights...NOT worth the price. Won't be back.
great accommodations and staff. felt comfortable with 10 min walk to metro during the day but not at night. would definitely stay there again. left 2 t-shirts in room and front desk worked with housekeeping to mail back to me.
This was the best room we had had in the whole of our US trip but this was the one real positive of the place. You have to get their shuttle to get in and out of town (to Union station). One driver is excellent, the other had a real attitude problem and I felt most uncomfortable with him. Then we were back to a picnic on paper plates with plastic cutlery for the morning at breakfast. Why? It is environmentally unfriendly and horrible. WE would not have minded if the quality of the food had made up for this but it did not, it was rubbish.
